Chapter 94 Past Events Gone with the Wind

Chapter 94 Past Events Gone with the Wind

"We've arrived?" Fan Xiaoxiao was slightly taken aback. The cart blocked her view, making it difficult to see the situation clearly.

Xiaoyu lowered her head and climbed up, trying her best to push Tu Ban and the man with the mole off the cart. Fan Xiaoxiao looked at the child's struggling back, sighed, and climbed up to help her.

However, the moment she stepped onto the cart, she was stunned by what she saw.

Not far in front of them was a sunken, emerald-green pool. It wasn't very large, roughly the size of a fishpond in front of a house in the countryside, surrounded by solid rocks. And on those rocks, countless large leeches, some black and some yellow, were wriggling!

Fan Xiaoxiao immediately felt a sharp pain in her stomach, covered her mouth, and ran to the side to vomit. It was disgusting; this was absolutely the most disgusting scene she had ever seen in her life!

"Hmm..." Tu Ban woke up on the cart. He opened his eyes and looked at the slightly white sky. It took him a while to realize how he got here.

"You're awake." Xiaoyu's hoarse, shrill voice rang in his ears. Tu Ban was stunned and suddenly remembered that before he lost consciousness, it seemed that the blind woman had sprinkled some kind of powder on him! He struggled for a moment and then realized that he was actually tied tightly to the cart.

"You little mute!!! You son of a bitch! Let me go!!"

"Heh," Xiaoyu sneered, jumping off the cart. Master Lu turned the cart around and slowly pushed it towards the pool.

After seeing the situation clearly, Tu Ban's face turned green! A blood pool!! These two were going to throw him into a blood pool!!!

Tu Ban panicked completely. He struggled, but the ropes binding him were getting tighter and tighter for some reason.

"Master Lu...Master Lu!! Please spare me! Please spare me, and I'll grant you wealth and honor! You...you wanted to leave Huilong Village, didn't you! I'll let you leave!!! Please!!"

Grandpa Lu's face remained expressionless as he slowly pushed the cart toward the pool.

As they approached the pool, Tu Ban struggled even more fiercely, his pleas for mercy growing louder.

Xiaoyu stopped and looked at the distance between herself and the blood pool.

"Grandpa, that's about enough."

The cart stopped, Tu Ban's shouting paused, and then he saw Master Lu take the dagger from Xiao Yu's hand and walk over.

"What...what are you going to do!" Tu Ban's voice trembled as he spoke. The expression of Master Lu in front of him was as cold as the Grim Reaper, and he subconsciously turned to Ye Niangzi and Fan Xiaoxiao, who were outsiders, for help.

"Hey! You two...you two heroes! Please!! Save me!! I...I'll give you a hundred taels of gold! Oh! No! A thousand...a thousand taels!!!"

Lady Ye rubbed her throbbing temples and took a few steps back, ignoring what was happening. Finally, she stood next to Fan Xiaoxiao, who was retching under the tree. This damned Huilong Village chief, so arrogant before, turned out to be nothing but a useless coward.

Master Lu saw her actions and knew they wouldn't interfere in what followed. He glanced gratefully at Madam Ye. Then, he raised his dagger and, without any expression, made countless cuts of varying sizes on Tu Ban's body.

The pain made Tu Ban's face extremely pale, and his face was covered in a thick layer of cold sweat. His lips trembled, and his eyes glanced at Xiao Yu standing to the side.

"Little...Little Yu! I...I'm your Uncle Tu Ban! Please tell your grandfather to let me go! I...I even held you when you were little! Do you remember?"

Xiaoyu tilted her head, her dark eyes showing no emotion: "You and that old hag really are family, both such useless spineless cowards."

A fierce glint flashed in Tu Ban's eyes. This girl! How dare she speak to him like that! But before he could speak, Master Lu had already finished dealing with the man with the mole and walked over. Tu Ban concealed the fierce glint in his eyes, put on a pitiful look, and looked at Master Lu, saying, "Master Lu! Let me go! I'll make you the chieftain! Women! Money! I can give you anything you want!"

Master Lu stared at him coldly for a while, then suddenly sneered, "Heh, you're tough, unlike the one next to you, who's already dead. But being dead might not be such a bad thing, after all..."

As he spoke, Grandpa Lu stopped and prepared to push the cart.

"Grandpa! Wait a minute." Xiaoyu stopped Grandpa Lu, a gesture that gave Tu Ban a glimmer of hope. He looked at Xiaoyu with pleading eyes, his words becoming increasingly pitiful: "Xiaoyu! I know you couldn't bear to kill Uncle Tu Ban! You remember, right? It was me! It was me who spared your life!"

But to his surprise, Xiaoyu simply tore off a piece of fabric from her clothes, crumpled it into a ball, and shoved it into his mouth. Tu Ban was startled, but at that moment he could no longer speak.

The cart started moving again, and when it was almost at the edge of the pool, Master Lu stopped approaching. With a sudden push, the cart slid into the pool, splashing up a spray of foul-smelling water, and slowly drifted to the center of the pool, carrying the man and the corpse.

After entering the water, Tu Ban saw that the leeches that had been clinging to the stone wall seemed to have gone mad and fallen into the pool. He felt goosebumps all over his skin, and his fear grew stronger and stronger.

Then, he glanced over and noticed that blood was gushing from the neck of the man with the mole next to him. Not only that! Blood was also flowing from the man's wrists and ankles! The bright red blood flowed into the pool, and he could clearly hear something swarming towards him in the water.

Then, one, two, three. Countless leeches crawled out of the pool and onto the wooden plank! They crawled onto his body! His face! His clothes! His hair!

He finally understood the purpose of the cloth the little mute boy had given him! It was to prevent him from biting off his own tongue!

"Ugh!!!!!! Ugh!!!!"

Listening to the sounds of the person in the center of the pool, Xiaoyu's lips pursed tightly.

"Xiaoyu, just you watch. We've avenged your parents and your great-grandmother!"

Grandpa Lu's voice seemed to have aged considerably at this moment. He took off his basket, sat down against a rock, and when he rolled up his trouser legs, a large section of his right wooden prosthetic leg was revealed.

Xiaoyu's eyes were a little red. She wiped away her tears and nodded in a stiff voice.

"Yes! Grandpa! We've gotten our revenge."

Everything I witnessed when I was three years old seemed to replay before my eyes. Back then, it was all because of that bastard Tu Ban! He took a fancy to my mother! He drove my father to his death! That's why my mother jumped into the blood pool after him!

Now, she's finally got her revenge! That bastard! He's finally going to die!

The commotion in the middle of the blood pool lasted for about half an hour. The grandfather and grandson stood on the high point of the blood pool and watched for a full half hour.

The wind blew, causing the central wooden plank to spin. Most of the leeches, having eaten and drunk their fill, fell back into the pool. Old Lu stood up and dusted himself off.

"Let's go, those two have been waiting for a while, it's time for us to leave this godforsaken place."

Xiaoyu pursed her lips, shifting her gaze from the horrific scene on the wooden plank. She nodded, took a small handful of incense sticks from her basket, lit them, and placed them beside the pool of blood.

"Father, Mother, Grandmother. Xiaoyu is leaving. Please take care."

Having said that, she turned around and walked towards Master Lu. A breeze swept by, carrying wisps of smoke, as if bidding farewell.
