Chapter Fifty-One: Chaos and Turmoil

Hearing his confused tone, Mo Lan raised an eyebrow slightly and couldn't help but say something as she passed by.

"It's right to help those in need when you see injustice; it shows you have a kind heart. But sometimes doing good deeds doesn't guarantee a good reward, so you have to be prepared for that."

"Are we just going to stand by and watch someone die? Otherwise, where is justice?" The boy instinctively looked up when he heard Mo Lan's tone.

Looking at the dejected young man, Mo Lan shrugged innocently, "Saving people is not wrong... The mistake is that you are not strong enough to withstand the backlash after saving people."

juvenile:"······"

"Zhou Bo, this young lady is right. Today's events were caused by your recklessness. Sigh... Since things have come to this, go inside and pack your things."

As he spoke, the man patted the boy's shoulder with a worried expression.

"Father, I'm sorry." The boy looked ashamed.

"Forget it, we run a security escort agency. We can establish ourselves anywhere. Go ahead." With that, the man shook his head and turned to leave.

The boy lowered his head, his fists clenched so tightly they turned white, glanced at Mo Lan, and then turned and left.

After the crowd dispersed, the area inside the open gate was a mess.

Mo Lan lost interest in watching the commotion and had only taken two steps forward when she heard a loud bang behind her.

The boy was kicked out, and seeing how he couldn't catch his breath for a long time, it was clear that the kick had been quite forceful.

"It's all your fault. Our security escort agency was doing just fine, but now because of you, our whole family is forced to wander and suffer."

"Cough cough... Big brother, I..."

"Don't call me 'big brother.' I don't have a younger brother like you. Look at the world these days, where is there any need for you to play the hero? Are you satisfied now?"

As they were talking, a man in his twenties came out holding a curved knife, glaring angrily at the boy lying on the ground.

Mo Lan looked at them, thinking about Chen Kun's background, and didn't know what to say.

The emperor is far away, and the princess is acting like she owns the county. Otherwise, she wouldn't let her relatives act as accomplices to evil.

She wants to find business opportunities here, but that doesn't seem very reliable.

"Everyone can manage things in this world, but how to manage them is indeed a skill."

Mo Lan had seen many ups and downs in life. She wasn't particularly moved by this, and simply turned to leave again.

As she passed the blacksmith's shop, Mo Lan stopped and took out a drawing she had made herself from her pocket. It still depicted a silver wolf mask, but this time it was a modified version of her own face.

Take it with you, and you won't miss out on eating and drinking.

"Make me a mask based on this design, and the workmanship must be exquisite." Mo Lan walked to the shop and handed over the blueprints.

The blacksmith took the blueprints, glanced at them, and nodded. "I guarantee I'll make it for you at the same price as last time."

Leaving the blacksmith shop, Hua Bao asked curiously, "Young Miss, didn't you already have a mask? Why did you need another one made?"

"That size is a bit unusual."

As they spoke, the two returned to the inn. The moment she turned to leave the mountain tower, she noticed a probing gaze.

Mo Lan ignored this; they were just guests staying at the hotel, and the rest was none of her business.

After having tea served by the waiter, Mo Lan sat by the back window to drink it and enjoy the view of the backyard.

With just one glance, Mo Lan noticed that the atmosphere in the backyard was unusual, completely different from the situation in the morning.
