Ye Qingyu's Side Story 17

I nodded in response, "I understand."

My dad finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After dinner, I carried buckets of water inside and poured them into the inner bucket. The woman, who wasn't wearing any clothes and was only covered by a thin sheet, stared straight at me.

Her eyes are very beautiful.

My skin is also very good, even better than before.

"May I have your name?"

A harsh sound entered my ears, and my face contorted in pain. I turned to look at her; it was just the two of us in the room. I didn't say anything; it must be her.

Her voice was truly awful, like a dull stone, and hoarse.

I have never heard such an awful sound.

I ignored her, not because her voice was unpleasant, but because my dad told me not to talk to her.

I huffed and puffed as I carried the water, pouring it into the tank bucket by bucket. Then, I put the bucket down, put my hands on my hips, and pointed to the tank, which was already half full of water.

He pointed at her again.

She laughed: "Why won't you talk to me?"

I ignored it.

He then pointed to the vat.

She said, "I can heal your face."

I ignored it. As a man, this ugly face is of no importance to me. Besides, in this godforsaken place, the uglier the face, the better.

After a while, seeing that I was still unmoved, she seemed to find it boring and stopped talking to me. She got up from the bed and went naked into the tub.

I listened to my dad and started helping her take a bath.

I have to say, I really feel like a maid. No, I am a maid, and an ugly one at that.

LOL.

The water was river water, freezing cold, and so was she; her body was icy.

I suddenly remembered that night again.

Having stayed here for so long, I know how dangerous the mountains are. There are wolves, wild boars, foxes, weasels, snakes, and all sorts of things.

How could a woman like her be in the mountains?

They still do that kind of thing late at night.

My dad was talking about that thing.

That person also said.

She's not human!

I felt like an idiot, as if I had just realized this, and my hand, which was helping her take a bath, paused.

I looked at her and found her staring straight at me. I shuddered and instinctively tried to pull my hand back, but she grabbed it.

Her hands were freezing cold.

I almost spoke, but I held back.

My dad said not to talk to her.
