Chapter 69 The Solution at Linjiang Tower
Watching Zhu Er and Hou San's departing figures, Fan Xiaoxiao frowned slightly.
"We need to hurry."
Aunt Wang didn't hear what she said clearly and asked, "What?"
Ji Yushu waved his paper fan and watched the direction the two people had left.
"We need to hurry. Manager Ji, take the things to the dock."
Aunt Wang was a little confused by the two people's conversation. She was about to ask a question when she saw Fan Xiaoxiao leading Uncle Wang toward the dock, calling out to her and Madam Fan as they walked: "Auntie, you and Sister, see if there's anything else you need to buy. Uncle and I will be right back!"
"Eh..."
Aunt Wang raised her hand, as if she was about to say something.
However, Fan Xiaoxiao and Uncle Wang had already followed the Ji family for quite a distance, so she could only sigh and give up.
"These two are really something, I haven't even finished saying what I was saying yet."
"Alright, Auntie, let's go inside. I think what my sister and uncle were talking about today was quite a mixed bag."
After saying that, the two of them took Xiaobao and began to seriously search for the things that Fan Xiaoxiao had told them to buy.
About half an hour later, the street became somewhat noisy for some reason. Fan, who was picking out scraps of cloth, was slightly startled and quickly leaned out of the window to look in the direction of the noise.
There seemed to be quite a few people gathered there, as well as some vendors carrying goods out to sell.
"Auntie! Auntie! Come and see!"
"What's wrong?"
Following Fan's example, Granny Wang went to the window and peeked out. Her expression immediately changed.
"It's Hou San and Zhu Er! What are they doing here again?!"
"They're coming this way!"
Aunt Wang squinted her eyes, picked up the slightly dozing Xiao Bao, and said, "Let's go downstairs and take a look."
After going downstairs, the noise subsided considerably. The two quickly squeezed to the outer edge of the crowd, standing on tiptoe to peer inside.
"Since you're not going to set up a stall, then let the Hou and Zhu families do it today! Since you're not going to make this money, then don't even think about setting up a stall at the market in the future! This is your only chance! Think it over! Don't be so shameless."
It was Zhu Er's voice.
Madam Fan and Granny Wang exchanged a glance. It seemed that Zhu Er and Hou San were resorting to tricks now that everyone was slow to open their stalls.
"Yesterday you wouldn't let us set up a stall, and now you're forcing us to! You get to decide everything! What if we don't set up a stall today!"
It was unclear who shouted this from the crowd, but it sounded like a young person.
Hou San narrowed his eyes like a venomous snake. He scanned the crowd and laughed coldly, "Heh, it seems there really are some who aren't afraid of death! If you have the guts to speak, then step forward! A day's rent is nothing to us, but you know better than we do what a day's money means to you."
His words were absolute, but the crowd remained silent for a long time. Zhu Er snorted, grabbed a young man from the crowd, and slapped him across the face with both of his thick hands, instantly swelling the young man's face. A mouthful of blood mixed with teeth was spat onto the ground.
The person who was hit whimpered, covered his face, and felt like his head was spinning.
"No...it wasn't me!"
Zhu Er didn't let him continue speaking and stepped forward to kick him twice more.
"What do you mean it's not you! I can clearly see it's you!"
The person who was hit let out cries of pain and could only curl up his body to minimize the injury to his painful areas.
"Enough!"
A loud shout came from the crowd, and a young man dressed in a linen shirt stepped out.
"I said it!"
"Oh, it's you."
Zhu Er walked over, and then suddenly punched the young man, sending him flying.
"You little brat! Grandpa told you to set up a stall, so set up the stall! Why are you talking so much nonsense! Let me tell you! You can forget about setting up a stall again!"
After saying that, he spat at the young man who was lying on the ground and unable to get up.
"They really don't know who they belong to if we don't teach them a lesson. You just wait and see! This is what happens when you oppose us!"
After saying that, Zhu Er stomped hard on the young man's head, grinding his toes into it. A painful roar came from the young man's mouth, and both Fan Shi and Wang Da Niang turned their heads away, unable to bear looking at the man any longer.
Seeing the fear on everyone's faces, Hou San felt relieved. He winked at Zhu Er and said, "That's enough. Brother-in-law doesn't know what happened yesterday."
"laugh."
Zhu Er snorted disdainfully, but didn't let the young man off the hook. Hou San glared at him, knowing he was going against him, and then stopped looking at him.
He stepped forward and shouted at the crowd, "Folks, what are you all wasting time here for? Do you really want to follow this ungrateful person and stop setting up stalls altogether? Have you thought this through? If you don't set up stalls, what will your children and wives eat?"
The onlookers were somewhat swayed by what they were being told, and some hesitated about whether to leave. Hou San smirked, deciding to add fuel to the fire.
"Don't forget, if you want to make money in the future, you'll have to listen to us..."
Just then, a whooshing sound suddenly rang out from the second-floor window of Linjiang Tower, interrupting Hou San's words and instantly drawing everyone's attention.
There, a thick hemp rope had been stretched taut at some point. One end was connected to a second-floor window, while the other end... surprisingly, led to the dock not far away.
With a few strange bell sounds, basket after basket slid down the rope toward the dock.
Hou San and Zhu Er's expressions changed immediately. They exchanged a glance, then hurriedly pushed through the crowd and ran towards the dock.
Aunt Wang pulled Fan Shi, who was staring at the rope with her mouth agape, and said, "Come on! Little Bao's mother, let's go take a look!"
The group followed Zhu Er and Hou San to the dock, where they saw the Ji family members busily unloading baskets of goods from the ropes. A manager-like figure disembarked from the merchant ship and stood by the side of the vessel, counting the cargo.
Zhu Er rushed forward to overturn the goods, but was stopped by the servants of the Ji family. He frowned and questioned Ji Yushu with displeasure, "Ji San, what do you mean by this?"
"What do you mean? I'm just doing business normally. What, Zhu Er, are you trying to interfere in Linjiang Tower now?"
"you!"
Hou San stopped Zhu Er, who was about to rush forward impulsively. He narrowed his small eyes and laughed twice in a sinister tone: "Heh, Ji family's third son, you've got some skills. You managed to do business without letting people disembark. Aren't you afraid we'll deal with you?"
"Smack!"
Ji Yushu unfolded his paper fan with the sound of the voice, and shook it lightly with a carefree smile on his face: "Afraid? I'm not afraid at all. Anyway, I'll be able to sell the secret recipe for Xuewan soon. Once I've made a fortune, what's the Linjianglou restaurant business?"
"Snow Pill? Secret Recipe?"
"Second Master! Second Master!"
Just as Zhu Er was about to speak, loud shouts interrupted him.
"Damn it! Call back the soul!"
A servant in gray clothes squeezed up to Zhu Er, swallowed hard, and whispered a few words in Zhu Er's ear in a hurry.
Almost instantly, Zhu Er's face turned extremely ugly. After listening to what the servant had to say, he let out a loud shout.
"What the hell did you say? My brother knows about yesterday's events?!"
"Yes, Second Master! The Master is furious at home! He's telling you... get out... get back home!"
