Chapter Seventy-Seven: Being Followed

The basement was about the same height as the regular house. Mo Lan looked around and found it to be about ten square meters.

There were several cabinets at the far end, several boxes piled up next to them, and only a simple small octagonal table and a chair in the middle, with the same small black box on the table.

Another black box?

Mo Lan shone the flashlight on it, and finding nothing amiss, she reached out and turned it on.

A milky white halo emanated from it, and Mo Lan couldn't help but stare in amazement at the egg-sized luminous pearl.

"Chen Han really knows how to make money; he even uses such rare beads for lighting."

With the luminous pearl providing illumination, Mo Lan put away her flashlight and began to search through the treasures inside.

Opening the cabinets inside, Mo Lan was stunned. The cabinets were filled with jade discs—large and small, round and square, crescent-shaped, all sorts of shapes and sizes.

Even the colors are different: mutton fat white jade, yellow jade, bluish-white jade, jasper, black jade, and green jade.

The cabinet has five shelves, and it is full of jade discs.

It seems that Chen Han not only collects books, but also has a fondness for collecting jade discs!

It is said that gold is valued in times of chaos, while antiques are treasured in times of prosperity!

Jade items have never seemed cheap and have always been popular with the public.

After sighing, Mo Lan opened two other cabinets. One was filled with various jade pendants, rings, and hairpins, while the other displayed various jade carvings.

Jade is a natural mineral, and there wasn't much of it to begin with. I never expected that Chen Han would be able to collect so much.

Judging from the quality and clarity of these jade discs, they are all of medium to high grade; otherwise, they wouldn't have been hidden here.

As for the remaining boxes, Mo Lan's eyes lit up when she opened them; they were all filled with whole gold and silver bricks.

"Tomb spirit, collect."

"Okay,"

When she left, Mo Lan also put the luminous pearl into her bosom and gave it to Hua Fengyu later so that it wouldn't hurt his eyes when he read at night.

Returning to the study, watching the mist gradually dissipate, Mo Lan immediately slipped away. Having accepted the other person's belongings, lingering any longer would only make her seem smug.

After leaving the Chen residence, Mo Lan made sure no one was around before turning around and heading straight for where Hua Bao was hiding.

After crossing two streets, Mo Lan sensed something was wrong. Hearing the faint presence behind her, her heart sank. Who had caught up with her without her noticing?

How did she not even notice when she caught up with him?

It seems this person's abilities surpass hers.

While devising a plan, Mo Lan did not stop and continued to fly forward. Then she suddenly increased her speed and, as she passed through an alley, she turned sharply and hid in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity.

In the blink of an eye, a figure appeared at the intersection, standing there with his hands behind his back, showing no intention of leaving.

In the pitch-black night sky, a few sparse stars hung. As far as the eye could see, Mo Lan could only see a sky-blue robe and a white jade hairpin on her head; everything else blended into the darkness.

In her memory, there seemed to be no such person.

Just as Mo Lan was pondering, the person suddenly turned around. When she saw the blue-faced fox mask, Mo Lan stepped out without hesitation.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you following me?"

Qin Su narrowed his eyes as he watched the girl emerge from the shadows.

Why do you say I'm following you?

"Needless to say, ever since I discovered it, it's been two blocks away."
