Chapter 70 Chaos

Chapter 70 Chaos

"Bang!"

Zhu Er suddenly threw a punch at Hou San, shouting, "Hou San! It's you!?"

Hou San was stunned by the beating. He clutched his stomach, staggered back several steps, and suddenly knelt down, vomiting violently. Zhu Er was so angry that he wanted to hit him again, but Ji Yushu gave a signal to the servant beside him. The servant immediately obeyed and withdrew from the crowd, running hurriedly in another direction.

When Hou San brought his servants, disguised as merchants, they couldn't stand seeing their young master get beaten up. So they immediately grabbed their weapons and started throwing them at Zhu Er.

Zhu Er's accomplices, who had been inexplicably attacked, were not to be trifled with. They immediately picked up whatever they could use as weapons to fight back, and a melee ensued.

As the battle intensified, the onlookers retreated to the sidelines to avoid being caught in the crossfire. Fan Xiaoxiao was quickly pulled aside by Madam Fan and Granny Wang to prevent her from being accidentally injured by the unsuspecting onlookers.

As for Steward Ji, he found a platform and stood on it, shouting to the crowd to try and break up the fight: "Hey! What's going on here? Zhu Er, calm down! We're all family, why fight like this! Hey! What are you doing!"

In the chaos, Hou San, having finally vomited everything out, struggled to his feet, leaning against a nearby flagpole. He stared at the all-too-familiar scene, his mind racing with shock and rage. He hadn't mentioned their actions the previous day to Huang Yuan when he returned! Who was it?!

Hou San scanned the familiar faces around him, his mind racing. Seeing his silence, Zhu Er assumed he was guilty, and his anger flared even more fiercely. He roared at Hou San, "You son of a bitch! You told me not to tell him! You betrayed me in the blink of an eye! You damn Hou!"

He lunged forward to continue beating Hou San, but the servant who had come to report saw this and quickly pulled Zhu Er aside, whispering, "Second Master! Now is not the time for fighting! You should think about how to get past the head of the family!"

Zhu Er had completely lost his mind. He shoved the servant aside and yelled at him, "Stop talking nonsense! Damn it! I've had enough of Hou San! If he hadn't betrayed me, would I have needed to explain to my brother?! It was like this last time! And it's like this again! Does he really think I'm a lump of dough that he can knead at will?!"

Hou San, already enraged from the beating, was now even more furious. This was the second time this pig had beaten him! And in front of so many people! He sneered twice, no longer caring about whose conspiracy this was. He grabbed a wooden stick and smashed it down on Zhu Er's head. Zhu Er dodged in time, avoiding a fatal blow, but was still hit on the shoulder, letting out a muffled groan.

"Zhu Er! You son of a bitch, you're asking for it!"

"Ha, Hou San! We'll see who's courting death!"

Fan Xiaoxiao stared in astonishment at the chaotic battle unfolding before her.

"Tsk tsk, that's ruthless."

Hearing this, Ji Yushu, who had also retreated from the side at some point, laughed out loud while waving her paper fan: "That's ruthless. There's more to come."

Aunt Wang asked Ji Yushu, puzzled, "A little while? What else is there in a little while?"

Ji Yushu opened his mouth, about to speak. Just then, a figure came running from afar. He immediately grinned.

"Hey! Here comes the fun!"

Everyone looked over there in confusion. Fan Xiaoxiao shrugged and explained to the others in a low voice, "He sent someone to complain to the Huang family. Judging from the looks of it, the Huang family must have arrived."

Not long after Fan Xiaoxiao finished speaking, sure enough, the sedan chair she had seen yesterday appeared at the street corner.

Some people in the crowd seemed to have noticed the direction and hurriedly shouted, "Stop fighting! Stop fighting! The Huang family is here!"

But the person's voice was too soft, and the scene was already in complete chaos. So no one heard the person's shout, and the scene remained chaotic.

