Fu Rongchen strolled up the steps, his gaze sweeping over the bundle on her back. His handsome face darkened considerably. "That's the question I should be asking you. Where are you going so early, carrying that bundle?"
Shangguan Yanran immediately felt an immense pressure bearing down on her.
This version of Fu Rongchen is quite frightening.
She felt a chill run down her spine and took two steps back.
But feeling that she couldn't lose face, she straightened her chest and said, trying to appear calm, "I... I'm hungry, so I came out to find food, is that not allowed?"
Fu Rongchen glanced at her and sneered, "Do you need to carry a bag when you come out to find food?"
When her lie was exposed, Shangguan Yanran's face flushed red and then turned pale. But she felt that she hadn't done anything wrong, so why should she feel guilty? She simply said loudly, "I want to go back to the capital."
