Chapter 32 Although...but...

Lu Xinghe was testing new weapons and equipment on the bridge when he received Luo Ning's message.

After the gate at the bridge was lowered, the mutants that had been crouching at the gate rushed over like a tide. The weapons on the bridge sensed this and immediately activated their strangulation mode. In an instant, flesh and blood flew everywhere, and limbs fell to the ground like falling rocks. In just one minute, none of the mutants survived.

“They’re all dead so quickly, and we haven’t even used the bullets yet,” Du Lu said, standing on the bridge tower.

Lu Xinghe was not as optimistic as Du Lu: "These alien species are not numerous. If they encounter a beast tide, we may not be able to stop them."

Du Lu nodded: "I hope there will never be a beast tide here."

The gates continued to open, and a new batch of hungry aliens rushed onto the bridge.

At this moment, Lu Xinghe's communicator lit up. He was taken aback when he saw that it was from Luo Ning. She never contacted him first, and this was during the day. Could something have happened?

"What's wrong?" Du Lu asked.

Lu Xinghe turned off the communicator: "It's nothing, continue testing."

He didn't go immediately; it was currently in the testing phase, and the gate was open, so he couldn't leave.

But when no one was looking, he glanced at the surveillance footage and saw Luo Ning sitting at the table with her hands supporting her cheeks, lost in thought. Her face had a faint blush, her lips were moist and red, and her eyes were somewhat unfocused, as if she was thinking about something.

Did she accidentally press the button, or did she want to see him?

She probably wanted to see him; it's not like you can just press the button so easily.

The test didn't end until noon. Lu Xinghe was going to go straight there, but he smelled his body and it seemed to smell of blood. So he went into the bathroom to wash up, changed into clean clothes, shaved his beard, and tidied his hair in front of the mirror.

As he walked out, He Cheng saw him and asked, "What's wrong? Did your family arrange another meeting with a woman?"

"No, what's wrong?" Lu Xinghe asked, somewhat surprised.

"Oh, you look so handsome, I thought you were going to meet someone." He Cheng said with a smile.

Lu Xinghe paused for a moment, then suddenly realized that he had indeed been deliberately dressing up in front of Luo Ning. So he messed up his hair and unbuttoned two buttons on his uniform, looking rather casual.

When Luo Ning saw him arrive, her face turned even redder. The woody scent emanating from him clearly enveloped her body. She could feel the beating of his heart and the sound of his blood flowing through his veins, like some kind of alluring invitation.

It looks delicious.

Seeing her blush upon seeing him, Lu Xinghe couldn't help but recall the events under the flowering trees. She had blushed just like that when he pinned her to the tree trunk, and she had been clinging to his shoulder, gasping for air as if she were suffocating…

She was indeed different from other mutants. If it were another mutant, he would be the one panting heavily, and he wouldn't have made it back to the base alive.

But something's wrong with her now; her eyes aren't as clear as they used to be, and he can see that even through her irises.

He still remembered the drug Dai Wanglin had told him about; it was a drug that stimulated the desires of mutants, and its effects lasted for a month, which was now almost a month in.

Luo Ning tugged at his sleeve, trying to get him into the room. The stiff fabric rubbed against her fingers, giving her a strange, ticklish sensation that made her want to throw herself into his arms.

However, Lu Xinghe did not move. If the drug really took effect, it could easily lead to uncontrollable things without the inhibitor. If she bit him in her excitement, the entire base could be plunged into a serious infection.

Moreover, even though he and she had been so indulgent in the past, he didn't want anything to happen in this way.

He had a feeling that when she regained her senses, she would regret what had happened.

"Luo Ning, go wash your face with cold water," he said to her earnestly.

But the delicate woman in front of him did not listen to him. She still held onto his clothes, her hazy eyes lingering on his face.

Then she forcefully pulled him inside and didn't forget to close the door. She was very strong, and even though he was no longer the boy he used to be, she still managed to push him into a chair.

She straddled his lap, her slender white legs swaying gently, her bare toes supporting her weight on the ground. Her arms were around his neck, and her moist lips parted to utter muffled sounds: "Lu Xinghe, I think I'm sick."

Perhaps because the sound barrier caused the drug's effects to wear off quickly, he was able to hear clearly what she was saying, and her voice was quite pleasant.

His hand slowly moved towards his waist, where the gun was; if she lost control, he wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Fortunately, she didn't make any further moves. Her reason was still intact, but her body gradually became uncontrollable, so she hugged him even tighter.

He tried to push her away, but his hand accidentally touched her tail. Her body tensed up immediately, and she fell heavily onto his lap.

When he realized what she had just done, he thought it was all over, but then she started touching him inappropriately again.

"Luo Ning, wake up." He tried to wake her, but the woman's lips were already pressed against his collarbone, gently sucking, soft and sweet.

No one could resist such a temptation, but Lu Xinghe's gaze grew increasingly serious; the drug's effects were indeed very potent.

This time, he stood up directly, while the dazed woman clung to him like a koala. He carried her into the bathroom, turned on the cold water tap, and put her down. The cold winter water finally brought Luo Ning back to her senses. The cold made her instinctively want to escape, but Lu Xinghe pressed her back down.

“Although we’ve done it before, I was younger then, and things are different now,” Lu Xinghe said calmly.

Luo Ning was a little confused. What had he done? What did he mean by "he's still young"? What did she mean by "now is not like before"?

Lu Xinghe turned the tap on full blast, and Luo Ning was almost frozen stiff. However, she quickly remembered what she had just done, so that's probably why Lu Xinghe poured cold water on her.

It turns out that the feeling of hunger and emptiness wasn't because I was hungry and wanted to eat, but because I had a desire for something different.

Oh no, the desires of the mutants in the novel are terrifying; they can overcome their appetite. They don't like other species and only love humans. The humans following behind the mutants who were killed in the town back then were just like that.

Fortunately, Lu Xinghe put her under cold water. Who knows what would have happened if it were someone else? But now she was too embarrassed to face him. Although he had tried to take advantage of her before, he had never lost his sense of propriety like she had.

A strong sense of morality welled up in her heart, and she gradually calmed down. Lu Xinghe handed her the clean clothes and then left.

Looking at the clothes in her hand, Luo Ning felt moved. As a security officer, he must know what it means for the alien's desires to arise. At this moment, the wisest thing to do would be to kill her instead of holding her down in cold water.

She also saw that his holster was open, but in the end he didn't.

So even if he didn't regain all his memories, he is still the same boy who has been through thick and thin with him.

She gently bit her lip, a quiet warmth rising in her heart.
