Chapter 23 The Promise Between Siblings

Not long after, Wen Zhiyun slowly opened her eyes.

When he saw Jiang Sheng feeding him, his cheeks first turned red, followed by embarrassment and annoyance.

He originally learned kung fu to protect his younger sister, but then he turned around and had his sister feed him medicine. He was really a useless older brother.

Thinking of this, Wen Zhiyun stopped drinking water, staggered to her feet, and buried her head in the blankets.

"Fourth Brother!" Jiang Sheng exclaimed in surprise, "Fourth Brother, what's wrong with you? Are you cold? Even if you're cold, you don't have to cover your head with your clothes on, your butt is still outside."

The person under the quilt, with a bright red face like a maggot, finally crawled completely into the quilt.

How embarrassing! So incredibly embarrassing!

Jiang Sheng put down her bowl and spoon, puzzled, and looked at Zheng Ruqian.

Zheng Ruqian shrugged, indicating that he did not know.

Looking at Changyan, Changyan kept his head down and didn't speak.

With no other option, Jiang Sheng had to ask her eldest brother, Xu Mo, who was considered the smartest in the family, for help.

“I think Xiao Si doesn’t like being so weak.” Xu Mo pondered for a moment and then said slowly, “It’s good to learn kung fu to strengthen your body, but Xiao Si, everyone has different strengths. You don’t have to force yourself to learn kung fu. If you master medical skills, you can still stand tall and protect others and yourself.”

As soon as Xu Mo finished speaking, the entire dilapidated temple fell silent.

Zheng Ruqian was the first to nod, patting his chest and saying, "I'm not as good as my older brothers. I can't study, I don't know kung fu, and I don't know medicine, but I will do a good job in business."

Doing business and making money was the path Zheng Ruqian chose for himself so that he wouldn't be outdone by his brothers.

Fang Heng sighed, "Everyone has their strengths. I know kung fu because I've been practicing since I was a child. That's how it is in a prestigious family. I don't know anything else besides kung fu, and I'm afraid you'll look down on me."

Xu Mo also said quietly, "I only know how to read some classics, which is useless. Sometimes I envy Xiao Si, who can cure diseases and save lives and make a living from it."

After the three finished speaking, Jiang Sheng felt melancholy.

“I have nothing. My second brother is with me when I do business. I don’t know kung fu, I can’t read, and I don’t know medicine.” The little girl looked up and wailed, “It turns out that I am the most useless one.”

As she spoke, she glanced at Changyan and said, "At least Fifth Brother is good-looking; I'm not even as good-looking as him."

Long banquet, "..."

Just as Jiang Sheng was about to burst into tears, Wen Zhiyun timidly peeked out, took her hand tightly, and said, "Jiang Sheng, don't worry, I will always be with you."

“I can do that too,” Zheng Ruqian replied.

“Me too,” Fang Heng retorted.

"Of course, I'll be there too," Xu Mo said with a smile. "We'll stay with our sister, forever and ever."

"Forever and ever," Chang Yan whispered.

This is an agreement.

Never to be invalidated.
