I sat down and started organizing the materials and getting to work.
Jin Ling scoffed from the side, "You're nothing special. What else can you do besides tattling?"
Lin Wanwan didn't even look up. "There are still many things you don't know. Haven't you already seen them?"
Jin Ling was furious. She had to admit that Lin Wanwan was indeed very capable.
Lin Wanwan speaks German, English, and French fluently, and her spoken English is excellent. She even knows many professional terms.
She got first place in the written exam, but her spoken English was a major weakness.
Fortunately, the second-place candidate in the written test also got in, so she was able to squeeze in.
But Lin Wanwan was different; she ranked third in the written test but first in the oral interview.
I heard that all the teachers who interviewed her praised her.
Jinling was unwilling to accept this. She worked very hard, so why was she always inferior to her? All she had was a good background, so what?
So after she started working, Jinling would compete with her in everything and treat her as an enemy in everything she did.
"What's so great about you? You're just better off being born into a better family than others."
"Even if you were given this chance to be born into a good family, you might not do any better than me. You're already a junior, your spoken English is mediocre, your German is mediocre, and your major is mediocre. Everything is just so-so. Is it because you don't have the resources to study? Or are you focusing your attention on other things? Don't treat me as an imaginary enemy. When I was studying, you were fast asleep. When I was reading books and looking for tutors, you were shopping with your roommates. Don't act like you're so hardworking and that your only disadvantage is your background."
Lin Wanwan glanced up at her and said, "Don't talk like I was born knowing all these things. I earned them all through my own hard work. I admit that my background gave me a lot of opportunities, but if I didn't work hard, which opportunity would I have had?"
Jin Ling wanted to say something more, but Lin Wanwan interrupted her directly, "Stop bothering me. I really like this job and don't want to waste my time on these pointless things. I also don't have that much time to save you, and..."
Lin Wanwan looked her up and down and said in a nonchalant tone, "Whether you like me or not is really not that important to me."
