Chapter 24 Xiao An's Birthday

"After the seal is broken, the evil energy will invade the sea of consciousness and easily affect a person's mind. The sword wielder needs to have strong willpower and a firm Dao heart. Otherwise, he will be assimilated by the evil energy and go astray."

Qin An listened to the sword spirit's words and seemed to be deep in thought.

"However, you don't need to go through all that trouble."

"Why?"

"Because you have a trace of demonic bloodline, people with demonic bloodline can easily control the Bloodthirsty Sword and will not be swayed by the evil energy. Unsealing it will at most make you more prone to losing control of your emotions."

When the sword spirit mentioned the demon bloodline, Qin An's face darkened.

"I'll say it again, I have no demon blood. Don't say it again."

"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore." The sword spirit had no choice but to agree, muttering under its breath, "That's true, and you won't even let a spirit say it."

Meanwhile, on the other side, Shu Lan was contemplating a major matter.

That is, Qin An's birthday is coming soon.

Qin An's birthday is on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. This is something Shu Lan once saw on his indenture.

The disciple trial competition started on the first day of May and lasted for three days. Entering the Sword Tomb took another day. Thinking about it, Qin An's birthday is tomorrow. There's only one day left to prepare.

Speaking of birthdays, Shulan recalled her time in modern society, when her family would always prepare a cake and a large feast to celebrate her birthday. Although only her parents and younger brother were with her, Shulan always had a fulfilling birthday.

As she thought about it, Shu Lan's lips curled up slightly.

Speaking of cakes, Shu Lan suddenly realized that she had never made a cake for Qin An before. So this time, she would make a cake to celebrate Qin An's birthday.

True to her word, Shu Lan rolled up her sleeves and began preparing the materials.

After a while, all the materials were ready. But Shu Lan was at a loss.

At that time, cream didn't exist, so Shu Lan had to find a way to make it herself. Fortunately, she was very good at using magic, and eventually she was able to make cream herself.

Just as Shulan piped the last buttercream flower, the cake was finally finished. By then, the sun was already setting.

Shu Lan used magic to preserve the cake, and then hid it in a safe corner of the kitchen.

Shu Lan watched the setting sun, pondering, and decided that one cake wasn't enough. She'd simply take Qin An down the mountain to play tomorrow; that was the decision.

The peaceful night passed just like that.

The next morning, Shu Lan and Qin An got up together as usual and started washing up.

After washing up, Shu Lan watched Qin An practice his swordplay.

After Qin An finished practicing his swordplay, Shu Lan didn't go back to practice as usual. Instead, she called Qin An over and gently rubbed his head with her hand.

"How about we go down the mountain and have some fun today?"

Qin An's eyes lit up instantly. "Is it just me and my master brother?" Qin An asked expectantly.

"Yes, just the two of us."

"Great!" Qin An's heart leaped with joy, and he quickly grabbed Shu Lan's hand. "Then, Master Brother, let's set off now!"

"Okay, sure." Shu Lan couldn't help but chuckle at Qin An's eagerness.

Shu Lan brought Qin An to the foot of the Star River Sect's mountain. Within the Star River Sect's jurisdiction, there was a large city.

This city is Yuelong City. And this is Shulan's destination.

Shu Lan led Qin An all the way to Yuelong City. As soon as they arrived at the city gate, they saw a towering city wall with a huge plaque on it. The plaque had three large characters drawn in bold strokes: "Yuelong City".

Shu Lan, holding Qin An's hand, stepped through the city gate. The city was incredibly prosperous, with a constant stream of tourists and vendors thronging the streets. Laughter, shouts, and the sounds of vendors selling their wares rose and fell, filling the air with a vibrant, bustling atmosphere.

Qin An had never seen such a prosperous city before. The original Jing'an City was just a small town, which was also lively, but compared with this scene, it was nothing.

Qin An looked around excitedly. Shu Lan, on the other hand, let Qin An hold her hand and quietly followed beside him.

Seeing Qin An's curious eyes and his wandering gaze, Shu Lan's expression softened considerably, and she smiled slightly as she shared in Qin An's joy.

At noon, Shu Lan took Qin An to the largest restaurant in the city. Shu Lan ordered many of Qin An's favorite dishes.

When the food arrived, Qin An was pleasantly surprised. He quickly realized that his master had specially ordered it for him, as all the dishes suited his taste perfectly.

Qin An tasted the food and felt it wasn't as good as what his master brother made. However, his master brother usually taught him not to waste food, so Qin An still ate all the food.

Shu Lan ate some food on the side and then looked out the window.

The streets were bustling with traffic and people, a truly lively scene.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out in one part of the street.

Shu Lan looked closely and saw a little boy sitting in the middle of the road, while a carriage was speeding towards him not far away.

As the little boy was about to be hit by the carriage, people around gasped in alarm, and some even closed their eyes involuntarily.

Just then, a figure in white descended from the sky and swiftly carried the little boy away.

After the man in white stepped aside, the carriage sped on for a distance before stopping.

Upon witnessing this scene, people exclaimed in surprise, "It's the immortal! It's the immortal who saved the child!"

The person who saved the boy was none other than Shu Lan.
