Chapter 14 The Man Who Makes You Adore Him

"Whoosh!" A gentle breeze blew by, rippling the surface of the lake. The water was a beautiful sight, its surface shimmering and blue, yet the current was swift and the water below was icy cold.

She couldn't remember when she had fallen into the lake. She felt like she had been swimming for a long time, and her whole body was exhausted. "Splash!" Wan'er spread her arms, trying to paddle towards her side several times, but her hands were becoming increasingly weak.

Wan'er frowned, struggling wearily in the water. At this moment, the tip of her nose was red from the cold, and her whole body was icy cold, the same temperature as the water droplets.

His clenched teeth trembled with a "tsk tsk!"

Water vapor drifted across the lake, making the surrounding environment even more blurred. A vast expanse of mist stretched before my eyes. Where was the other shore?

Swimming speed slowed down, splash! Mouthfuls of cold water rushed into her mouth, gurgling and stinging her throat. As her body sank, Wan'er felt herself sinking.

It's so cold, so cold!

"Is anyone there? Someone, please help me!" The hoarse cries gradually faded away.

"Give me your hand! I'll take you away." Like a god descending from the heavens, just when Wan'er was about to despair, a slightly magnetic voice appeared in her ear.

A bright light appeared from ahead, and in the intense light, a hand reached out to Wan'er. Wan'er could vaguely see a charming figure; the person had long, slender arms and well-proportioned fingers. However, the light was so bright that no matter how wide Wan'er's eyes were, she could not make out his face.

"Who are you?" Wan'er quickly reached out and grabbed the other person. The warmth from the other person's palm quickly traveled through their fingertips to Wan'er's body.

The man didn't answer, but instead gripped Wan'er's hand even tighter, exerting more force. His rolled-up sleeves revealed bulging muscles, making him appear even more robust and powerful.

Driven by a force, Wan'er's upper body rose quite a bit with a "whoosh!"

The other party exerted force secretly and pulled Wan'er out of the water. "Thump!" After a dull impact, Wan'er's whole body was against a broad and solid chest, and a strong arm had already wrapped around her slender waist.

A strange feeling, accompanied by the joy of escaping from a desperate situation, made Wan'er's muscles tense up and her cheeks burn, yet she also felt a strange sense of enjoyment.

"Hoo!" Wan'er, feeling a little dizzy, saw the tall figure, gathered her inner energy, stepped onto the water, and sped forward like an arrow. A moment later, the two arrived at the shore.

"Thank you..." Once she had her feet firmly planted, Wan'er tried to take the opportunity to look up and see the other person clearly. However, the strange light emanating from him blocked her view. No matter how quickly Wan'er moved her head, she still couldn't see his face.

"Stand still!" He helped Wan'er to her feet, his voice somewhat domineering, yet possessing an inexplicable, irresistible charm.

"Put this on." The man raised his hands, and a blue fur coat appeared in his hands. He stepped forward and draped the coat over Wan'er's shoulders.

As warmth arrives, a delicate fragrance lingers in the air, unlike the rich scent of roses or the subtle fragrance of daisies, yet it brings a sense of comfort and ease.

The man was surprisingly clean and fresh, without any greasy smell.

Wan'er was momentarily infatuated...

The man turned around, and a piece of strange jade flew out from his collar, sparkling with starlight, both peculiar and beautiful.

This jade...

Distracted for a moment, the slender figure had already disappeared with the fluttering of his robes.

Don't go, tell me, who are you? My heart was pounding, and a question stuck in my throat, but I couldn't bring myself to say it.
