Chapter 48 The First Step to Becoming the Pirate King: Becoming the Captain...
"Welcome to Michelle's Tailor Shop!" A smartly dressed woman emerged from behind a platform made of countless pieces of fabric, holding a measuring tape.
Sang Zhitao looked at her seemingly simple yet meticulously crafted clothes and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, praising, "As expected of Mrs. Michelle, your craftsmanship lives up to your reputation."
Michelle stepped forward, smiling and praising, "Oh~ where did this angel come from? Look at your perfect temperament, beautiful black hair, and fair skin. The clothes in my store are not good enough for you."
"You're too kind, Madam. I'm sure your cooking will surprise me," Sang Zhitao replied politely.
“Of course, I will do my best to give you the perfect experience.” Michelle picked up the measuring tape and measured her body a few times, then exclaimed in admiration, “Look at this perfect figure, I will definitely use the best fabric for you.”
"Madam, aren't you going to ask me who I am and what kind of clothes I want?" Sang Zhitao asked curiously.
“Eureka is quite famous in the town of Fort Fuchs.” Michel didn’t answer her directly, but instead talked about Eureka who was standing next to her.
Sang Zhitao glanced at Eureka beside her in surprise. Seeing him sitting there blankly, seemingly oblivious to their conversation, she smiled and replied, "Alright, but I want my clothes to be a bit unique, do you understand, Madam?"
Michelle glanced at Sang Zhitao, her eyes flashing as she instantly understood. She smiled and said, "Don't worry, Michelle the tailor is also the best at understanding girls' thoughts. Just be patient, it will be done soon."
“Alright, then I’ll leave it to you, Madam.” Sang Zhitao straightened her sleeves, which had loosened from taking measurements, before turning to Eureka. “Since we’ll be waiting a while anyway, why don’t you come for a walk with me?”
Eureka yawned and nodded indifferently, "Let's go." Then he turned and left.
Sang Zhitao shrugged indifferently, completely unconcerned by his coldness, and instead greeted Michelle before leaving.
Fuchsburg was more enjoyable to explore than expected. The medieval European-style town made Sang Zhitao, who had never been abroad before, quite happy.
Especially some local delicacies, such as the crispy fried apricot pie with a sweet and sour filling, the crystal fruit which is like the candied hawthorn of the East, and the fish-filled bread that made her frown.
The red wine stewed pears made her see double, and she almost fell while holding onto Eureka.
Eureka led her toward the tailor shop, not forgetting to criticize her disdainfully: "It's just pears with a little red wine added, and you actually got drunk!"
Sang Zhitao rubbed her dizzy temples and murmured incredulously, "I remember my alcohol tolerance was pretty good, how could I be so bad at drinking that I can't even handle one drink!"
Eureka scoffed at this before saying, "Is it possible that they used to trick you into thinking it was wine by pretending it was juice?"
"Impossible! I've drunk several bottles without getting drunk before, back in..." Sang Zhitao's eyes instantly cleared, and she quickly shut up and took back the words that were about to come out.
Eureka glanced at her suspiciously: "What are you doing?"
“I saw my father drinking at the palace, and I even tasted it. It couldn’t be this bad. I suspect the shopkeeper cheated me,” Sang Zhitao replied quickly, her eyes darting around.
Eureka had no interest in asking any further questions. She sighed and stopped talking, dragging her straight to the tailor shop.
Michelle was startled when they came in like that. But after taking a few quick steps and seeing Sang Zhitao's flushed face and smelling a faint aroma of red wine stewed pears, she instantly understood. She covered her mouth and laughed, saying, "Did you get drunk from eating pears?"
Eureka put her on a chair in the shop, stood beside her, and kept shaking her slightly sore arms, not forgetting to retort, "Who would have thought that a dish could knock her out?"
Sang Zhitao was actually much better by now, and she rolled her eyes at him before saying to Michelle, "Madam, is the dress ready?"
"Of course, are you satisfied with this?" Michelle unfolded a shirt to show her.
This is a light yellow shirt with beautiful lantern sleeves. The front is decorated with lace, as are the cuffs, while the rest of the shirt is simple, which perfectly matches Sang Zhitao's aesthetic.
"This is so beautiful!" Sang Zhitao exclaimed, holding up the clothes in front of herself.
“Wow, this really suits you, my lovely angel!” Mrs. Michel praised with a smile.
"This outfit is fine. Also, make ten more in the same style. Feel free to be creative with the designs. I'll have someone pick it up in seven days. Here's the deposit." Sang Zhitao placed the two rubies on the counter before picking up the clothes and tossing them to Eureka.
Eureka took the clothes helplessly, opened her mouth but didn't say anything to refuse. She just pulled the clothes closer and stood at the door waiting for Sang Zhitao to leave together.
Michelle was overjoyed, after all, this was a rare and huge order, and... she glanced furtively at the gems on the table and couldn't help but exclaim, "This is truly a big customer."
