Fatty was screaming, and Xiaomeng was groaning in pain.
The whole world seemed to have turned upside down.
Wen Yan felt herself and the car rapidly descending.
All the images flooded into her mind like reflections outside the car window.
She is Wen Yan, a newcomer who has just entered the entertainment industry.
After nearly a year of playing minor roles, she finally became famous with a mindless and entertaining web series.
The company not only assigned her a private agent, but also gave her a personal assistant.
The small team gets along very well, and she receives many similar scripts.
But she was too eager to improve. She didn't want to keep acting in these illogical and poorly made web dramas. She wanted to join a more reputable team and try different roles.
Finally, she got an audition opportunity; a big-budget film crew was temporarily casting for the third female lead.
Because of the urgency, she and her team had to rush to the film set overnight for an audition.
The filming location was in the mountains; the crew drove there in the morning and had to return in the afternoon.
Her agent, Fatty, drove her there. On the way back, Fatty had been drinking with the casting director, and her assistant, Xiaomeng, wasn't feeling well, so she drove.
She even got into an argument with the fat guy on the way.
Fatty said that the casting director revealed to him while they were drinking that although the previous third female lead had fallen from grace, the role had actually been decided in advance, and this last-minute audition was just a formality, saying that she shouldn't have come at all.
But she felt that since she was already there, there was no point in saying these things now, since the production company hadn't explicitly said that the roles had already been decided.
The fat guy had drunk too much and was a bit long-winded. He said a few more words to her, telling her not to try to get rich quick and that she should stay comfortably in her comfort zone.
It's called a comfort zone, but this kind of role is a youth-oriented job. If you don't establish yourself in this industry when you're young and beautiful, you'll have even less of a chance later.
She and the fat man argued for a few moments, and in the end, neither of them spoke to the other.
She was focused on driving, while the fat guy was intently dozing off.
Suddenly, the car jolted violently, and a loud bang came from outside.
Immediately afterwards, the car lost control and became unbalanced, and no matter how Wen Yan tried to maneuver it, it was to no avail.
The ground collapsed, and they were in a car accident.
Finally, the car fell upside down into a dark place, with only two faint headlights remaining.
Wen Yan was locked upside down in the driver's seat. The first thing she felt when she opened her eyes was the blood sticking to her eyelids.
Then came the blurry, chubby guy's face.
Her ears were filled with a buzzing sound. She could see Fatty's mouth moving, but she couldn't hear anything.
-
"Fatty, Fatty! Xiaomeng!"
Wen Yan suddenly opened her eyes, and what she saw was a blindingly white ceiling.
She thought she had been taken to the hospital, but when she turned her head, she saw Shen Jingcheng's face.
"you,"
"You're finally awake, Wen Yan." Shen Jingcheng frowned, his face full of worry. "You've been unconscious for almost two hours."
"Unconscious?" Wen Yan struggled to sit up. "Where am I? Why am I here? What just happened?"
"Don't you remember? When the car was almost at number 46, you suddenly braked and told me you weren't feeling well and asked me to drive the car over there. Then you fell asleep."
"Really?" Wen Yan looked completely bewildered. "I don't remember anything. I only remember calling your name and the brakes failing, but you—"
What's wrong with me?
Wen Yan stopped abruptly. She looked at Shen Jingcheng and suddenly felt very tired.
Shen Jingcheng continued to ask her, "Who are Fatty and Xiao Meng?"
Wen Yan sighed deeply: "Did I call out these two names when I was unconscious?"
"Yes, it's been called many times. It's been called continuously."
"Hmm. Is this Pit 46? Are we already inside?"
"Still on the outskirts."
"Take me to the center, let's go now."
"But is your physical condition suitable right now?"
Wen Yan smiled and said, "We can't go any further. Isn't that why we stayed up all night to come here?"
As Wen Yan spoke, she got up and got out of bed.
The neurotic car nodded and handed her a pair of special glasses.
"We can't overexpose the light in the pit, so we're using special lighting. You'll be able to see more clearly if you wear these glasses."
"good."
Wen Yan then followed Shen Jingcheng.
When she reached the entrance to the inner pit, she suddenly stopped.
"Professor Shen."
Shen Jingcheng turned around: "What's wrong? Are you nervous?"
Wen Yan hummed in agreement: "A little, but what I want to tell you is that I've remembered. The closer we get to the pit, the more I can remember."
As Wen Yan spoke, she suddenly choked up: "It wasn't a beautiful memory. Rather than nervousness, it was fear. I suddenly felt a little scared. Those dreams felt real, no longer just dreams, but reality."
