Chapter 15 Selling Medicine

The next day, before dawn, Daniu would go to town. The prey he had caught yesterday couldn't be kept for long, or it would go bad, so he had to sell it quickly while it was fresh.

When Tian An got up, Daniu was about to leave. She quickly called out, "Brother Daniu, wait for me, I want to go too."

She quickly packed up, picked up the small backpack from yesterday and followed him out.

"Brother Danniu, why didn't you call me? You made me wake up late."

Daniu thought to himself, I left so early just to avoid waiting for you. I don't want to be kicked out of the pharmacy with you.

"Brother Daniu, how many pharmacies are there in town? I haven't been to the town in years, so I don't know."

Daniel: “…”

There are only a few! There's only one pharmacy in town, and they're very busy, so they don't have time to mess around with you.

"Brother Daniu, I want to buy some more things with the money I earned from selling them. Many families in the village have already started their spring plowing, but our land is still empty."

Daniel: “…………”

Are you sure you can sell your weeds? Then start thinking about buying things.

By the time they reached town, half an hour had passed. Tian An put down his backpack and sat on it, not wanting to move at all. He'd spent the entire day climbing the mountain yesterday. After a nap, his calves were terribly sore. This morning, he'd walked for another half hour, and now his feet felt like they weren't his own.

Daniu looked quite relaxed. In the past, he'd walked faster and reached the destination in half the time. Today, to accommodate Tian An, he'd taken twice as long, and he'd barely rested on the way.

After a short rest, Tian An quickly got up. He had to accompany Da Niu to sell the prey!

The restaurant had just started working, and the prey had to be sent over and processed by the staff, which took a long time, and it wouldn't be served until dinner time. If you go too late, it will be too late and you will be forced to pay a lower price.

Da Niu took Tian An to the back door of the restaurant where he often sold game. He knocked on the door, and soon someone came out to see what was there. Seeing that it was fresh, he took all of it.

They were all sold frequently, and the prices were fixed. They went in to have their goods weighed and then waited for the cashier to collect their payment. A fat rabbit and two pheasants sold for a total of 310 coins.

After taking the money, Tian An asked Da Niu to take her to the pharmacy.

Seeing that he couldn't escape, Da Niu had no choice but to bite the bullet and take Tian An to the only pharmacy in town.

When the two arrived, it was still early and there was no one in the pharmacy except the shopkeeper wiping the counter.

"Boss, would you like to buy some medicinal herbs? I have a wild ginseng."

The shopkeeper said: "Where is it? I need to take a look first."

Tian An quickly put down the backpack.

The big cow beside her had always thought that what she had in her basket was weeds, and now she was saying it was wild ginseng. Thinking that the shopkeeper would probably kick her out, he suddenly felt a little embarrassed and turned his head away.

Tian An first took out the wild ginseng from his backpack and showed it to the shopkeeper, then sorted the other herbs and placed them on the counter. Although the quantity of each type was not large, they were all well organized and all the same.

The shopkeeper nodded after looking at it. He was a little disappointed with the wild ginseng; it wasn't very old. But then again, it's not easy to find wild ginseng this old.

"The herbs are well organized, but they're all worthless and the quantity is quite small. This wild ginseng is good, but it's too young to sell for much."

Tian An thought that what the shopkeeper said was true, and there was only one such pharmacy in the town, so he said, "Then how much can the shopkeeper pay for these herbs?"

The shopkeeper thought for a moment and said, "Thirty cents for the herbs! How about five taels of silver for the wild ginseng?"

It's pretty much what I expected, and there's no other choice.

"Okay, I'll trouble you, boss. Boss, I'll come back to you when I need more herbs. I bet you'll keep buying them!"

The shopkeeper didn't dare to say anything too confident, so he said, "That depends on what herbs you picked."

"Don't worry, boss. I can't just take anything from you."

The shopkeeper took the medicine and paid Tian An.

The big guy standing by was dumbfounded. He was originally thinking about how to comfort Tian An when she was kicked out by the shopkeeper! But he didn't expect that in the blink of an eye, Tian An actually walked out of the pharmacy with the money.

Were those weeds really medicinal herbs? Were those roots, which were no thicker than cilantro, really wild ginseng? And they sold them for five taels of silver? That girl paid me a month's worth in just one afternoon?

"Brother Daniel, let's go"

When Tian An walked out of the pharmacy, he found that Da Niu was still in the pharmacy, so he had to turn back and call out again.

When Da Niu heard Tian An calling him, he came to his senses and hurried out of the pharmacy.

Along the way, Tian An noticed that Da Niu was looking at her intentionally or unintentionally. His eyes were as if he was looking at something rare, which made her feel uneasy.

When she noticed Daniu looking at her for the nth time, she finally couldn't help but said, "Brother Daniu, just say whatever you want to say. Don't keep looking at me like that. It's creepy."

Having been caught, Daniu said uncomfortably, "You told me to say this!"

"Okay, okay, I told you to say it." Tian An said helplessly. Tian An knew what he was going to say, and she had already thought of the excuse anyway.

"How do you know how to identify medicinal herbs? When did you learn it? Why haven't I heard of it before?"

Tian Anxin said, there are many things you haven’t heard of!

Tian An looked around, pulled him down and nodded, and whispered mysteriously: "I once met an old doctor. He said I had a talent for medicine, so he taught me for a while. When I was at the Tian family, I knew Aunt Qian was not a kind person, so I kept it a secret from them."

Da Niu looked at me again, half believing and half doubting.

Tian An didn't care about him and just held his head high and let him look at him.
