"Doctor, something bad has happened! A large number of infected people have appeared in the west of the city. It looks like they're going to..." Liu Xiaodi, who rushed in, stopped mid-sentence when he saw the tense atmosphere in the laboratory and Ning Yu's pale face.
"Damn it!" Dr. Zhao cursed under his breath, wringing his hands anxiously. "Of all times, it had to come at this crucial moment..." He looked at Ning Yu and said worriedly, "Your current condition..."
"I feel like I'm about to lose control again..." Ning Yu gritted his teeth, trying to control the surging energy within him. Blue arcs of electricity crackled again from under his skin, illuminating his sweat-drenched face.
Dr. Zhao wanted to say something more, but Ning Yu interrupted him, "Stop talking, even if I die here today, I can't let them break through the base!" After saying that, he struggled to stand up, but Dr. Zhao pressed him down.
"Are you crazy! Going out now will only lead to your death!" Dr. Zhao shouted sternly.
Ning Yu slumped helplessly into his chair, despair washing over him like a tidal wave. Was he really destined to sit and wait for death? Was he destined to become a monster unable to control his own power?
Just then, a steady voice came from the doorway, "Let me give it a try."
Everyone looked up at the sound and saw Brother Wu standing at the door. He stood upright with a firm look in his eyes, like a beacon in the darkness, bringing a glimmer of hope to the desperate crowd.
"Brother Wu? What brings you here?" Little Brother Liu asked in surprise.
Brother Wu ignored him and walked straight up to Ning Yu, scrutinizing him closely. He saw the struggle and despair in Ning Yu's eyes, the blue arcs of electricity flashing on his body, and the violent energy that almost tore him apart.
“You don’t need to be afraid,” Brother Wu’s voice carried a strange, comforting power. “I understand how you feel.”
Ning Yu looked up at him, puzzled. Brother Wu's eyes were deep and calm, as if he could see right through him.
“Relax, don’t resist it,” Brother Wu’s voice was soft, yet it seemed to possess a certain magic, making Ning Yu involuntarily want to believe him. “Try to feel it, guide it…”
"What nonsense are you talking about!" Dr. Zhao could no longer contain himself and shouted, "His condition is extremely dangerous right now. Your meddling will only harm him!"
Ignoring Dr. Zhao's attempts to stop him, Brother Wu walked behind Ning Yu and gently placed his hands on his shoulders. A warm energy flowed through his hands into Ning Yu's body, calming his previously manic powers somewhat.
“Trust me,” Brother Wu’s voice was firm and strong, “I can help you…” Dr. Zhao wanted to say something more, but was stopped by Little Brother Liu, who shook his head at him. Although Little Brother Liu was also worried about Ning Yu’s safety, he vaguely felt that Brother Wu was not a reckless person, and perhaps he really did have a way.
"Don't resist it, feel it, just like you feel a part of your body..." Brother Wu's voice seemed to carry a certain rhythm, echoing in Ning Yu's ears.
Ning Yu was skeptical, but he was already at his limit. Rather than struggling in despair, he decided to take a gamble. He closed his eyes, trying to empty his mind, to stop thinking about the terrible consequences, and to stop suppressing the restless energy within him. He tried to feel that energy, to feel it flowing through his body, to feel its temperature, its shape…
At first, the energy was still violent, like a wild horse trying to break free of his restraints. But as Ning Yu tried again and again, he gradually sensed a difference. The energy seemed to no longer repel him as much; instead, it was like a mischievous child, darting around inside his body, trying to get his attention.
“Yes, that’s it, don’t be afraid…” Brother Wu’s voice remained calm, yet carried a powerful force, guiding Ning Yu, “Follow your instincts…”
Ning Yu concentrated, trying to sense the changes in that energy. He discovered that when he stopped resisting it and instead tried to understand and accept it, the energy seemed to become gentler. He could even vaguely sense a strange connection between himself and that energy…
“Concentrate your will, guide it…” Brother Wu’s voice suddenly turned serious, “Imagine what you want it to do…”
Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat. He opened his eyes and looked at Brother Wu, his gaze filled with shock and confusion. Brother Wu smiled slightly at him, his eyes full of encouragement and affirmation.
Ning Yu took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and did as Brother Wu instructed. He tried to integrate his will into that energy, guiding it, controlling it…
Suddenly, Ning Yu felt as if an invisible hand had soothed the violent energy, making it more docile and no longer as rampant as before. He was overjoyed and focused even more intently on guiding the supernatural power within his body according to Brother Wu's method.
He carefully controlled his thoughts, as if stroking a frightened wild horse, trying to tame it with patience and gentleness. Gradually, he felt a subtle connection forming between himself and that energy, no longer a pure confrontation, but rather a kind of guidance, a fusion.
"Yes, that's it! You did a great job!" Brother Wu encouraged him in a low voice, his voice carrying a hint of barely perceptible excitement.
With Ning Yu's guidance, the energy gradually stabilized, like a flame slowly burning, no longer darting around but obediently dancing under his control. He was pleasantly surprised to find that as long as he concentrated his mind, didn't reject it, but tried to understand it, he could slowly control it.
"I...I think I can feel it!" Ning Yu said excitedly, but he still dared not relax, for fear that he would lose all his efforts if he was not careful.
