Chapter 31 Accidental Fall into Water

"Wow, you've worked so hard." Chao Yan greeted him warmly and gave Bai Ren a big hug with a happy smile on her face.

"Hahaha, it's no big deal!" Bai Ren said with a hearty laugh, his face full of pride and a sense of accomplishment.

"Thank you for your hard work." Lin Zhirou said to them gently with a smile on her face.

"Yes, thank you for your hard work." Jiang Baizhi also echoed, but her tone was a little stiff.

"It's not hard." Ling Quan's eyes were fixed on Jiang Baizhi, and there seemed to be some deep meaning in his eyes, and he said slowly.

"Hahaha, let's work together." Tan Changqing said with a hearty smile, his face filled with optimism.

Qu Qingdai didn't answer, but just smiled at them. That smile was as gentle as the spring breeze, making people feel warm.

After a five-minute break, they began to head to their next location. Jiang Baizhi, however, was secretly delighted, for the next location was exactly where Ling Quan had told her last night. Ling Quan had told her he was going to make Qu Qingdai look ridiculous in front of everyone. Initially, Jiang Baizhi had been hesitant and reluctant, but now, she had changed her mind. Thinking of how Qu Qingdai had just stolen her climbing assignment, her resentment intensified, and she saw this as the perfect opportunity for revenge.

After much haste, the group finally arrived at the foot of a waterfall. A rushing stream flowed, its water cascading down with a gurgling sound. Stones were placed strategically above the stream, each slab wide enough for two people to cross. Simply stepping on these stones allowed them to cross the stream. However, this seemingly simple process posed considerable danger. The turbulent currents battered the stones, making them slippery and unstable. A single careless step could easily lead to a fall.

Qu Qingdai quietly gazed at the familiar stream before her, her thoughts drifting away, lost in memories of her past life. In her past life, they had also crossed the river here, one by one, stepping on the stone slabs. Back then, Ling Quan led the way, Jiang Baizhi followed closely behind in second place, and she was third.

When she reached the eighth slab, she realized the gap to the ninth was a bit large. Jiang Baizhi told her she would go ahead and explore the path. Jiang Baizhi leaped with all her might, landing safely on the left side of the slab. She turned around and smiled, saying, "It's okay. The slab is stable. Just one more leap." She believed Jiang Baizhi's words, and after she reached the ninth slab, she mustered up her courage and leaped forward.

However, at the moment she jumped over, because she was standing on the right side, the eighth stone slab she landed on also fell on the right side. Jiang Baizhi had just jumped on the left side, and she had no idea whether the right side was safe. Qu Qingdai's jump caused the right side to bear too much pressure, and the stone slab, which was already unstable, suddenly loosened. She panicked in an instant and fell into the rushing stream.

At that time, she unfortunately fell into the water. Although the stream did not seem deep, the fall made her fall in a very embarrassing way. She was soaked and collapsed in the pool in a miserable state. At that time, she had a bad relationship with the other guests of the program. She only had Jiang Baizhi, her so-called "sister", in her heart. However, when she needed help the most, no one extended a helping hand to her. Seeing this scene, the audience complained about her poor popularity and was full of accusations and criticisms towards her.

Later, Jiang Baizhi stepped up and contacted the staff, taking Qu Qingdai away from the scene to change clothes. Just like that, Qu Qingdai withdrew from the treasure hunt because of this accident. She could only return to her room alone and watch Jiang Baizhi successfully find the second treasure chest along with the audience in the live broadcast room.

But today, Qu Qingdai cast her gaze towards the ninth stone slab above the stream, her lips curled up slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile. That smile seemed to hold a profound meaning, one that was hard to fathom.

"Everyone, let's line up according to the previous order and pass through these stone slabs one by one. I observed that each stone slab can only accommodate two people at most, so don't worry, just step on it boldly, it's safe." Ling Quan stood in front and directed in an orderly manner, his voice clear and powerful.

"Okay, Lingquan, you go first, we'll follow closely behind." Jiang Baizhi rarely responded to Lingquan, with a hint of obedience in her tone.

"Well, follow Baizhi and be careful." Ling Quan said, glancing at the eighth stone slab with his eyes, which seemed to contain some hint.

Jiang Baizhi understood what he meant and nodded at him subtly to show that she understood what he meant.

So, everyone followed their previous team order and began to step onto the stone slabs in an orderly manner, ready to cross the turbulent stream. Everyone's face was filled with tension and anticipation, and they moved their feet carefully, fearing that they would fall into the water if they were not careful.

"Everyone must be extremely careful! Take one step at a time and proceed steadily. Although the waterfall is quite far away from us, the impact force it generates when it falls is still quite large and should never be underestimated! Everyone must walk this distance slowly and steadily." Relying on the memories of her previous life, Qu Qingdai's face was full of concern, and she solemnly instructed the guests behind her.

"Okay, Qingdai, you should be careful too." Chaoyan responded to her with a smile, her voice full of warmth.

"I understand." Qu Qingdai replied concisely. Although her voice was short, it revealed a firmness.
