Er Gou's eyes were glazed over as he stared straight ahead...
There's something strange about this idiot; there seems to be something hidden all over him that doesn't belong to him. What could it be? It seems like someone is relying on Er Gou to relay information.
The Little Prince didn't quite understand, though he twitched his beard, his expression calm. He was certain that Er Gou wouldn't harm Wan'er; perhaps there was more to the story. The Little Prince looked up at Wan'er and nodded.
"Doggy, what were you mumbling about just now?" The uncle sitting opposite him noticed that Er Gouzi, who always put food first, was unusually attracted to an empty backpack and was behaving strangely. So he asked him curiously.
"Good, delicious!" Uncle had barely finished speaking when Er Gouzi chuckled again, but didn't reply. He simply grabbed another piece of chicken, buried his head, and wolfed it down.
With a flurry of activity, Er Gou smacked his lips, his mouth and chest soon covered in splattering oil droplets.
"Sigh! Why did you do something foolish again?" Uncle sighed and shook his head.
"Hehe," Er Gouzi ate with gusto, glancing only at Wan'er and his uncle with shifty eyes before continuing to devour the chicken.
“Wan’er, actually, the one I’m talking about is him. This child suddenly ran over to me yesterday and said he wanted to find Wan’er. He said he wanted to tell you that he saw your mom and dad. When he said that, his eyes were clear and his speech was clear. He was a completely different person and seemed perfectly normal. His expression at the time was both anxious and sincere. Today when I went to find him, he became like this again.”
"What, you're talking about him? But he..." The rest of the sentence was left unsaid. The uncle knew in his heart that Er Gouzi was a bit simple-minded, and what he said could not be taken seriously.
"Well, at first I thought about things similar to yours. I wondered whether I should believe what a fool said. But he was very serious when he spoke, which was completely different from his usual crazy self. I thought about it for almost a day and a night, and finally decided to tell you about it first so that you can judge how to handle it."
“This child eats one meal and goes hungry the next,” Auntie said, sitting next to Uncle. Seeing that Er Gouzi had almost finished eating most of a bowl of chicken, she shook her head. “He eats so fast. Wan’er, if you don’t start eating soon, there won’t be any left.”
"It's alright, let him eat." Wan'er looked at Er Gou with heartache, her eyes immediately welling up with tears. "Brother Gou is pitiful enough. He's been an orphan since he was a child. He's always alone. If it weren't for kind neighbors like you taking care of him, he wouldn't be able to eat anything good."
"You're such a kind child. I killed this hen for you, and so did you..."
"Hmph!" Hearing his aunt's unspoken message, the uncle coughed urgently to stop her.
The aunt realized she had said something wrong, quickly swallowed the words she was about to utter, picked up a piece of chicken from her bowl and put it in Wan'er's bowl, "Eat some quickly, it won't taste good if it gets cold!"
Hearing her aunt's words, Wan'er felt a pang of sadness. She pretended to be casual and lowered her head, shoveling rice into her mouth while keeping her eyes on the little prince and secretly pushing the chicken aside.
After Er Gou ate three large bowls of rice, he picked up the soup bowl in front of him and gulped down another large bowl of soup...
"Burp!" Er Gou hugged his stomach with both hands, tilted his head back and burped. Then he leaned back, stretched his legs to the sides and forward, closed his eyes and opened his mouth slightly, and quickly fell asleep.
