Campus Chronicle 8 Bar Come Over
The last two classes of the afternoon were reserved for rehearsals of the play. Several students from each class participated. They then went to the rehearsal room together. Before the performance, a preliminary appearance selection process was conducted.
The rehearsal room had been decorated. Bright lights shone above the stage, while other areas below were illuminated with pale yellow light. The room looked warm and inviting. Several teachers in charge of conducting the performance were already seated in a row, chatting briefly.
When Ye Ruoliu walked in, quite a few people were already gathered inside, mostly handsome men and beautiful women recommended by the class. Su Wan? Ye Ruoliu spotted Su Wan immediately. She was standing with a few girls she usually played with.
Su Wan turned around as if she sensed Ye Ruoliu's gaze and looked at Ye Ruoliu.
The two stared at each other for a while, and when Su Wan's friends saw her looking over, they also glanced sideways. The two groups of people were facing each other, and the atmosphere was a little strange.
After saying that, Su Wan gently pushed away the girl who was blocking her and walked straight to Ye Ruoliu. Her arrogant and domineering posture matched her Gothic style outfit today very well, just like a willful princess from the Middle Ages.
"Ye Ruoliu, you're here really early." Su Wan smiled, her bright red lips curved into an arrogant arc. Her words didn't sound like a greeting, but rather a provocation. Ye Ruoliu simply nodded, saying "hmm" in response, but didn't say anything else.
But it was obvious that Su Wan didn't want to let her go. Several girls who came with Su Wan also came over, with the corners of their mouths raised with undisguised sarcasm. Their voices were neither loud nor soft, but just enough to fall into Ye Ruoliu's ears: "Is this your love rival?"
I don't know which girl said this. The sarcasm in Su Wan's eyes became even stronger: "She deserves it?" Ye Ruoliu's face darkened, and Liang Yuwei also frowned. Liang Yuwei was about to say something to refute, but was held down by Ye Ruoliu.
When communicating with someone like Su Wan, you absolutely cannot go against her, you must go along with her. If you say one thing to her, she will say ten things to you, and the fight will continue until you are dead.
When the situation was tense, the teacher who was in charge of the selection clapped his hands, attracting everyone's attention.
The students, who were originally chatting and playing, all lined up and stood in line after hearing the teacher's instructions. "Okay, thank you for following the rules. Everyone, please be quiet for a moment. I need to say a few words to everyone."
My name is Wang Wu, and I'm the teacher responsible for choreographing the play "Snow White." If you have any questions, feel free to come to me. We need to select thirteen students for the play, mainly the seven dwarfs, Snow White, a queen, a magic mirror, a hunter, a king, and a prince.
"If you have any roles you want to play, please tell me."
"Teacher, I want to play the prince!" Li Chuanze appeared at some point, raised his hand and said loudly.
Li Chuanze rarely wore school uniform today. The school uniform of their school was similar to the Japanese school uniform. Different from his original wild and flamboyant dress, Li Chuanze now looked like a youthful teenager.
His words instantly attracted the attention of everyone present.
Teacher Wang Wu, who was in charge of the selection, thought everyone would be reserved and shy, making it difficult to handle. Unexpectedly, someone was enthusiastic, so she quickly said, "Okay, classmate, you come up first. We'll see if anyone wants to compete with you for this role, and then you two can compete."
After Li Chuanze took the stage, Wang Wu asked around in the crowd, but no male actors came forward. Firstly, Li Chuanze was incredibly handsome, and secondly, everyone was just there for fun, not for the play itself. So, the choice of Prince fell squarely on Li Chuanze's shoulders.
With Li Chuanze taking the initiative, Wang Wu's subsequent work became much easier. He first selected several shorter boys and girls, asked for their opinions, and asked them to play the role of the seven dwarfs.
Later, Ye Ruoliu, Liang Yuwei, Su Wan, and the two girls with Su Wan whose names Ye Ruoliu couldn't remember were listed as candidates for Snow White, the Queen, and the Magic Mirror.
Afterwards, a stronger boy played the role of the hunter, and another boy, Ye Ruoliu knew was Gu Hanye from the next class, who was going to play the role of the king.
Teacher Wang Wu gave the girls some rest time. They had to audition for each role carefully, competing in rounds to see which role was suitable for each person.
During the short break, Liang Yuwei pulled Ye Ruoliu to a corner and lowered her voice, her face filled with confusion and indignation. "A Liu, what's going on with Su Wan? Is she treating you as an imaginary enemy now?"
Ye Ruoliu looked at Su Wan, who was surrounded by several girls not far away, and said softly, "That should be the case."
Liang Yuwei also looked at Su Wan, quite indignant: "It's really funny. You can't pursue someone, but you blame the world."
"Let's just ignore her." Ye Ruoliu said.
As she was speaking, Su Wan came over. She stood in front of Ye Ruoliu, her chin slightly raised, with an arrogant and fierce attitude. Ye Ruoliu looked at Su Wan with a cold expression.
Su Wan ordered in an unquestionable tone: "You are not allowed to compete with me for the role of Snow White. Do you hear me?"
