Chapter 19 Killing Chickens at Uncle's Grave

Where is Wan'er going? I have to go with her; I don't want to be home alone. The kitten raised its head, leaped onto the sofa, and stood on its hindquarters...

"I understand what you mean. You want me to carry you?" Wan'er smiled and nodded, walking to the sofa and stretching out her arms.

"Meow!" The kitten leaped happily onto Wan'er's hand. The little prince was unfamiliar with this world, and only when he was by Wan'er's side did he feel at ease.

Downstairs in the apartment complex, Su Mei's old car is parked. That Mei Mei ran faster than a rabbit today.

Wan'er shook her head, opened the car door, got into the driver's seat, and placed the kitten on the passenger seat next to her. "You can sit here."

Sit here? What is this thing? I've never ridden in one of these rides before. The cat got excited, its whiskers twitching, and it stood on its limbs in the middle of the seat, spinning around excitedly.

Just as she was about to start the car, Wan'er felt something was amiss, so she turned around, pulled out the seatbelt from the passenger seat, and hung it on the kitten. "I haven't been driving for long, so sit still and don't move around."

What kind of operation is this? You've already kidnapped yourself, are you going to tie me up too? The kitten felt uneasy and pressed its back against the seat, waiting for Wan'er to fasten the seatbelt.

The straps binding its body weren't tight, and the kitten probably found it fun, so it quickly poked its little head out from under them.

"Listen to me, be good." "Vroom vroom!" Wan'er started the car, turned her head, saw him like this, and became a little impatient, raising her voice slightly.

Wan'er is angry, so I have to behave. The kitten stuck out its tongue, quickly crawled back into the seatbelt, and sat obediently.

About an hour later, the car stopped again by the side of the mountain road.

Wan'er got out of the car carrying the kitten and walked towards the mountain road...

"This is too mysterious."

"We're just waiting for her to arrive..."

From afar, the clear voices of several people discussing something could be heard coming from the mountainside.

Wan'er, where are you taking me? The higher we go, the more suffocated I feel, and the hotter it gets. My body starts to ache and I feel weak.

When they reached the big tree, the little prince was exhausted and leaned lazily on Wan'er's arm.

Before them was a large crater, beside which stood four burly men. To the right stood an elderly man wearing a faded blue coat, his legs covered in mud.

Although the old man had a white beard, he stood up straight and his eyes were bright and piercing.

"Third Uncle, elder brothers!" Wan'er greeted the old man first, and then nodded to the men beside her one by one.

"Wan'er, you've arrived." Third Uncle raised his eyes and waved to Wan'er. "Everyone's been waiting."

"Uncle, we can begin." Wan'er looked at the large pit, her expression calm and composed, but the little prince could hear her heart pounding faster.

"Alright!" Third Uncle nodded solemnly, turned around and took a few steps back, then bent down and picked up a large rooster and a knife from the grass...

"Cock-a-doodle-doo!" The rooster struggled in his hands, but Uncle San was quick and agile. While holding the rooster's wings firmly, he pulled the rooster's head back with his fingers. A flash of cold light appeared in front of him, and with a "sizzle," the rooster's throat was cut off.

"Heavenly spirits, earthly spirits..." After circling the grave mound and sprinkling chicken blood around the perimeter, the Third Uncle muttered incantations. After a moment, he stopped and casually tossed the lifeless rooster into the grass with a "plop!"

"Let's get to work!" At Uncle San's command, several strong men surrounded the grave and raised their hoes...
