Chapter 23 Marriage Partner
Meng Qiyue stopped eating, her eyes shining, waiting to see what would happen next.
Chu Xiang and Gu Jue have always been fairly in sync; at least they don't plan to interact in public, meaning they don't intend for others to know about their relationship. It's as if Gu Jue, that playboy, is afraid of being rumored to be involved in any scandals.
Chu Xiang waited for a long time but Gu Jue didn't speak. She asked, "Is something wrong?"
In fact, Gu Jue didn't know what he was doing here. He just came here because the atmosphere was right and he was being watched by others.
Gu Jue didn't know what to say, but finally he blurted out, "Come to the school gate after your military training today. I need to talk to you."
Chu Xiang: "What is it?"
He had no idea what was going on!
Gu Jue: "You'll know when you get here."
Without waiting for Chu Xiang's reply, Gu Jue turned and left. This handsome young man moved with a dashing air, truly exuding hormones at all times.
Meng Qiyue asked curiously, "Are you really going?"
Chu Xiang smiled, "Why not go?"

After a day of training, many people looked like wilted eggplants, but thankfully the military training was about to end, so there was something to look forward to.
Chu Xiang walked to the school gate and immediately saw Gu Jue.

Gu Jue had just turned down a girl who asked for his contact information when he saw Chu Xiang walking over. He asked, "Why are you so slow?"

Chu Xiang waited for a while but he didn't say anything. She asked, "Do you have something to say? If not, I'm leaving."
Seeing that she was really about to leave, before his mind could process what was happening, Gu Jue casually made up a story: "I called you out because I wanted to talk about paying back the money."
Chu Xiang held out her hand. "Money."
With his hands in his pockets, Gu Jue said nonchalantly, "Not yet."
He's so broke now that he can only afford to eat at the cafeteria. He has to split every dollar in half. He's never lived such a frustrating life before. But he's already made up his mind that he won't use the family's money.
He naturally doesn't have any extra money to repay Chu Xiang right now.
Chu Xiang said irritably, "If you don't have the money to pay me back, why did you call me here?"
Gu Jue: "I'm just letting you know in advance so you won't go around saying I owe you money and won't pay it back. You can rest assured, at most half a month later, I will pay you back ten times the amount."
"Sure, if you're so capable, then pay me back ten times the amount." As she spoke, Chu Xiang looked in another direction and smiled, "But I think you should be dealing with more important matters right now."

She raised her hand to wipe the moisture from the corner of her eye caused by yawning. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a car that looked somewhat familiar parked in front of her. When she rolled down the window and saw the person inside, her eyes lit up with surprise.
Gu Heng said, "Miss Chu, I'll see you off."
Chu Xiang didn't make a fuss. She got into the car and sat in the passenger seat. The air conditioning was on, and she instantly felt like she had gone from a furnace to heaven.
Gu Heng pulled out a tissue and handed it to her. She was wiping her eyes with the tissue when she suddenly heard him say, "I will teach Gu Jue a lesson."
"Huh?" Chu Xiang raised her face, her expression somewhat innocent and bewildered, and her slightly red eyes were particularly noticeable.
Through the car window, you can see the young couple arguing and pulling at each other. Because of their good looks, many passersby can't help but take a second look when they pass by.
Chu Xiang realized what was happening and said, "It's just a small matter. Mr. Gu is so busy, you don't need to trouble yourself. Besides, I didn't think much of it."
Gu Heng glanced at her reddened eyes, then lowered his gaze to fasten her seatbelt without saying a word.
If Assistant Yin were here, he would definitely exclaim, "Miss Chu is truly devoted to Young Master Gu. She was so upset to see him with another woman that she almost cried, but she still defended him so much."
If Gu Heng didn't want to, it would be very difficult for ordinary people to discern his emotions from his expressionless face.
The car couldn't stay on the side of the road for long, and Gu Heng didn't even think to go over and say goodbye to Gu Jue. He started the car and said he would take her home.
Chu Xiang asked, "Why is Mr. Gu at the school gate today?"
Gu Heng: "I'll pass by here on my way home from get off work."

Gu Heng: "What do you want to say?"
Chu Xiang then said directly, "I heard from Aunt Gu that you're a workaholic. I thought you'd get off work very late."
Gu Heng smiled slightly, "I get off work at five o'clock every day."
He leaves at exactly five o'clock, even if someone in the company says there's a meeting. He won't leave until five o'clock, not a minute less or a minute more.
Chu Xiang then asked, "So you go home after get off work?"
He nodded. "Unless there are other circumstances, I will go home to rest."
Chu Xiang knew that Gu Heng had moved out of the Gu family mansion a long time ago. Compared to Gu Jue, Gu Heng seemed particularly independent. She couldn't help but sigh, "Mr. Gu is mature and stable, has financial strength, and lives alone outside. He goes home as soon as he gets off work. He must be a very family-oriented person."
Gu Heng stepped on the brakes at the red light.
The moment the car stopped, Chu Xiang laughed, "Mr. Gu is such a perfect marriage prospect. I hope I can find a husband as good as you in the future."

A car behind started honking its horn.
Chu Xiang smiled and reminded the quiet person, "The light is green!"
As if waking from a dream, Gu Heng calmly withdrew his gaze from her, stepped on the gas, and crossed the intersection with the green light.
