Chapter 81 But I Want to Help You (1)

She averted her gaze, walked slowly at the end, and put one hand into her coat pocket to take out her cell phone.

She tapped Shen Mo's profile picture with her fingertips. Too lazy to type, she sent a voice message directly. Her soft tone was a little hoarse from just waking up, "Shen Mo, when will you be back?"

As soon as the message was sent, her phone screen went black and the battery was out.

An Ci narrowed his eyes, put his phone back in his pocket, and walked slowly into the kitchen. "Auntie Hong, is there anything to eat?"

The food at the temple at noon was all vegetarian, so she only ate a little and is now very hungry.

Aunt Hong smiled and said, "Can I cook you a bowl of noodles?"

An said, "Okay."

"I want to eat too." Eric followed and said with a smile, "Auntie Hong, give me more meat."

"Okay." Aunt Hong said, "You guys go to the dining room and wait."

An Ci turned and walked out, Eric followed her, "Xiao Ci, is Shen Mo back yet? Ask him to come over and play games."

The heater was on in the room, and An Ci felt a little hot. He unzipped his jacket, took it off, and threw it casually on the chair. "Not yet."

"Where did he go?" Eric pulled out a chair and sat opposite her.

An Ci rested one hand on the table, his eyes downcast, his expression nonchalant, "I don't know."

As the night deepened, the snow fell heavier and heavier, and the air was filled with chills.

After dinner, Song Yuan took Eric and Song Xi to set off fireworks in the yard.

An Ci felt cold and hid in the corridor. She put her hands in her pockets, her eyes were stained with a faint crimson, and the tip of her delicate nose was also red from the cold.

Oh shit.

I'm freezing to death.

She took out her cell phone and found that Shen Mo had replied to her message. She had been so busy setting off fireworks that she hadn't noticed.

[Shen Mo: Call me brother.]

Seeing the point he emphasized, An Ci curled his lips into a smile and glanced down.

[Shen Mo: Uncle Che is meeting a friend and will be back later.]

An Ci raised his phone and took a picture in the direction of Song Yuan and the others. After pressing send, he sent another message: "Have you eaten?"

The other person seemed to be staring at the phone and replied quickly: "I ate it."

An Ci was about to ask him what he had eaten when a snowball flew towards her and hit her hard.

“…”

An Ci gritted his teeth and looked up. Song Yuan raised his hands and quickly clarified, "It wasn't me, it was Eric who threw it."

An Ci tilted his head and looked at him with a look that asked, "Do you want to be beaten?"

Eric reflexively hid his hands behind his back and said with a wry smile, "Would you believe me if I said my hand slipped?"

An Ci grinned and said, "I don't believe you at all."

She stuffed her phone into her pocket and rushed towards him aggressively.

Seeing this, Eric ran away, fearing that he would be in trouble if he was a step late.

The fireworks turned into a snowball fight, and An Ci played for a while before sneaking away.

The landscape lights in Jinyuan were all lit up, adding a touch of warmth to the snowy scene late at night.

She ran all the way to the main gate of Jinyuan, where a young man was standing under a street light, holding an exquisite paper bag in his hand.

An Ci said a few words to the security guard at the door. The security guard opened the door for her and she walked in panting.

"Excuse me, please give me the cake."

The young man looked at her with surprise, "Little girl, did you order the cake?"

An Ci was afraid of being discovered if he stayed out too long, so he said perfunctorily, "My mom asked me to come out to get it."

The young man handed the cake to her without any doubt. An Ci thanked him and ran back with the cake.

The snow on the ground was too thick, making running even more difficult. When An Ci ran to Villa No. 2, he was out of breath.

She was sweating all over, and a red mark spread up her face and neck. She took a deep breath, raised her hand and entered the password on the door.

With a beep, the door opened and she pushed it open and walked in.

Everyone gathered in Villa No. 1 and had not returned yet, so no one was home at the moment.

An Ci ran upstairs, hid the cake in the room, then hurried downstairs and left.

Before leaving, she took two bags of potato chips from the table.

An Ci hurried back to Villa No. 1 and met An Lan as soon as he entered the door.

"Baby, where have you been? Why are you sweating?"

An Ci quickly raised the potato chips in his hand and grinned, "I'm going home to get some potato chips."

An Lan was stunned and looked at her doubtfully, "Aren't there potato chips here too?"

An Ci glanced at the potato chip packaging and said quickly, "They don't have this mustard flavor."

Hearing this, An Lan thought about it and believed it. She reached out to wipe her sweat and said, "Why are you running away to get potato chips? Look at how sweaty you are."

An Ci laughed dryly, "I didn't run. I was wearing too much and it was hot."

To prove her point, she pretended to take off her coat.

"Stop messing around and get dressed quickly, or you'll catch a cold." An Lan held her hand to prevent her from taking off her clothes.

An Ci nodded obediently, "Then I'll go play with my cousins."

An Lan said, "Go ahead."

An Ci walked towards the yard holding two bags of potato chips. The moment she turned around, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

That was a close call.

It was almost discovered.

It is a custom to stay up all night on New Year's Eve. Everyone stayed in Villa No. 1 until after midnight, and then went back to rest.

After taking a shower, An Ci walked to the window in her pajamas and saw that the lights in Villa No. 3 were finally on. Her eyes lit up and she turned around to find her cell phone to call Shen Mo.

The phone rang twice before the other party answered. She asked quietly, "Brother, why haven't you come yet?"

On the other end of the phone, Shen Mo had just changed into his pajamas when he suddenly received her call. A hint of surprise appeared in his ink-like eyes, "...I thought you were asleep."

It was already past twelve o'clock when he came back. Usually, she would have been asleep by this time, so he didn't go over.
