Hello everyone.
I am xiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii——Gua'er~
I've finished writing my closing remarks.
Actually, I don't think many people on Tomato (a popular Chinese online literature platform) write farewell messages after the series ends; maybe it's a different custom.
But I always write a post after finishing a story, and I promised to write one, so I'll do it again.
This book has 1.25 million words, which is about 500,000 words more than I expected—it's very long. Of course, compared to my previous books of two or three million words, it's still slightly shorter, but I still think it's very long.
Because this is a purely slice-of-life story, and it's also the first time I've written a novel in this style.
Congratulations! It's finally come to a successful conclusion.
From an author's perspective, the difficult part of writing this book wasn't the plot itself, but rather how to develop the plot that was already planned, and in what way to develop it.
That's the beauty of everyday life. Everyone has a life to live, right?
But that's also the downside of everyday life. Because everyone has a life, it takes a bit of brainpower to write about it in a fresh and interesting way.
I'd say my writing skills are a bit unpredictable; they need to be understood. If someone gets the joke, I'm pretty happy—well, not really—but if they don't, they'll think I'm just writing filler.
—It's actually the Redmi theory I mentioned before.
—Although many people think I'm padding the word count, those are truly my heartfelt words!
See, this is what you need to get.
Although I said the plot wasn't difficult to write, let's talk about it a little.
What's rare about this book is that it doesn't spend a lot of time describing how the male and female protagonists meet. The reason why the female protagonist falls for the male protagonist is explained in only about one chapter. If you only read that one chapter, you might think the female protagonist is a bit of a pushover.
But as you read on, you'll probably understand why the female lead likes the male lead—the reason for her liking him isn't explained by formulaic "being moved" or similar phrases, but rather by the male lead's everyday behavior.
Both the male and female leads are very interesting.
The male protagonist is mature yet quite childish, possessing a strong sense of youthfulness—it's difficult to write, especially for someone my age, but thankfully I managed to write it.
And the female lead—
There's not much to say, just one word: perfect.
Cool and aloof yet playful.
I love it!
Of course, I hope you like it.
However, when I read the comments, I found that many people like Chu Chu, Xiao Ma, Xia Tudou, Chen Dan, and Sister Lezi—it's okay, I like the female lead!
Speaking of comments.
Let's talk about the readers again. I've seen many people ask me to start a fan group.
But I still didn't open it.
Two reasons.
Firstly, I believe the best communication between the author and the reader is within the lines of the novel. Writing a novel has a certain mystique. If you're too familiar with the author, it's easy to lose immersion in the story.
The perfect way to communicate is for me to update, you to look at it, and then if you can comment, you can comment.
The second reason is irrelevant.
—I'm lazy and don't want to manage.
Ha ha.
However, just by looking at the comments, I've also remembered quite a few readers.
Let me pick a few to talk about.
For example, there's Shi Wuwang, the Wolf King, Sister Lezi's suitors, Chu Chu's lackeys, and so on...
I was deeply impressed.
Yes, it left a deep impression...
alright.
Actually, there's not much to say; everything I could say is already written in the book.
I just feel a bit sentimental.
I remember Michael Jordan once said something to the effect of, "I don't want to be in the Hall of Fame. Being in the Hall of Fame means I'll never be able to come back. If I'm not in the Hall of Fame, even if I retire, I can come back anytime."
My thoughts when I wrote my closing remarks were something like that.
After I finish writing this farewell message, I will no longer write this book.
I will not be writing any more, neither the main story nor the side stories.
The story of Lu Yibei and Ji Qingqian officially ends here.
However, after knowing everyone for so long, it wouldn't be right not to show my appreciation, right?
Okay, I'll sing one of my favorite songs.
It's been a long time since I sang.
It was a talent show.
Cough cough.
"Ping-pong battle against the enemy"
"Brushing teeth, washing face, and drinking soda are all victories in this battle."
"Upholding justice and chivalry is my principle."
…
"Fruit Warriors, you can't imagine!"
"Holding the divine sword, let hope bloom perfectly~~"
Along the Qiantang River seawall, there were small outdoor karaoke booths where you could sing for three yuan a time. Ji Qingqian listened to the young people singing softly. Then her boyfriend beside her started humming along.
"good."
Lu Yibei gave Ji Qingqian a thumbs up and said, "That guy sang really well, he's just as good as me."
