After finishing their meal, Qiao Lian'er and her companion didn't rush to leave. Instead, they chatted and exchanged pleasantries with the brother and sister. It was hot during the day, but the evenings were cool and breezy. The sky was filled with a bright moon and stars, and looking up at the sky made them feel much more at ease.
For some reason, Qiao Lian'er always felt that the brother and sister were not being sincere, as if they were hiding something.
A soldier appeared at the entrance of the small courtyard.
"But So, Uncle has guests and needs a translator. Let's go quickly."
It was common for work to come in the evening, but Suo immediately got up: "I'm going to translate for Uncle Yin. Miss Shui and Young Master Bai, you live upstairs, come up with us. Xida, you should go to sleep early."
"Okay, let's go." Qiao Lian'er got up from the futon on the ground.
So, he dug a small hole in the floor of the house, buried the ruby, and covered it with something.
After the others left, Xida went into the house and closed the door. She sat on the edge of the bed, feeling restless and filled with worries.
"Which country's caravan is this?" Danso asked one of the soldiers.
"Don't ask, you'll find out when we get there." The soldier's expression was a little strange in the moonlight.
"But Suo, Uncle Yin has treated you very well. If you dare to hide anything from Uncle Yin, he will not let you off easily."
Dansuo's heart skipped a beat: "How could I dare to betray Uncle Yin? I have always done whatever Uncle Yin asked me to do, and I have never disobeyed him."
The soldier chuckled: "If you got something really good, something extremely valuable, would you give it to Uncle Yin?"
From the moment this soldier appeared, Qiao Lian'er felt that he was acting strangely, as if he had something on his mind.
She had a sudden inspiration and searched on the spatial translator, and actually found a language translation for the Kingdom of Puchen.
Listening to the soldier's sinister words and seeing Dansuo's unnatural expression, Qiao Lian'er wondered if Dansuo had something that Uncle Yin was interested in.
But Solo's fingers twitched, clenching into a fist in nervousness as he tried to calm the growing panic in his heart.
He immediately had two guesses: one was that the soldier was not completely dead and had revealed information.
Secondly, there were other people who witnessed Cidda finding the ruby.
He really didn't know how to answer the soldier's question.
What law stipulates that good things should be given to Inshu? It's not like it's Inshu's territory, how can there be such a shameless request? Even Naga Buddha didn't say such a thing.
However, because his uncle was extremely powerful, he naturally couldn't speak his mind.
"I--"
"Cough cough cough." Qiao Lian'er suddenly coughed, and everyone's eyes fell on her.
"Are you alright?" Pei Shijiu hesitated before reaching out to pat her back. He not only had feelings for her, but also respected her. Both of them were unmarried, and he was usually very careful even when he touched her sleeve.
"Alright." Qiao Lian'er resumed her composure as if nothing had happened.
The soldier then realized that there were two other people following them, people that Uncle Yin was somewhat wary of. He decided to talk to Uncle Yin first to avoid alerting them.
Qiao Lian'er used her mind to tell Pei Shijiu what she had heard.
