Even though Ye Jingchen had an ugly face, Xie Chang'an recognized him at a glance.
"I'm so glad you could come and help me say goodbye to my mother!" Xie Chang'an came up to Ye Jingchen, took his hand, and led him to Xu Jingjing.
Ye Jingchen was completely bewildered.
He wanted to say that he wasn't there to see Xu Jingjing off, but since he was already here, he couldn't let the opportunity to improve his relationship with Xu Jingjing slip by!

Whether it was Xie Chang'an taking the initiative to hold his hand, or Xie Chang'an actually smiling, both things were terrifying.
"May your journey be smooth and may you be reunited with Uncle Xie soon!" Ye Jingchen said to Xu Jingjing.
"Let's work together with Father to give me more younger brothers and sisters!" Xie Chang'an replied.
"You brat, what nonsense are you spouting in front of the emperor? Are you asking for a beating?!" Xu Jingjing's hand had already reached for the spear on her back.
