Chapter 185 A woman is imprisoned in a water dungeon

The sound of "splashing water" seemed to be coming from behind the wooden door.

Wan'er's heart tightened, and she immediately stopped and turned to look at her uncle. She then pointed her thumb at the wooden door, indicating that someone was inside.

Uncle nodded to Wan'er, took a few steps, and was about to lead the way when Wan'er reached out and pulled him behind her.

The wooden door was teetering on the brink of collapse. Wan'er was very careful, and with a series of creaking sounds, she finally managed to push the door to the wall, where it stood steadily to the side.

A gust of cold wind, carrying moisture and a strange smell, swept over her, making her feel instantly damp and heavy. Wan'er couldn't help but shiver. Suddenly, she felt a surge of heat leaking from her body...

This was a narrow alley, barely wide enough for one person to pass through. It was dark and damp, and the cold wind stung their faces. Water occasionally flowed across the ground. Wan'er was in front, and her uncle was behind, carefully stepping on the slightly slippery ground.

The ground descended at approximately a 45-degree angle. Following a narrow passage, the two turned left, making a near-circle. After walking for about ten meters, a small round building appeared before them, resembling a water tower, with ripples spreading across its surface.

The water was somewhat dark, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

It seems this is a water dungeon! Wan'er took a deep breath, listened for a moment, then stepped into the water and waved her hand behind her to signal her uncle to guard the door.

Although he was still a little worried, his uncle slowed down.

Perhaps it was the chilling wind that made Wan'er's eyes feel increasingly tired. She blinked involuntarily, but when she opened her eyes again, everything was pitch black, and she couldn't see anything at all.

Wan'er had no choice but to take this opportunity to close her eyes and rest for a while.

"Help, help me!" The voice calling for help was right in front of him, weak but very close.

I groped around with both hands and felt a hand reaching out from in front of me. It was wet, and the fingertips were cold and trembling.

"Is it...is it you?" Wan'er heard the breathing and quickly held her breath. She felt a little tightness in her chest, but she couldn't care less about that now.

Finally, I opened my eyes, and a glimmer of light returned to my vision. On the opposite side of the wall in front of me, there was a figure standing in the water, which was already up to the other person's knees.

"Are you Xiaoli?" Wan'er asked.

"I, I am," the other person nodded.

"Are you... tied up?" At this moment, the spiritual light that could be gathered could only make out the other party's vague figure.

"Sizzle..." Faintly, there seemed to be another strange sound on the water's surface.

“Yes,” her voice trembled, “there are snakes…”

"A snake?" Wan'er heard it clearly, but didn't see it.

"Wan'er, be careful!" Just then, Uncle suddenly appeared in Wan'er's presence. He raised his pipe and swung it towards the water. A golden light shot towards Wan'er with the ripples. Uncle remained bent over, maintaining this posture, letting the golden light guide Wan'er.

Bathed in golden light, Wan'er could see clearly that a woman was soaking wet, with her hair disheveled, and her feet were against the wall, treading on the water.

Strangely, her hands weren't bound, yet she could only stand there motionless, staring at the water in terror...

Sensing something was amiss, Wan'er's gaze followed her eyes downwards.

The scene before her eyes startled Wan'er: two black and green snakes were coiled above Su Li's knees, their heads raised and looking in Wan'er's direction.

"Sizzle!" Two green snakes, each at least a meter long, opened their mouths and flicked their tongues, staring at him menacingly.