This sudden and unreasonable request left Ye Ruoliu and Liang Yuwei stunned for a moment.
Liang Yuwei frowned and said, "The roles are chosen by the teacher based on suitability, not just anyone who wants to grab them.
Su Wan scoffed, her bright red lips curved into a sarcastic arc: "Suitability? Do you think you two country bumpkins are suitable?"
"Anyway, Snow White must be mine." Su Wan was used to being flattered, and when she saw Liang Yuwei's rebuttal, she instantly became furious.
Then, she turned her gaze to Ye Ruoliu's face and said, "You are just an outsider living in Chuanze's house. Sooner or later, you will get out."
At this time, teacher Wang Wu's voice came again: "Okay, students who are running for Snow White, Queen, and Magic Mirror, please come to the front. We are ready for the audition." Su Wan glared at Liang Yuwei fiercely and walked forward.
Su Wan's attitude aroused Liang Yuwei's rebellious psychology: "It's so funny, I'll just fight with her for it!" She pulled Ye Ruoliu and strode forward.
The audition begins with the roles of the Queen and the Magic Mirror, who present two performances.
Ye Ruoliu was unfamiliar with acting and could only follow her own feelings. However, everyone else was unfamiliar with the role, so their performances were similar. Only Su Wan was perfunctory, clearly not taking the two characters seriously.
When it was Snow White's turn, Su Wan took the stage first. She performed the scene where the princess fell to the ground after eating the apple given by the queen.
Everyone's acting was similar, and her acting skills weren't that great either. It was just that her makeup today didn't look like a princess, but rather like someone who poisoned the princess. When she fell to the ground, her acting skills didn't seem very good, so she was rejected by a large margin.
Ye Ruoliu and Liang Yuwei played Snow White without makeup, which worked to their advantage. After the performance, there were a few scattered but genuine applause.
Teacher Wang Wu looked at Ye Ruoliu and Liang Yuwei with admiration in her eyes and nodded.
In the end, Teacher Wang was hesitant between Liang Yuwei and Ye Ruoliu, not knowing who to choose.
It was Liang Yuwei who took the initiative to say that she didn't want to play Snow White, and in the end the role of Snow White fell to Ye Ruoliu.
Su Wan on the side gritted her teeth and stared at Ye Ruoliu, her nails digging into her palms.
Several teachers discussed the matter and finally announced the result: "The prince will be played by Li Chuanze, Snow White will be played by Ye Ruoliu, and the magic mirror will be played by Liang Yuwei. The king will be played by Gu Hanye, and the hunter will be played by Wang Zhuang.
After our discussion, Su Wan, you have a very strong ability to express yourself. The character of the queen is particularly suitable for you and is very challenging. I think you can give it a try.
When Su Wan heard the result, her body stiffened. Her expression, already ugly, became even more frightening now, as if the role of queen was an insult to her. She glanced at everyone present with resentment, turned abruptly, and left without looking back.
"Student Su Wan!" Teacher Wang called her from behind, but she had already run away. The atmosphere at the scene suddenly became awkward.
"Um, does anyone know Su Wan? I think she's perfect for the role of the Queen. Could you please help me get her the role?" Teacher Wang Wu asked earnestly on the stage. Ye Ruoliu and Liang Yuwei exchanged a glance.
Su Wan's friends raised their hands. They thought the matter was over, but they told the teacher, "Li Chuanze and Su Wan got along better."
Teacher Wang Wu didn't understand the situation, so she directly asked Li Chuanze to do ideological work on Su Wan.
Li Chuanze had already broken up with Su Wan and was always worried.
It doesn't matter who Snow White is, just not her.
He was quite happy that Su Wan was not selected. Now asking him to call Su Wan is like shooting himself in the head, isn't it?
"Teacher, Su Wan and I are not familiar with each other." Li Chuanze said.
Teacher Wang Wu had given up, but those girls kept chiming in, saying that Li Chuanze and Su Wan had an unusual relationship. Teacher Wang misunderstood and thought they were a couple who had had a quarrel. She advised Li Chuanze to call her and told him to ask Su Wan to come to rehearsal tomorrow.
Li Chuanze was originally very energetic, but now he looks as wilted as a frost-bitten eggplant.
After school, Ye Ruoliu and Li Chuanze took the driver's car home. Li Chuanze leaned against the window and sighed from time to time.
After a long time, he finally called Su Wan with his hand on his cheek, still using the hands-free mode.
"Hey, Su Wan, Teacher Wang Wu wants you to play the queen, please consider it." Li Chuanze's voice was cold and without any warmth.
"I don't want to act." Su Wan's voice came into his ears with a hint of embarrassment.
"I understand. I'm hanging up." Li Chuanze didn't continue to persuade her. He simply said this and hung up the phone.
But Su Wan on the other end of the phone was unhappy: "Wait a minute! Li Chuanze, is this your attitude when asking for help?"
"So are you going to act or not?" Li Chuanze asked.
"You can let me play the queen. Come meet me at the bar near the school at 8 o'clock in the evening."
