Chapter 38

Chapter 38

As soon as he entered the water, Su He flapped his wings a few times and began to sink. Sheng Jinyu quickly pulled him out of the water and shouted, "You can't swim!?"

Su He coughed a few times and shook his head guiltily: "I, I'm not very good at it."

Su He felt guilty that a person who grew up in a city like Guangzhou couldn't swim. He thought the original owner might know how to swim, but he grew up in an inland city and didn't like soaking in water. He tried to learn but didn't succeed.

Sheng Jinyu said no more. He looked around and saw many lifebuoys dropped by the safety officers floating on the sea. He pushed Su He's chin and swam over. He stuffed the man into the lifebuoy before he breathed a sigh of relief.

Su He held on to the lifebuoy tightly and looked back.

They had already been pushed far away from the boat by the waves, and swimming back was against the wind and waves.

Sheng Jinyu tried to drag him several times, but human power was ultimately no match for the power of the waves, and the waves and the wind pushed them further and further away.

"It seems that the shore is not far away." Su He raised his head and pointed to the shore not far away.

Sheng Jinyu looked around for a few moments before making a decision: "Swim towards the shore."

He took off his tie, tied one end to the knot of Su He's lifebuoy, passed the other end around his wrist, held it tightly in his palm, and swam towards the vaguely visible shore.

Su He looked at the rope connecting the two of them, and said weakly, trying to liven up the atmosphere at this moment: "If we are pulled out like this, will they mistake us for people who committed suicide for love?"

"Who commits suicide for love with a lifebuoy?" Sheng Jinyu thought he was stupid and said without turning his head.

The shore seemed so far away that one could never swim to it, and the only sound between heaven and earth was the sound of water.

"are you tired?"

After an unknown amount of time, Su He felt that Sheng Jinyu's breathing became heavier. He began to try to recall his long-lost teaching memories and tried to tread water along the waves. After a few times, he seemed to have found a way.

"I think I can learn it!" Su He couldn't wait to tell Sheng Jinyu. He held the lifebuoy with one arm and began to paddle with the other arm.

Sheng Jinyu didn't even look at him, and swam forward without stopping: "Stop struggling, I won't go back to get you if you fall in."

"oh."

As expected, Su He was so obedient that he didn't dare to move anymore. He was afraid that he would become a burden, drain Sheng Jinyu's energy, and take away his original chance of survival. He was also a little afraid that he would really be abandoned by the young master and buried in this unknown sea.

Time almost came to a standstill at this moment. The gloomy weather made it impossible to tell the passage of time. At first they would argue with each other, but later they fell silent.

The coast seemed to be very close, but when you actually tried to get closer, you found that it was not an easy task.

Fortunately, they left the storm area halfway, the sea was no longer rough, and the waves with the wind began to push the two of them towards the shore little by little.

For a long time, Su He was shivering from the cold sea water, with only the sound of the waves rolling and Sheng Jinyu's heavy but steady breathing in his ears.

The sky gradually darkened.

When Su He was dragged ashore by Sheng Jinyu, lights were already on on the unfamiliar shore. He fell sideways on the wet sand, almost suffocating. He rubbed his numb hands from the cold and looked up to find the tall figure.

He saw Sheng Jinyu half-kneeling on the sand, his arms supporting himself on the sand trembling slightly, his chest heaving violently as he gasped for breath. He had probably used up all his strength in the sea, and his face had turned pale.

Su He panicked. His legs were weak and he couldn't stand up. He could only crawl over on all fours to support him. "Sheng Jinyu, how are you?"

The man kneeling on the ground slowly turned over and lay on his legs with a thud, his eyes closed. He had already torn off several buttons of his white shirt.

"Let me take it easy." Sheng Jinyu said.

Su He knew that Sheng Jinyu must be exhausted, so he lowered his head, touched Sheng Jinyu's stiff arms, and massaged his overused muscles bit by bit. The water on the ends of his hair dripped down, hitting Sheng Jinyu's face one by one.

He opened his eyes impatiently. Su He's wrist was just inches away from his face. The large red mark on the thin wrist was particularly eye-catching.

It was probably left when we caught him on the boat just now. His skin was so delicate that it left marks with just a touch. He was really very delicate.

Sheng Jinyu raised his hand and rubbed his brow, then pulled his arm away and said gloomily, "Don't drip water on me, it's itchy as hell."

"I see."

Su He tilted his head to one side, raised his hand to lift his bangs and tuck them behind his ear. While his hands kept moving, he looked around and observed.

This was probably a coastal town, but it didn't look peaceful. Trash cans were hanging on the tree branches, the roads were covered in mud and sand, and a tangled mass of fishing nets was piled up on the main road. Someone was cleaning it up, and the surrounding houses showed signs of being flooded.

It seems that this place has just experienced a natural disaster.

After resting for ten minutes, Sheng Jinyu stood up and touched his pocket. Fortunately, his cell phone was not lost after the long journey.

Unfortunately, the phone had been submerged in water for too long and could no longer be turned on normally.

He threw it away in annoyance, and Su He hurriedly caught it: "Don't throw it away, maybe it can be used after drying it."

Sheng Jinyu didn't say anything. He let Su He put away his phone, turned around and walked towards a place where there were people, and asked an old man on the roadside to borrow his phone to make a call.

The old man looked at the two people who were soaking wet, and waved his hand with a worried look on his face: "The signal tower has been collapsed. How can we still make a phone call? There is no signal at all!"

