Chapter 137 I Won’t Send You Next Time

Having not seen each other for more than half a year, the old couple were so happy to see An Ci that they took An Ci aside and asked him about his well-being.

An Ci answered every question and made the old couple smile.

She took out a small box and placed it on the table. She opened it and said, "Grandma, these two bottles of medicine are for you and Grandpa. The blue bottle is for you, and the white bottle is for Grandpa. Take one pill a day. It's good for your health."

Madam Song picked up one of the bottles and looked at it, then asked curiously, "Where did this medicine come from?"

"I met an old Chinese doctor in Continent M and bought it from him." An Ci said calmly, "My grandfather also eats it."

Old Madam Song opened the bottle cap and smelled it, and a faint scent of Chinese medicine came out of the bottle.

She looked at An Ci and asked, "Is there anything I should avoid when taking this medicine?"

You should know that you can eat anything you want, but you can’t take anything you want.

An Ci said, "No need to avoid certain foods. This medicine is for conditioning the body. One pill a day will strengthen your body."

Hearing this, Old Madam Song smiled and said, "Our son is so thoughtful."

Across from him, Song Yuan was busy eating the food the old couple brought back.

He said in a vague voice, "Grandpa, this cake tastes good. You should buy more next time."

Mr. Song glanced at him and asked, "Have you received your diploma?"

Song Yuan nodded and swallowed the cake in his mouth, with crumbs still on the corner of his mouth. "Well, I finished the formalities yesterday."

"When are you going on the trip?" Old Madam Song asked.

Song Yuan said, "The day after tomorrow."

Before he finished speaking, Shen Mo walked in from outside, with Fugui following him and circling around him.

He greeted them politely, "Grandpa Song, Grandma Song."

"Xiao Mo is here, come and have some cakes." Old Madam Song said with a smile, "Don't let Xiao Yuan eat all of them."

The seat next to An Ci was taken by Song Xi and Old Madam Song, so Shen Mo had to sit next to Song Yuan.

An Ci is across the street.

"This one is not sweet, try it." An Ci picked out the lightest-tasting pastry from the pile of pastries, picked up a piece and handed it to Shen Mo.

Shen Mo took it, but didn't eat it immediately.

"Xiao Mo, you don't look well. Are you sick?" Old Madam Song was very perceptive and immediately noticed that Shen Mo's face was a little pale.

An Ci answered for him, "He has a cold."

Madam Song asked with concern, "Is it serious? Have you taken the pills?"

Shen Mo said, "Eat it."

An Ci stood up and walked in front of Song Yuan, "Cousin, change seats."

Song Yuan rolled his eyes at her, stood up to make room for her, and sat on another sofa.

Looking at the person sitting next to him, Shen Mo's expression softened, "I'm going to go out later. No one is at home to look after Fugui."

An Ci leaned back, his posture casual, and asked, "Where are you going?"

"Go meet someone with Uncle Che."

He didn't elaborate, and An Ci didn't want to ask further, so he just asked, "What time will you be back?"

Shen Mo pursed his lips slightly, "It's hard to say."

"Will you come back after dinner?"

"Maybe." Even though he knew he wouldn't come back, he didn't say anything definite. He knew she hated being lied to, and he didn't want to be hated by her.

Perhaps because he managed his expression so well, An Ci didn't get suspicious. He took out a packet of cold medicine from his pocket and said, "Drink it first."

She got up and went to the kitchen to find a cup, and Shen Mo followed her.

Looking at the person standing in front of the sink washing cups, Shen Mo stared at her back and looked at her intently for a long time.

After washing the cup, An Ci skillfully made a cup of instant solution. When he turned around, he bumped into Shen Mo's dark eyes. His eyes were calm, but seemed to carry unspeakable emotions.

She was startled, and before she could elaborate, he suddenly raised the corner of his mouth and said, "What do you want to eat? I'll buy it for you later."

An Ci came back to his senses, walked up to him, and handed him the cup. "Would you like to buy the strawberry milkshake?"

Shen Mo took the cup and whispered, "No."

"Why?" An Ci looked up at him with accusatory eyes.

Shen Mo drank the cold medicine, his eyes falling on her face intentionally or unintentionally, "You've been drinking it for two days in a row. It's too cold. You can't drink too much. Change to something else."

An Ci curled her lips, reached out to snatch the cake from his hand, and took a vicious bite, "I should have known not to make you some instant medicine."

Shen Mo drank the powder in the cup in one breath, lowered his head and took the remaining pastry from her hand.

"I'll buy it for you, okay?"

Hearing this, An Ci's eyes lit up and he was immediately happy, "Okay, you said it."

Shen Mo nodded slightly, the pastry melted in his mouth, diluting the bitter taste of the powder.

After having lunch at Villa No. 1, Shen Mo was about to leave.

Before leaving, he looked at the person curled up on the sofa watching TV, walked over and rubbed her head.

"Leave."

An Ci raised his head and looked at him, "Don't forget to buy it for me."

Shen Mo's voice was slightly hoarse, "Okay."

"By the way, wear an extra coat when you go out." An Ci frowned when he saw the thin sweatshirt on him.

"Don't catch a cold again before you recover from your cold."

Shen Mo said "hmm" and walked away with his long legs. His tall back showed a bit of determination.

Unfortunately, before An Ci realized it, he was attracted by Eric's phone call.

She answered the call and chatted with Eric about the club.

Back at Villa No. 3, the door was open and Shi Che came out.

He said, "I've put your suitcase and backpack in the car. See if there's anything else you want to take."

Shen Mo nodded, walked past him into the house, and then went straight to the room upstairs.

Walking into the bedroom, Shen Mo took out a letter from under the pillow, stroking the envelope with his fingertips, and his eyes gradually darkened.
