Yue Lanxing glanced back at the door. He had already stood up. He turned back and pressed Xu Zhaoyue's hand down again, then leaned down and kissed her once more.
This time, they only had a brief encounter before parting ways. Xu Zhaoyue stared blankly at him, not expecting him to suddenly return. "Miss, remember to remove your makeup." His deep voice perfectly captured Xu Zhaoyue's preferences.
Xu Zhaoyue waited until he left before covering her tingling ears, which felt burning hot to the touch.
The next morning, Xu Zhaoyue took several deep breaths before getting out of bed. While combing her hair, Xiao Nan asked her, "Miss, are you hot? Why does your face look a little red?"
"Huh? Oh, maybe I was covered up in the blanket for a while. Where's Yue Lanxing?" Xu Zhaoyue casually made up an excuse and changed the subject.
Xiao Nan actually saw Yue Lanxing just now. "He went out a long time ago, probably to go for a run in the back."
"Okay, that's enough, no need for blush." Xu Zhaoyue stopped Xiaonan from applying blush, saying that it would only make her face redder if she applied it.
When Xu Zhaoyue went downstairs for dinner, she immediately saw Yue Lanxing there. Yue Lanxing heard the footsteps and looked over. The two looked at each other and then looked away in tacit agreement.
They ate meals as usual and went to work as usual, but Yue Lanxing didn't accompany Xu Zhaoyue when she saw the bodyguards off. However, the separation was short, only two hours.
Yue Lanxing came in carrying a stack of rectangular drawings. "Hey, you're back. Have you had lunch yet?" Xu Zhaoyue knew it was him without even looking up.
When she saw what he was holding, she became curious again, "You went to get these things? What are they?"
"I got this from those shops, it's..." Yue Lanxing looked at the thing in her hand, unsure how to begin. Xu Zhaoyue, however, didn't think too much of it, assuming it was some kind of information from those shops.
"What documents are these? I just got back and haven't had time to have them report yet. Have you been managing them all this time?" Xu Zhaoyue reached for the papers.
Yue Lanxing suddenly took a step back. "Uh, this isn't some kind of information."
Seeing Yue Lanxing's reaction, Xu Zhaoyue became even more curious. "What is that?" She walked up to Yue Lanxing and pressed the paper down. "What is this?" Xu Zhaoyue knew that it was a design drawing, but what was Yue Lanxing going to do with it?
When Xu Zhaoyue asked Yue Lanxing such a serious question, Yue Lanxing stammered, "I...I just wanted to see what styles of rings were available first."
"Rings?" Xu Zhaoyue flipped through a few more pages and, sure enough, there were different styles of rings. Yue Lanxing's intentions were obvious.
Xu Zhaoyue had no objection, but she wasn't entirely accepting of it either. "I'm not planning to get married right now, but if you're really keen on it, I can compromise and get engaged first."
Yue Lanxing's heart sank when she heard the first sentence, but then miraculously, she felt better. "Okay, I'll listen to you. Just tell me the time, and I'll take care of the rest."
"Cui Cui and the bodyguards have already set off back. After Grandma Qin arrives, we'll ask for her opinion first, as well as the opinions of the Jin and Qin families, and also about the weather..."
Xu Zhaoyue carried a large pile of things. She secretly observed Yue Lanxing's expression and found that he showed no impatience whatsoever, and had even memorized them all.