Sheng Jinyu paused and turned to look at Su He.

Su He smiled and chatted with the old man for a few words, only then did he know that a typhoon had just passed through the town, which brought about a small-scale tsunami. All the streets along the sea were affected and the town was now in the post-disaster rescue stage.

After saying that, the old man walked away staggeringly.

Now the traffic in the town is paralyzed, the signal is blocked, and it has almost become an isolated island. The two of them are penniless and have only two black bricks that cannot be turned on.

When Su He encountered a difficult situation, he would subconsciously bite his lips. At this moment, he was unconsciously biting his lower lip, thinking about where they should go.

When he came to his senses, Sheng Jinyu had already walked a long way away, leaving a trail of wet footprints on the beach.

He quickly caught up with her, muttering, "I can only find someone to stay with me."

Sheng Jinyu remained noncommittal. This was indeed one of the few solutions available at the moment.

After walking along the beach for dozens of meters, Su He was still lagging behind Sheng Jinyu, a few steps behind him.

He suddenly heard a cry not far away. The voice was thin and sharp, as if a child was calling for help. Su He went to the source of the sound and found a little boy stuck in the crevice of the rocks on the shore.

"Can you wait for me?" Su He ran a few steps quickly and shouted without looking back.

Sheng Jinyu looked over and asked, "What are you doing?"

"A child fell into the water!" Su He didn't bother to talk to him and ran to the reef.

Sheng Jinyu made a "tsk" sound, with an extremely reluctant look on his face, but still turned around and chased after him.

The gaps between the reefs were very narrow, and the little boy's feet were stuck in the wind, and he screamed "Ouch, ouch". It was the time of high tide at night, and the boy was lying face down, with the waves hitting him and choking him, causing him to cough continuously.

In a while, the rising sea water will probably submerge this reef.

Su He lay in the sea water, grabbed the boy's clothes, and pulled him out of the water. The boy saw the life-saving straw and shouted in surprise: "Big brother, save me!!"

"I wish you prosperity, I wish you happiness, please save me!" The boy was a chatterbox, and even after saying this he still kept talking.

"Don't be afraid, we will rescue you." Su He comforted.

He stepped on the slippery reef and slipped when he tried to grab the boy's ankle. He almost fell and slammed into a soft wall. He looked back and saw Sheng Jinyu's chest.

Sheng Jinyu pushed him and asked, "How many times have I been your meat cushion?"

Now is not the time to talk nonsense. Su He was not polite to him at all: "Can you help me drag his head?"

He didn't expect Sheng Jinyu to fish the little boy's feet out of the sea. Seeing Sheng Jinyu took it without any expression, Su He immediately leaned over, reached into the sea and began to grope.

When his calf was grabbed and pulled outward, the boy screamed in pain and didn't struggle, but he couldn't stop talking and kept saying all kinds of nonsense to divert his attention from the pain.

Sheng Jinyu said impatiently: "Shut up, if you keep arguing, let go."

The little boy lowered his voice and said aggrievedly, "I, I'm scared."

The night had fallen. Su He groped for a long time like a blind man touching an elephant. When he pulled the boy's feet out from between the rocks, half of his body was already soaked in the sea water.

The little boy, who had been stuck for a long time, finally regained his freedom. He ecstatically climbed up and called out to Sheng Jin, bowing sharply: "Big brother, thank you for saving me. I thought I was going to die!"

Sheng Jin turned around lazily and pulled Su He over: "Thank him."

The little boy was obviously more relaxed when facing Su He. He hugged his waist and cried and laughed with gratitude, which scared Su He and he waved his hands repeatedly.

In the darkness, Sheng Jinyu chuckled and stood aside with his arms crossed, watching.

A child's emotions come and go quickly. Soon the little boy stopped crying and followed them to the shore, dragging a bundle of fishing nets and talking incoherently.

"Big Brother, you guys are dressed like you're from a movie. Are you coming to visit us? The typhoon just left, there's nothing much to do here. Where are you from?"

Su He said honestly, "It came from the sea."

"Ah? Are you transformed from a sea monster? No wonder you're all wet!"

"We fell off the boat and had nowhere to go."

"Then you can come to my house! It's just me and my mommy at home right now, and there are plenty of empty rooms!"

Su He smiled and patted the boy's head: "Do you always introduce yourself to people you don't know like this?"

"You are different. You are good people." The boy pulled the fishing net on his shoulder and said happily.

This was their original plan. Su He looked at Sheng Jinyu, who had no objection, so it was finalized and the boy began to lead them home.

The boy kept chattering along the way: "My name is Ayu, Yu as in universe, what are your names, big brothers?"

Su He pointed at Sheng Jinyu and said, "What a coincidence, this big brother is also called Ah Yu. He is a different kind of Yu."

The "different" young master tilted his head and glared at him, seemingly dissatisfied with the title. Su He smiled at Sheng Jin and his eyes curved.

The boy's eyes widened. "Really? What's your name, big brother?"

"His name is Ahe, meaning River."

Someone answered quickly.

Su He glared at Sheng Jinyu and said angrily, "It's the 'dried' 'He'!"

Sheng Jinyu was unmoved: "It doesn't sound good, call me Xiaohe."

"What's so nice about the little river?" Su He stared at him relentlessly.

"There is water in the river, water brings wealth and good luck." Sheng Jinyu said to himself.

Su He said listlessly, "But why do I feel like I have a conflict with water?"

Sheng Jinyu looked at him and said nothing.
