Chapter 9 Several Dishes

In truth, Nam Chi was already laughing her head off inside.

For some reason, this name seems to suit him quite well. Hu Lai, huh?

Hu Lai drove Nan Zhi directly to the Sands Club.

I had already witnessed the high-end nature of Sands from the entrance here before.

As we followed Hu Lai inside, the place was luxurious yet not gaudy; rather, it had a touch of elegance.

“Miss Nan, this place really does hold memories!” Hu Lai glanced at Nan Zhi with a half-smile.

Nan Zhi's face flushed slightly under his gaze, clearly thinking of how unreservedly she had acted as someone's girlfriend last time.

However, Nam Gyi was used to doing things her own way, so she was only embarrassed for a moment before she was back to her senses without blushing or panting.

He smiled at Hu Lai and said, "Mr. Hu, you remember me so well. I'm so happy."

Hu Lai: "..." Who the hell was thinking about you? Didn't you realize I was insulting you? This woman has a really thick skin.

Before they knew it, the two had arrived at the private room.

Hu Lai pushed the door open and went in, grinning excitedly: "Old Shen, look who I brought?"

He stepped aside, and Nanzhi came into Shen Xingmian's sight.

There was another young man inside, as well as a female waitress standing at the door.

Shen Xingmian glanced at Nan Zhi expressionlessly, but a hint of tenderness flickered in her eyes. She nodded to her and said, "Long time no see, Miss Nan..."

Nan Zhi was taken aback, then smiled and replied, "Long time no see, Mr. Chen."

Hu Lai looked at Shen Xingmian. Sure enough, she was his girlfriend; he was being treated differently. He was even taking the initiative to greet the girl.

So, with his keen eye, he pulled out the chair next to Shen Xingmian for Nan Zhi and beckoned to her, "Miss Nan, please sit here."

Nanzhi sat down and said, "Thank you, Mr. Hu."

Hu Lai smiled and said, "It's nothing, it's nothing." Then she ran over and sat down next to another man, nudging him with her elbow.

"Dude, did you see that? I wasn't lying to you, Lao Shen has a girlfriend."

The man moved aside in disgust.

Only then did he give Nanzhi a proper look, before continuing to drink his tea. Hu Lai snorted, "Old Lian, you're so boring. No wonder you're still single."

Lian Jin gave him a strange look. "You seem to be the one who's never been in a relationship. At least I've been in one before."

Hu Lai: "..." Would you die if you didn't bring this up? Wait, back then you were in elementary school, right? Wasn't that considered a girlfriend?

Nanzhi sat there, feeling somewhat awkward. Just when she thought she was going to continue feeling awkward, a hand touched her hand.

The warmth when touched made Nanzhi's heart skip a beat.

Turning her head, she saw the man with a calm expression, pushing a glass of water in front of her: "Miss Nan, please have some water."

Nanzhi: "..."

"Miss, where did your audacity from the other day go? Of course, you should pounce on her without hesitation now."

The meowing machine called out in her mind, and Nan Zhi smiled sweetly:

"Thank you, Mr. Shen."

Upon hearing this, Shen Xingmian remained silent, turned around, and calmly took a sip of tea.

He silently rubbed his fingertips together, still feeling their warmth, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his lips.

Shen Xingmian beckoned to the waiter standing by and said in a low voice, "Add a few more dishes: Kung Pao Chicken, Spicy Crayfish, Hot and Sour Shredded Potatoes, and Banana Pastry."

Hu Lai looked puzzled: "Old Shen, didn't you hate all this greasy stuff? What's gotten into you today?"

Lian Jin glanced at Hu Lai, thinking that this guy's head must be filled with nothing but water and flour.

Shen Xingmian gave him a slightly aloof look and raised an eyebrow: "You have a problem with that?"

Hu Lai was puzzled by his gaze, but still shook her head: "How could that be? Anyway, you're paying, so eat as much as you want."
