Chapter 382 The Tragic Little Black Dog

"Oh my god!" Seeing this, Wan'er didn't care about anything else. She quickly reached out, lifted both ends of the iron cage, and moved the puppy and the cage out together. She ran over two thresholds and quickly moved to the living room, which was separated by a room and had fresher air...

Mercury, who was behind, had already rushed over, moved some of the clutter piled up at the door, and quickly closed the door to the storage room.

This stopped the foul air from spreading. Mercury came to Wan'er's side and was startled when she saw the puppy in front of her.

At this moment, the puppy lay motionless, covered in wounds. At first glance, it was impossible to tell whether it was dead or alive. Only by listening carefully could one hear what sounded like gurgling and whimpering coming from its throat.

What was terrifying was that the puppy was so thin that it was just skin and bones. At a glance, its belly was empty, and its skin was almost pressed against the protruding bones. There were also several cuts that had stopped bleeding and had scabbed over.

Looking at its head, it was swollen and firmly held in place by the iron cage, obscuring its eyes. Only on either side, roughly at the corners of its eyes, were two thin streaks of blood, like tears.

What was originally a thin, long mouth was now swollen like a winter melon, clearly constricted by something, sunken in in circles, making it impossible to open.

It looked so pitiful. I really don't know what kind of power enabled it to cry for help just now.

The iron cage was welded together from iron rods as thick as fingers, and it was already covered in rust, but there was still no sign of it breaking.

In its upper left corner hangs a large, rusty iron lock.

"Sigh! How can there be such a person, to be so cruel to a little dog?" Mercury shook his head, sighed, and stepped closer to the iron cage. His hand reached for the rusty padlock, and he secretly exerted force. A flash of light appeared at his fingertips.

With a loud crash, the large iron lock fell to the ground, and the iron gate in front of it opened and fell to the ground.

The puppy probably heard the door open and flinched in fright.

"You can come out now," Wan'er said softly, bowing slightly.

The little dog, pressed against the other side of the iron fence, seemed to understand her words. It tried to extend its right front paw forward, but quickly and slowly withdrew it.

"Hey, you little dog, why aren't you coming out? Do you want to starve to death here?" Mercury was getting a little anxious.

"I think he doesn't want to come out; he's injured and can't get out." Wan'er sighed, enduring the unpleasant smell, and finally rolled up her sleeves and reached out to the puppy. She carefully pulled it out of the iron cage, bit by bit. Even so, the puppy was trembling all over.

When its other side was fully visible, they saw that the other side of the puppy's body was a bloody mess, emitting a foul stench. Mercury and Wan'er both gasped in shock. Was this still a dog?

Aside from its swollen head, its body, which was over a foot long, was covered in wounds. It had almost no fur, only streaks of blood. The wire in its mouth was deeply embedded in its bony skin, and no one knew how it had been removed.

His swollen eyes were already oozing pus, as if they were stitched together.

Seeing the puppy in such a pitiful state, it's a miracle it survived.

"Ugh!" Mercury covered her mouth, almost vomiting.

"Looking at it like this, I wonder if it can be saved?" Mercury sighed as she said this, then gritted her teeth and cursed, "Damn it, they're inhuman, treating a mere child like that..."
