Chapter 95 Leaving Huilong Village

Chapter 95 Leaving Huilong Village

Fan Xiaoxiao and Ye Niangzi were not far from where they had been standing. When Master Lu led Xiaoyu over to them, one of them was sitting and the other was standing.

He tightened his grip on the basket on his back, took Xiaoyu's hand in one hand, and said to the two of them, "Let's go, I'll take you away from here."

Fan Xiaoxiao, who was hanging her head and looking a little dejected, heard the voice above her and struggled to lift her head, only to find that it was already broad daylight.

She leaned against a nearby tree to stand up, her legs feeling weak. She took just one step when she felt her legs give way. Her body went limp, and she collapsed to the ground.

Xiaoyu, who was closest to her, was clearly startled and immediately stepped forward to nudge her: "Hey!! What's wrong with you!"

Fan Xiaoxiao opened her mouth, feeling as if her whole body was about to fall apart in pain. Master Lu also squatted down in front of her and reached out to touch her forehead.

"This girl has a fever!"

Fever? Fan Xiaoxiao's mind went blank for a moment. She belatedly touched her forehead and found it alarmingly hot. She swallowed hard, trying her best to sit up.

She couldn't collapse here; if she fainted, she might be abandoned. Although Madam Ye had saved her several times last night, they were still people she could trust. She dared not collapse here; if she did, she might never see her older sister and Xiao Bao again.

As she was thinking this, Fan Xiaoxiao gritted her teeth and tried to stand up. But her body felt as if it weighed a ton, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't lift herself up.

"You! How can you move like this!" Xiaoyu looked at Fan Xiaoxiao anxiously, then looked to Master Lu for help.

"Grandpa, please save her. She saved me yesterday."

Master Lu sighed and was about to unload the basket from his back when Lady Ye, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly moved. She walked over and scooped the girl up from the ground with a strength that seemed unusual for a woman.

"Let's go, don't waste time." Ye Niangzi's voice was a little cold, and only then did Master Lu realize what was happening. He took Xiaoyu's hand again and led the way, each step making a soft sound.

Fan Xiaoxiao was still a little dazed. She managed to look up at Ye Niangzi's somewhat cold expression. Was she helping her again?

"Thank...thank you." Fan Xiaoxiao opened her mouth with difficulty, her lips moving up and down, barely managing to utter this breathy sound.

But Lady Ye heard it clearly, and she sneered, "Heh, don't be so sure. I can abandon you at any time."

"You...you wouldn't..."

Lady Ye was taken aback, her brow furrowing. She was just about to let go and scare the girl when she heard the rather weak girl speak again: "I...I still owe you wine..."

Wine? It seems there is such a thing. Remembering the girl's cooking skills, Madam Ye, who was about to let go, tightened her grip and ultimately did not throw the girl on the ground.

Feeling the movement of the other person's hand, Fan Xiaoxiao's heart, which had almost jumped out of her chest, finally settled down. Thankfully, at the last second, she remembered the three jars of wine that this guy had mentioned last night. Now she didn't have to worry about being abandoned; she just hoped that this guy could hold her or carry her on his back.

In this position, she felt that her body, which was already on the verge of falling apart, was now even more unable to hold on.

...It hurts so damn much...

The intense pain gradually blurred Fan Xiaoxiao's consciousness. When she regained consciousness, she was already sitting on a small boat. The river carried the boat, rocking it back and forth, making Fan Xiaoxiao feel somewhat dizzy.

"Water..." She managed to open her mouth, but the sound that came out was as if something was stuck in her throat.

Fortunately, Xiaoyu, who had been watching over her, heard her commotion and quickly took out a bamboo tube from her basket, opened it, and carefully brought it to Fan Xiaoxiao's lips: "Here, water."

Fan Xiaoxiao straightened up slightly and noticed that her shoulder was wrapped in bandages. The arrow that Master Lu had cut off also seemed to have been removed. She moved her hand slightly, and as expected, the wound there seemed to have been treated as well.

"It was a blind woman who helped you remove it. Your wound was a bit infected. If it hadn't been removed, your hand would have been chopped off." Xiaoyu explained when she saw Fan Xiaoxiao staring at her shoulder for a long time without moving.

"Medicine..." My shoulder felt slightly cool, as if medicine had been applied there.

"The blind woman gave me the medicine and told me to apply it for you." Xiaoyu understood almost instantly what Fan Xiaoxiao wanted to know and gave her the answer without any further questions.

It was Lady Ye again. Fan Xiaoxiao frowned. She struggled to drink a few sips of water from the bamboo tube held by Xiaoyu. She sighed inwardly; she was afraid she'd never be able to repay Lady Ye's debt this time.

After drinking water, Fan Xiaoxiao felt a little better. However, perhaps due to excessive blood loss, she felt dizzy. Coupled with the fact that she was lying down and listening to the sound of the river water lapping against the wooden boat, she felt as if water had filled her brain.

"Xiaoyu... could you please help me sit up?"

A strong feeling of dizziness made Fan Xiaoxiao feel like she was about to vomit. She covered her mouth and, with Xiaoyu's help, sat up straight. She then realized that she had been lying down against a few baskets, while Master Lu was rowing at the stern, and Madam Ye was sitting at the bow, perhaps resting.

"Ma girl, are you feeling better?" Seeing Fan Xiaoxiao sit up, Master Lu asked with some concern. But his address of "Ma girl" startled Fan Xiaoxiao so much that she almost choked on her own saliva.

"Cough cough cough. Ma girl?"

“Yes, aren’t you called Ma Yatou?” Xiaoyu looked at Fan Xiaoxiao with some confusion. She had clearly heard in the crowd that this person had called herself Ma Yatou.

A mocking laugh came from the bow of the ship, and Fan Xiaoxiao felt her face burning. Just as she hesitated whether to tell Xiaoyu that the name was a fake, Master Lu's voice suddenly became serious.

"Someone's there!"

Fan Xiaoxiao was taken aback and followed Master Lu's gaze. In the distance, a small awning boat was bobbing up and down with the waves. On the bow, there seemed to be someone standing, frantically waving their arms in their direction.

"It's a child!" Master Lu narrowed his eyes and slowly rowed the boat in that direction. Fan Xiaoxiao stared at the small figure, feeling a sense of familiarity.

The distance gradually closed, and slowly, the figure on the other side became clearer. Fan Xiaoxiao finally understood why that small figure was so familiar. She sat up straight in disbelief, her eyes wide with disbelief at what she was seeing.

"Xiao Bao?"

The child's voice came through clearly; Fan Xiaoxiao heard him crying and shouting.

"Auntie!!!!"
