"Boiled fish."
Jiang Chenzhou placed the pot of boiled fish next to Yu Qiuchi, and then sat down next to Yu Qiuchi himself, taking the seat first.
"Did you make this?" Yu Qiuchi asked, looking at the delicious-looking boiled fish in front of him.
"Hmm." Jiang Chenzhou nodded indifferently, his expression unchanged.
Song Yaozhu handed over a bottle of milk, a pink can with a cat's head drawn on it, which looked very cute, but the color contrasted sharply with the guy's all-black outfit.
Yu Qiuchi looked at Song Yaozhuo with some questions. Seeing that Yu Qiuchi did not answer for a long time, Song Yaozhuo explained, "Milk, to relieve the spiciness."
Then, after a pause, he added, "Strawberry flavor, it's delicious."
Song Yaozhuo's ears now have a faint pink tinge.
Out of politeness, Yu Qiuchi accepted the milk and thanked him, but he didn't like drinking milk, especially strawberry flavor. He could smell it, but he wouldn't drink it. Song Yaozhuo unknowingly stepped on Yu Qiuchi's sore spot again.
"Is this cola chicken wing burnt?" Yu Qiuchi asked, looking at the somewhat blackened chicken wing in front of him.
Xie Tingsi was a little embarrassed. He had originally wanted to show off, but he got so caught up in the show that he forgot about the chicken wings.
"Yes, I accidentally didn't get the cooking time right. Qiu Chi, why don't you eat something else?" Xie Tingsi pulled the plate of slightly burnt chicken wings closer to himself.
[Oh dear, did you not get the timing right, or did you fail to control your eyes and your heart?]
[Tang Yan Sweet Spicy Hot Pot, and this is a mixed stew for five people, haha!]
Yu Qiuchi didn't think much of it. People who just wait to be fed have no right to complain about the cook. He'll eat whatever the cook makes.
Ignoring Xie Tingsi's objections, Yu Qiuchi picked up a chicken wing, took a bite, and nodded to Xie Tingsi: "It's alright. Although it doesn't look very appealing, the taste is still acceptable."
Since the group didn't eat at the restaurant, and the tables were rectangular, Gu Xiaojun was seated directly opposite Yu Qiuchi.
Seeing that Yu Qiuchi really liked stir-fried shrimp, he rearranged the dishes, replacing the boiled fish fillets with them: "Qiuchi, do you really like shrimp?"
"Huh? Well, not really..." Yu Qiuchi looked at the shrimp in front of him with some embarrassment... He didn't really like eating shrimp, but of all the dishes, shrimp was the easiest to handle, since he didn't have to spit out the bones and it wasn't stir-fried with other dishes he didn't want to eat.
But this action displeased Jiang Chenzhou, who quietly tugged at Yu Qiuchi's sleeve, his tone tinged with grievance: "Isn't the boiled fish slice delicious?"
"It tastes pretty good." Yu Qiuchi was a little confused.
"Then why..." Jiang Chenzhou wanted to say why not eat more, but he felt that it was not a good thing to say, as if he was forcing Yu Qiuchi to eat.
Although Jiang Chenzhou hadn't finished speaking, Yu Qiuchi, always quick-witted, understood the meaning behind Jiang Chenzhou's unfinished words: "The boiled fish slices are delicious, but I don't really like coriander."
“I don’t like coriander either, I think it has a weird taste! Qiuchi, what about you?” Xie Tingsi said with a smile.
"I used to eat it, but once I lost a game with my friends and had to eat half a coriander cake as a dare. Ever since then, I really don't want to see coriander again." Yu Qiuchi seemed to be thinking of some bad experience and quickly picked up a piece of shrimp to calm herself down.
But who knew that in his haste, he choked on the shrimp, his face turning bright red, the shrimp stuck in his throat, which startled the other four people.
Jiang Chenzhou quickly patted Yu Qiuchi's back with one hand and took the shrimp that Yu Qiuchi spat out with the other, while Song Yaozhu handed over the bottle of strawberry milk.
Because the shrimp was extremely spicy, Yu Qiuchi felt a burning sensation in his throat. With tears welling up in his eyes, he didn't look at the milk that Song Yaozhuo handed him and gulped down a large mouthful.
The spiciness in her mouth was replaced by a sweet and sour taste, and Yu Qiuchi didn't react because she swallowed so quickly.
He looked up at Jiang Chenzhou and apologized, then took the tissue Gu Xiaojun handed him and wiped the drool off Jiang Chenzhou's hand.
The moment Yu Qiuchi touched Jiang Chenzhou's hand, Jiang Chenzhou's body stiffened. He looked at the hair ornament on Yu Qiuchi's head and thought of the way Yu Qiuchi's eyes were wet just now. He pursed his lips slightly.
Xie Tingsi was a bit funny; he brought the bucket of vinegar from the kitchen and placed it on the table in front of Yu Qiuchi.
"Cough cough... What is this?" Yu Qiuchi was a little shocked.
Xie Tingsi said with some concern, "It's a folk remedy. The old folks say that if you get a fishbone stuck in your throat, you should drink vinegar."
Yu Qiuchi remained silent.
"It's best to see a doctor... seek medical treatment scientifically."
[My wife looks so adorable when she chokes!!... Yu Qiuchi's eyes reddened, and tears slowly streamed down her face, but Jiang Chenzhou was still not satisfied. He whispered, "So delicate," but it was full of doting affection as he gently wiped away the dripping tears with his fingers...]
[Teacher (hands over a pen): Please debut here.]
[Haha, thanks for being so brilliant, but my mom said something similar before.]
"Are you feeling better?" Xie Tingsi asked with concern as he leaned closer.
Yu Qiuchi nodded: "Much better."
But her throat still hurt, so Gu Xiaojun handed her a glass of water, which Yu Qiuchi took small sips of.
Her lips, already red from the choking, became even more alluring with the moisture. Gu Xiaojun looked at those plump lips with a meaningful gaze. He subtly glanced at Jiang Chenzhou and Xie Tingsi, noticing that they were also looking at Yu Qiuchi.
Gu Xiaojun subconsciously ignored Song Yaozhuo, mainly because Song Yaozhuo only had a slight presence when Yu Qiuchi was around; otherwise, he was like air. His arrogant demeanor was handsome, but too distant. In addition, he was very quiet and rarely took the initiative to communicate with others. Even if someone tried to talk to him, he would be a conversation killer.
