Chapter 84 Family

Xia Wan stepped in front of Cui Ziqi and said to Liang Qi, "Officer Liang, let's take a look at the child's injuries first."

Following Xia Wan's words, Liang Qi looked to the side and saw Su Meng holding the unconscious Su You, her eyes red with anxiety.

He didn't say anything.

Cui Ziqi, however, called Zuo Cheng and asked him to bring the medical team over.

Zuo Cheng arrived with Tang Xiao and the others.

Upon seeing the child lying on the ground, Tang Xiao instinctively walked towards that spot.

"Where are you going? The patient is here."

Cui Ziqi's dissatisfied voice came from behind.

Tang Xiao turned his head and saw Cui Ziqi holding Xia Wan's wrist, her cold eyes glaring at him, indicating that he had found the wrong patient.

"Cui Ziqi, you kicked this child unconscious. Why didn't you let the doctor see him first?"

"I called the doctor not for him."

Cui Ziqi's voice was cold and his demeanor was aloof, making people feel that he was a heartless monster.

The man's palm covering her wrist was burning hot. Xia Wan was worried that if something really happened to the child, Cui Ziqi would be implicated.

She placed her other hand on the back of the man's hand and said gently, "Let's take a look at Su Meng's brother first. My injury is nothing serious."

Cui Ziqi looked down at her, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.

I'm worried about you.

Xia Wan coaxed softly.

Cui Ziqi's expression relaxed, and she raised her eyes to signal another assistant behind Tang Xiao to look at Su You.

Tang Xiao then took the medical kit and went to Xia Wan's side to treat her wounds.

Did you bring the rabies vaccine?

"I brought Qi Ge with me."

"Give her the call."

Tang Xiao looked at the obvious teeth marks on Xia Wan's wrist, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

"This... wasn't a dog bite, was it?"

"Stop talking nonsense, just hit me."

Hearing Cui Ziqi's voice gradually losing patience, Tang Xiao dared not delay and quickly took out the needle.

"What do you mean?" Su Meng, who was standing to the side, couldn't stand it anymore and stood up angrily, looking at Cui Ziqi and the other person.

“It’s wrong for my brother to bite someone, but for an adult to hit a child so hard and then call my brother a dog is not only excessive but also tasteless!”

Cui Ziqi seemed oblivious to Su Meng's curses, only frowning and staring intently at the needle inserted into Xia Wan's arm.

Zuo Cheng, however, looked coldly at Su Meng.

“Miss Su, you are worried about your brother, and Young Master Cui is also worried about his family. Is there anything wrong with that?”

family?

Cui Ziqi's tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly, and the bloodshot mist in his eyes dissipated.

The word "family" was so new to him that for a moment the urge to kill the three people behind him, which had been screaming and clamoring in his heart, was calmed down.

Surprisingly, he doesn't mind associating the word "family" with Xia Wan at all.

Seeing Xia Wan's pained expression, the corners of his lips curved slightly.

Looking at Zuo Cheng, Su Meng couldn't help but think of the inhumane threats this man had made against her during their time at Phantom.

She clenched her teeth, her round eyes filled with a hint of ruthlessness.

"I'm telling you, if anything happens to my brother, I will never let you off the hook!"

Xia Wan pressed a cotton swab against the needle mark on her arm and looked up at Su Meng.

After all, he was someone who had saved my life.

She didn't want to make enemies.

"I apologize for that kick on behalf of Cui Ziqi. Let's wait for your brother's test results. If something really happens, we will take full responsibility."

Su Meng saw Xia Wan step in front of Cui Ziqi, displaying the imposing manner of protecting the person behind her.

She snorted coldly and ignored Xia Wan.

Su You's test results came back quickly.

The assistant hesitated, glancing at Su Meng before looking at Cui Ziqi.

"Is it serious?" Xia Wan asked.

Upon seeing this, Su Meng's eyes turned red. She turned around and snatched the pistol from Liang Qi's hand with lightning speed, pointing it at Cui Ziqi.

"You must pay for my brother's life!"

Liang Qi's hand suddenly felt empty, and he exclaimed in shock, "Su Meng, don't be impulsive!"

At the same time, the wider the curve of Cui Ziqi's lips became, the less there was any smile in her eyes.

He reached out and put his arm around Xia Wan's waist, pulling her behind him, and looked coldly at Su Meng.

"Do you have the guts to shoot?"

Su Meng's hand holding the gun was very steady, and her gaze at Cui Ziqi was firm and sharp, as if she was about to fire the gun at any moment.

The assistant next to him suddenly spoke.

"I haven't finished speaking yet, why are you pulling out a gun?"

Su Meng looked at her assistant.

The assistant took a bottle of medicine from the medicine box and placed it under Su You's nose. In just two seconds, Su You slowly woke up.

Seeing this, Su Meng threw down her gun and went to help Su You up, "Xiao You, are you alright?"

When Su You saw Su Meng, she rushed into her arms and sobbed, telling her about her suffering during this time.

"He's fine, he was just frightened. I was just embarrassed for you guys."

After the assistant finished speaking very politely, he picked up the medicine box and walked behind Tang Xiao.

Seeing that the person was not injured, Xia Wan's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled down.

Liang Qi caught the gun and carefully put it away before looking at Cui Ziqi.

"Don't think you can get away with it just because he's alright. You intentionally hurt him and bullied the weak. Shouldn't you get at least some basic compensation?"

Xia Wan could tell that Liang Qi had a problem with Cui Ziqi. Although he seemed to be speaking up for Su You and her brother, he was actually deliberately focusing on Cui Ziqi's mistakes.

Cui Ziqi scoffed dismissively, but before he could speak, the woman beside him spoke up.

"Does that mean minors are not held responsible for intentional acts of harm? Officer Liang, you should be fair in your dealings."

Liang Qi frowned: "I saw you holding onto Su You from afar. He bit you to protect himself."

"He deliberately kicked the ball at me this morning, and then called me a murderer this afternoon. Just because he's a child, does that mean I should give in to him?"
