"Uncle, Uncle," Wan'er called out, and her uncle and Shui Xing turned around almost simultaneously.
"Wan'er!" The moment they saw Wan'er appear, they were overjoyed and immediately turned around to greet her, standing on either side of her.
The uncle asked anxiously, his face dark, "Child, where have you been? We were so worried!"
"Where did you come from?" Mercury looked up at Wan'er's back, but looked completely bewildered. "There's no exit here."
"I'm very tired now and want to go home and rest as soon as possible. Don't ask any more questions. This matter can't be explained in just a few words. I'll tell you slowly later. Let's go." Wan'er glanced down at the little prince in her arms, then took the lead and walked towards the car not far away...
“This child,” Mercury shook his head as he chased after Wan’er, glancing back at her. Though puzzled, he was at a loss for what to do.
"Something seems off with the little prince. What's wrong with him?" As he approached the car door, the uncle noticed that the little prince had his eyes closed lazily and was not as energetic as usual.
“He,” Wan’er paused, her hand on the car door stopping on the handle, “he injured himself while trying to save me, and he hasn’t woken up yet.”
Wan'er slowly opened the car door, her voice somewhat low.
“This guy is a real man!” Mercury raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, looked at the little prince with admiration, and even reached out to pat the little prince’s back. “You’d better wake up soon, or I’ll be very lonely.”
"Hold him for me, Uncle," Wan'er reminded Shui Xing. Shui Xing quickly reached out and took the little prince, carefully cradling him in his arms before getting into the car and sitting in the passenger seat...
The car started and sped away.
At the same time, in a secluded attic, black mist filled the air.
"What about that woman?" Standing by the dimly lit window, Bai Rui faced a figure with their back to him. "Should we continue supplying her with pills, or...?"
“Let’s continue. It’s just some bedbugs and rotting corpses. It’ll only take a little effort,” Qianfo grinned and sneered. “Although she didn’t do anything good this time, we can’t really blame her. After all, our opponent is too strong, and she’s quite capable. She’s a rare talent. Maybe in the future, she can become our most powerful weapon.”
"The boss is very insightful and his analysis is spot on."
“Let’s treat this as a pilot test; after all, this woman is tough!” Thousand Buddha, dressed in black robes, stood by the window, clenching his fists, gazing at the distant, gray sky. “Our equipment just won’t cut it…”
“Boss, actually, with the illusion magic, we were quite confident we could lock her up, but a cat suddenly appeared and blocked the arrow of death,” Bai Rui said with a hint of doubt in his eyes. “This cat’s appearance was too strange.”
“A cat?” Qianfo’s eyes narrowed, a flash of black energy passing between his brows. He looked at Bai Rui with a strange gaze. “Su Mei also mentioned this cat to me. Every time this cat looks at her, she feels uneasy. There’s definitely something strange about this. Go and investigate it carefully to see what its origins are.”
“I also think something’s strange,” Bai Rui reached up and stroked his white beard, opened his mouth, but hesitated to speak.
"Spit it out." Knowing he had something to say, and seeing him dawdling like this, Qianfo was getting impatient.
"Cough cough!" Bai Rui coughed twice.
"The woman said her boyfriend discovered her secret and took off her hallucinogenic pajamas. Do you think a man like that would exist in a hallucinatory world where one cannot use spiritual power?"