Huang Yuan stepped out of the sedan chair through the chaotic crowd. His face was ashen as he looked at the scene before him. He waved his hand and ordered someone to bring out a bronze gong.

"Clang clang clang"

The gong rang out shrilly, finally drawing the attention of the fighting group. They immediately stopped what they were doing and spontaneously split into two sides. Zhu Er and Hou San in the middle remained locked in their attacking stance, while Huang Yuan snorted coldly, his face dark and menacing.

"You've really grown some guts. Now you're not only fighting by yourself, but you're also starting to gang up on others. You really don't take my advice to heart!"

Zhu Er and Hou San awkwardly put down their sticks and walked up to Huang Yuan.

"elder brother."

"Mayor."

Huang Yuan coldly stared at the two men in front of him, their faces bruised and swollen.

"Don't call me. I thought that after yesterday's lesson, you two had reconciled and could manage the market properly. I never expected that not only would you not allow the vendors to set up stalls, but now you're talking to me about managing the market while secretly calling people to fight?! Do you remember what I said? Whoever starts a fight will be fined three taels of silver!"

Upon hearing about the impending fine, both sides tensed up. A flash of resentment crossed Hou San's eyes as he glanced at Zhu Er and said, "Mayor, Zhu Er started this; if anyone should be punished, it should be him!"

"You son of a bitch, Hou San! You clearly asked for this!"

"you……"

Seeing that the two were about to start fighting again, Huang Yuan felt the veins on his forehead bulging, and he roared angrily.

"Enough!"

Realizing Huang Yuan was truly enraged, the two froze, not daring to utter a sound. Huang Yuan rubbed his forehead, feeling as if his head had suddenly swelled up.

"You two, stop embarrassing yourselves in public and get back here right now!"

After saying that, Huang Yuan immediately put on a smiling face, just like a mask change. He smiled at the crowd watching the show and said, "Folks, you've had your fill of excitement today. Now hurry back and set up your stalls! Time waits for no one, after all, the merchant ships will be docked for three days! My rent is a small matter, but you can't afford to have no income!"

This disgusted everyone. Aunt Wang rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, "That fat man talks a good game, but doesn't he mean that we're all getting in the way of his money-making?"

Fan Xiaoxiao smiled and lowered her voice, saying, "Auntie, do you think everyone will listen and go back to their stalls?"

"I guess..."

"Won't."

A woman's voice drifted from behind Fan Xiaoxiao, causing her to pause slightly. Turning around, she saw a woman with her eyes blindfolded in black standing behind them, a slight smile playing on her lips. The woman had deep-set features and a beautiful, delicate face, with an exotic air. She wore a red dress, both flamboyant and languid, her slightly curled hair tied up with an exquisite silver hair clip. However, for some reason, her complexion appeared somewhat pale. Beside her stood Xiao Miao, the one who had saved Xiao Bao. The two stood one behind the other, looking somewhat like mistress and servant.

"Um, who...who is this?" Fan Xiaoxiao asked Xiao Miao.

Ji Yushu heard the noise behind him and turned around. What he saw immediately made him extremely excited.

"Madam Ye! What brings you here!"

Fan Xiaoxiao raised an eyebrow: "You two know each other?"

“I know her! This lady is the daughter of my master’s friend, and Xiao Miao is her bodyguard. They are staying at my master’s place.”

After saying this, Ji Yushu still had a slightly shy look on his face. Seeing his appearance, everyone understood perfectly well that this young master of the Ji family had taken a liking to someone else's wife! No wonder he always went to his master's place.

Perhaps feeling a little embarrassed by the stares of the crowd, Ji Yushu cleared her throat and softened her voice as she asked:

"Ahem, Madam Ye, why do you think people won't go back to setting up their stalls?"

Madam Ye rubbed herself down and sat down, leaning lazily against the pillar and laughing, "Didn't they find a more profitable way to make money with you, Ji Sanlang?"
