Lin Wanwan got up early on Saturday morning to meet with Ren Zijie and a few others at the company.
Just as I finished eating and came out of the dining room, I saw Uncle Li leading Zhou Ming in from the outer courtyard.
Zhou Yang, looking dejected, followed behind.
"Zhou Ming? Why are you here so early in the morning?"
"Sister-in-law, up so early?"
"Yes, I had to go to a company meeting today, so I got up early. Have you eaten yet? Come in and eat. Lu Feng is still in the dining room."
Before Zhou Ming could answer, Lin Wanwan turned around and called out, "Auntie, prepare two sets of bowls and chopsticks, we have guests."
Seeing that it was him, Lu Feng didn't even get up and invited him in to eat.
"You two can continue chatting, I need to change my clothes and go."
Before Zhou Ming could say anything, Lu Feng nodded and said, "Drive slowly and be careful."
Lin Wanwan nodded and turned to go back to her own courtyard.
Seeing Lin Wanwan change her clothes and hurriedly leave, Zhou Ming looked at his friend who was eating and reading the newspaper at the same time.
Zhou Ming sighed helplessly, "Is my sister-in-law avoiding me?"
Lu Feng put down his newspaper and glanced at him. "Stop trying to make yourself look good. Why is my wife avoiding you? We made plans to go to the meeting today on Thursday."
"Is it about the cooperation with the Zhou family?"
Lu Feng looked at him suspiciously, "Your family has a collaboration with Wanwan's company?"
Are you genuinely unaware, or are you pretending not to know?
Lu Feng looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Why would I lie to you? I never interfere in company matters. My brother has always been in charge. Recently, my brother went abroad, so Wanwan has been managing things."
Zhou Ming sighed and glanced at his nephew beside him.
"You know about what happened between him and Xiaoming at school, right?"
"You know a little bit, and you still haven't resolved it? Are your brother and sister-in-law getting worse as they get older?"
Zhou Yang was unhappy and glanced at Lu Feng.
Then, he lowered his head in fright at his serious expression.
He's been getting yelled at at home every day for the past few days. His whole family is giving him the cold shoulder, and even his mother, who has always been biased towards him, has stopped speaking up for him.
Lu Feng glanced at Zhou Yang, who was clearly unconvinced, and said nothing more.
"Are you finished eating? If you are, let's go have some tea. I've called Xia Yang and Young Master Jiang over."
Zhou Yang nodded. "Is Xiaoming home?"
"He's in the yard, probably having a class. Wanwan hired a tutor for him and Qingran. Is something wrong?"
"You really accepted that little girl as your goddaughter?"
"Yes, my mom and Wanwan both like him very much."
Zhou Ming turned to warn his nephew.
"You should know what to do. The Zhou family has more than just you as a grandson. Even if you're gone, there are many others. If you want to be treated like trash and abandoned by the family right now, then keep being willful."
Zhou Yang nodded, turned around and went out the door.
Lu Feng glanced at him and said, "You don't need to say these lecturing things in front of me."
"Sigh, if it weren't for the fact that he's my own nephew, I wouldn't bother with him."
"How could my brother, such a wise man, raise such a son?"
"Let's go, don't worry about things that aren't your concern, let's go have some tea."
Zhou Yang followed the aunt to Lu Ming's courtyard. The door to the study was ajar, and the sound of a teacher giving a lesson could be heard inside—English…
Zhou Yang's least favorite subject. After a while, a girl's voice came from inside. He didn't know if her pronunciation was good or not, but he thought her voice was very nice.
Zhou Yang watched as Li Qingran and Lu Ming sat side by side. One was engrossed in reading a book and studying the teacher, occasionally asking questions, while the other was resting his chin on his hand, seemingly learning with ease.
Zhou Yang, who was about to knock on the door, thought about it and then stepped back, sitting on the wooden bench under the eaves to wait.
After waiting for almost half an hour, just when Zhou Yang felt his patience was about to run out, he saw the teacher come out.
Upon seeing this, Zhou Yang immediately pushed open the door and went inside.
The two people inside the room assumed it was the teacher and didn't even look up.
It wasn't until Zhou Yang sat down opposite them that Lu Ming looked up at him with a puzzled expression.
"What's up?"
Zhou Yang glanced at Li Qingran, then at Lu Ming, "Well, I'm here to apologize. What happened before was my fault."
Then, looking at Lu Ming, she whispered, "Well, your dad and my uncle are childhood friends, so I apologize for this. Let's just let it go. Your mom's company..."
Lu Ming interrupted him, "You don't need to tell me how my mom's company is doing. And if you sincerely want to apologize, apologize in front of the whole school. When your mom caused trouble at the school, she didn't try to downplay the incident because of your uncle."
Zhou Yang stood up abruptly. "Lu Ming, don't go too far. I'm only apologizing because of your family. You want me to apologize in front of the whole school? Don't even think about it."
Lu Ming slowly put down the pen in his hand, crossed his arms, and leaned back in his chair.
"Okay, then you can leave now. Don't bother with my parents. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Qingran is my mom's goddaughter now, and our whole family likes her very much."
Zhou Yang stared in shock at Li Qingran standing to the side.
"What exactly does your family mean by this? Is your mother just being nosy and meddling in this whole thing?"
"I advise you to watch your words and actions. If you say another word about my mother, I'll make sure you stay in the hospital for a few days. Do you believe me?"
Zhou Yang grabbed an ornament from the table and smashed it on the ground, yelling, "You fucking..."
Before he could finish speaking, Lu Ming punched him in the face.
"Watch your mouth!!"
Zhou Yang sat on the ground and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand.
He was a little dizzy; Lu Ming's punch was aimed at him with deadly force.
He shook his head, trying to stand up.
Just as I was about to stand up, I felt dizzy and fell back to the ground.
