After saying this, Mercury turned around and picked up a relatively clean piece of clothing from the ground. She placed it on the coffee table next to her, wrapped it in another clean piece of clothing, and carefully placed the puppy on it.
"Ugh!" A pungent smell hit her nose, and Mercury covered her mouth, almost vomiting.
"Sigh, whether we can save her or not, we have to try. After all, she's still breathing. Besides, I can't bear to let her die like this." Wan'er, tears welling up in her eyes, stood up. Suddenly, she clasped her hands together, a faint light appearing at her fingertips, and stretched them forward.
"Let me help you." Mercury stood beside her and began to activate her spiritual power. She raised her finger and combined her spiritual light with Wan'er's, pointing it directly at the puppy's weak body.
A wisp of white light enveloped the little black dog's head, and then, with a hissing sound, white smoke began to rise from its neck...
Soon, "ding-ding!!" Several sounds were heard in succession, and the wire tied to the puppy's mouth snapped. Several pieces of wire, each less than an inch long, fell to the ground. At the same time, a tear slid down the puppy's eye.
"Don't worry, I'm here, I won't let you suffer anymore." Seeing that it moved, Wan'er seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. She turned her wrists, squatted down, and stroked the puppy's whole body.
More auspicious light swept slowly across his back from front to back. As the air surged like waves, several more iron wires with flesh attached fell to the ground, and thick black blood began to flow from his eyes, trickling down the corners and onto the clothes spread out on the ground...
A miracle occurred: as the old and new wounds healed one by one, the pus stopped flowing.
The puppy's previously stiff body softened, its mouth opened slightly, and it exhaled a long breath.
The puppy finally opened its eyes, but its gaze was not clear, still veiled by a layer of white mist. However, the moment it saw Wan'er, its gaze was complex, indescribable as to whether it was surprise, joy, or something else entirely.
"It actually survived! This puppy is truly a miracle. It seems its life is no longer in danger." Seeing that the puppy had recovered, Mercury withdrew the spiritual energy from his palm. "In that case, let it go. Time is of the essence, and we should be on our way."
“But I think we have a special connection with this puppy,” Wan’er said, her gaze fixed on the dog.
"Fate?" Upon hearing this, Mercury's body trembled, and she turned around.
The puppy seemed more alert at this moment. It shook its droopy ears, slowly raised its bloodshot eyes, and looked up at Wan'er.
"Is there something you want to tell me?" Wan'er raised her finger again.
"Wan'er, what else do you want to do?" Mercury stepped back.
"Don't you think there's something in his eyes? Maybe it can tell us something, or maybe we can take it back..."
"There's something in its eyes?" Mercury seemed to understand something, looked at the puppy for a moment, and then nodded. "You're right, but you go to the side, I'll ask it this time."
“No, it won’t tell you.” Wan’er shook her head and didn’t move aside. Mercury had no choice but to move a small stool from the side, put it down, and kick it behind Wan’er to make her sit down. “Just sit down, it won’t be tiring this way.”
"Thank you, Uncle. I'll begin now. You can keep watch for me."
"Okay, call me anytime if anything happens. I'll go check the area." Mercury agreed and walked out the door, closing it behind her.
