Chapter 464 Opening Screen Critical Hit

Chapter 464 Opening Screen Critical Hit

Qin Liang merely snorted without comment, and Wang Yu didn't say anything more either.

The old man was in a good mood when he saw Qiao Xing. The two chatted for a long time, and Qiao Xing coaxed him to eat and drink his medicine.

Afterwards, Qiao Xing took the old man downstairs to relax. He pushed the wheelchair and went wherever the old man pointed.

The old man introduced the villa to her, saying there was a separate house in the back, which the old man said was the ancestral hall.

In their family, people who get married have to go to worship their ancestors, but because of Qin Ce's current relationship with Qin Liang, Qiao Xing can't go in yet.

Qiao Xing didn't care about these things; for her, nothing was better than having her family by her side.

The old man said, "It's alright, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."

Qiao Xing nodded. "Okay."

This villa is huge! It's a cloudy day, but the vegetation is so green it's practically glowing, and there's birdsong and fragrant flowers everywhere.

Qin Ce followed at a distance, but after a while, feeling that there was nothing for him to do, he stopped, found two places to sit down, and watched them from afar.

The old man introduced the places to Qiao Xing along the way, explaining that these places were his memories, and that he remembered clearly what Qin Ce had done in which places.

Qiao Xing knew very little about Qin Ce's past, especially his childhood, and was filled with curiosity about those parts of his life that she hadn't been a part of.

“We used to live here. The place we live now was built later. There should still be a photo of Xiao Ce in this house. Let’s go in and take a look.”

"After we moved here, most of our belongings were still inside."

The building they live in now was built when Qin Ce was a little over four years old. He moved there less than six months later and then followed him to Chongqing.

Everything is there.

Qiao Xing agreed to the old man's words and pushed him to the front of the building. The building was indeed a bit old and did not look as bright as the other houses.

The old man called for someone to bring it from the housekeeper's house. After opening the door, Qiao Xing pushed him inside.

This place isn't cleaned often; the last time it was cleaned was during the Lunar New Year. Now, the furniture is visibly covered in a layer of dust.

"This way," the old man pointed to his left.

Qiao Xing pushed him into the left corridor and stopped at the door of the room he specified.

"This is the room where Xiao Ce lived when he was a child."

Qiao Xing hummed in agreement, pushed open the bedroom door, and saw that there was nothing special about it; it was very clean.

However, considering how tiny Qin Ce was, he probably wouldn't have left behind anything special.

"Let's go in and take a look."

Qiao Xing pushed the old man inside. The room was quite large and had a bathroom. It didn't look as high-tech as the other rooms. The windows here were the kind with openwork patterns and could be pushed open.

Qiao Xing looked around and saw the bookshelf over there, which was filled with many books.

She glanced at them; they were mostly children's educational books, many with pictures, and included both English and Chinese versions.

There was a toy box in the corner, filled with things that were similar to those of most children: robots, toy cars, and the like.

After searching for a long time, I finally found a photo album in the drawer.

Qiao Xing was just flipping through the pages casually when she saw the first photo and was stunned.

The picture above is of a baby who is completely naked, wearing absolutely nothing.

It can be described as a devastating opening screen attack.

She gaped in shock and showed the photo album to the old man, "Grandpa, could this be Qin Ce?"

"Whose things are in his room if not his?"

The old man glanced at the photo and couldn't help but laugh, laughing for a long time.

"This little rascal, I've forgotten he even had this photo. This is his one-month-old picture. Look at that nose, that little mouth, he was so cute when he was little."

Qiao Xing stared at the photo for a long time, but couldn't find a trace of Qin Ce in the baby.

There's simply no way to connect him with the baby in the photo.

The baby was lying face down, and Qiao Xing couldn't help but laugh when he saw his two halves of his bottom.

She quickly took out her phone and snapped a picture.

She must keep this safe; it's leverage over her.

Just like those unflattering photos of Qiao Xing stored on his computer, he'll use those photos to threaten him into deleting them.

“I suddenly remembered that his mother said she would show this photo on the big screen when he got married.”

Qiao Xing thought about Qiao Yi's personality, and it seemed like she was capable of doing such things. But given Qin Ce's personality, if he were really released, she wondered if he would break ties with her.

Qiao Xing carefully preserved the evidence and turned to the next page. The second page had a much denser collection of photos, with eight photos on it.

They were all photos of her as a baby, but she was wearing diapers. Qiao Xing didn't think twice before taking the photos and then admiring them.

The child in the photo is very cute, with big, watery eyes, a small mouth, and a smile.

Qiao Xing couldn't help but think of the little one in her belly, wondering if he would be as cute as this after he was born.

She became a little distracted and flipped through the pages again, where there were many group photos.

There are photos of him and Joey, photos of Qin Liang, and photos of the three of them together.

Joe thought she was already very beautiful, but she underestimated Joe's looks when she was young.

And then there's Qin Liang, whose serious expression and demeanor are strikingly similar to Qin Ce's.

There are even photos of the old man. He was only in his forties or fifties back then, and he looks about five-tenths like Qin Liang now.

Qiao Xing searched for a long time but couldn't find a photo of Grandma Qin.

She turned to the old man and asked, "Grandpa, why isn't there a picture of Grandma Qin?"

When Grandma Qin was mentioned, the old man's eyes became somewhat dazed, as if he were recalling something from a long time ago.

He sighed, “Your grandmother passed away early. She was already ill, and she insisted on giving birth to the child. As a result, she passed away less than two years later. She was only thirty years old when she died.”

"Her photo isn't here; it's in my room."

Qiao Xing was somewhat moved; he had actually remained single for fifty years without remarrying.

"I'm sorry, I was too talkative."

The old man waved his hand, "It's nothing. It's been so long, and now when I look at the photos, they feel a little unfamiliar to me."

“Ever since Qin Liang and Xiao Gu divorced, I sometimes get angry and feel sorry for her. How could the son she risked her life to give birth to grow up to be like this?”

"I've reflected on it, and maybe I was wrong too. But after thinking about it, I don't know who to blame."

As the old man spoke, a look of sadness appeared on his face.

"Grandpa is still conflicted. One moment he feels that I didn't teach him well, and the other moment he feels that he went astray on his own."

And then there's that woman, Wang Yu, who's been sowing discord between them. Sometimes he gets so angry he could grind his teeth at her. She can't treat him like her own son.

But in reality, the blood relationship between the two is something that cannot be changed.

The old man took the photo album from Qiao Xing's hand, his withered fingers stroking the baby in the photos.

"Of all the children he had, only Xiao Ce looked most like him when he was a child. Tell me, now that these two are fighting like this, doesn't he deserve it?"

Qiao Xing couldn't respond; she looked at the old man with a complicated expression.

In that instant, she could no longer tell whether Grandpa Qin was looking at Qin Ce or at Qin Liang through the photograph.