Sang Zhitao didn't linger. She and Eureka carried the snacks they had bought and returned to the ship.
"I'll go change my clothes first." Sang Zhitao took the clothes from Eureka's arms and walked towards the room.
"Then when is the competition?" Eureka called out anxiously from behind.
Sang Zhitao waved her hand without turning around and said, "Whatever you want."
“Then we’ll start once the others get back,” Eureka shouted.
“Okay!” Sang Zhitao replied.
After changing her clothes and enjoying the comfort of the well-fitting garments, she hung a dagger on her body, tied her black hair up high again with a matching hairband given to her by Michelle, put on the little leather boots she had bought, and then went out.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!!!" The cheers made Baron, who had just returned with his men, frown, fearing that troublemakers had arrived.
He led his men and hurried a few steps, squeezing through the surging crowd, until he finally breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the scene inside.
But when he saw that the two inside had already used weapons, his heart jumped into his throat. He unconsciously gripped the money bag in his hand, his brows furrowed. He wanted to go in and stop the two, but he was also afraid that he would disturb the duel and cause them to get hurt.
It wasn't until Sang Zhitao kicked Eureka's broadsword, breaking it in half and causing Eureka to stumble back several steps and fall to the ground, that she quickly stepped forward and said, "Alright, alright, swords have no eyes. How could you use weapons?"
Sang Zhitao casually tossed down the wooden stick in her hand and looked at Eureka.
Eureka showed no displeasure whatsoever. Instead, she looked at Sang Zhitao excitedly and said with delight, "I've finally found someone stronger than me. I'll acknowledge you as my boss."
"Boss! Boss! Boss!" the pirates on the ship shouted, their cries interspersed with Sang Zhi Tao's name, "Sylph! Sylph! Sylph!"
"How about it? How about it? I'll make you your first mate!" Eureka continued to urge.
"If you're the first mate, what am I supposed to be?" Baron rolled his eyes at him before looking at Sang Zhitao. "If you want to be the captain, that's fine, but I'll still be the first mate."
“Then I’ll be the second mate, what do you think? Anyway, we don’t have a full crew yet,” Eureka said.
“Alright, then from today onwards I will be the captain of the Anling.” Sang Zhitao raised her head slightly and accepted Eureka’s words.
"Whoosh! Captain! Captain! Captain!" The rest of the crew cheered loudly.
Sang Zhitao waved to everyone before being pulled by Baron and Eureka into the captain's cabin.
"What's wrong?" Sang Zhitao looked at Baron with a puzzled expression.
Baron placed several money boxes on the table, nodded, and said, "The money has been exchanged. We'll resupply and then continue our journey. Do you have any other ideas?"
Eureka shook her head, looking like she refused to think, and said, "No, just fix the knife I just broke."
Baron nodded and looked at Sang Zhitao.
Sang Zhitao thought for a moment and said, "First, change to a different ship, this one is too small. Second, upgrade everyone's weapons; my fleet can't be that bad. Third, we'll set sail again after we've recruited all the crew members."
Baron paused for a moment, silently calculating for a long time before saying, "In that case, this money is almost all spent."
Sang Zhitao said nonchalantly, "It's alright, after all, we still have plenty of gems, don't we?"
Seeing this, Baron could only nod in agreement, after all, the current captain was Sang Zhitao, and she had the right to be willful.
Baron's abilities far exceeded Sang Zhitao's expectations. In just a few days, beautiful ships, brand-new weapons, and excellent crew members were all ready, and they began their true adventure.
"Speaking of which, how did you manage to buy them all in just a few days?" Sang Zhitao asked suddenly as she lay on the deck, enjoying the sea breeze.
Barron lay on a deck chair nearby, staring at his fishing rod, and replied nonchalantly, "Ah, I just killed a captain."
Sang Zhitao suddenly turned to look at him, and seeing that he seemed completely unaware of what she had said, she asked incredulously, "What did you say?"
Baron turned his gaze away from the fishing rod and looked at Sang Zhitao calmly, saying, "There was some idiot bragging in the tavern about buying a new pirate ship and preparing a batch of weapons. I had been asking around for a few days and couldn't find any good ships or weapons, so I just robbed him. It won't interfere with Your Highness's business."
Sang Zhitao twitched her lips, opened her mouth, and finally sighed silently, saying nothing.
This is a world where the strong prey on the weak. Only the strong can avoid being harmed. When you are weak, you must keep your tail between your legs and be careful, or someone will teach you a lesson. This should be the first lesson Sang Zhitao has learned since coming to this world. She thought to herself and warned herself in her heart not to end up on someone else's dinner table and become someone else's food.
"Speaking of which, that fool also went there for the Dark Vortex. Even if he didn't die by my hand, he would have died by someone else's," Baron said solemnly to Sang Zhitao.
Sang Zhitao knew this was a comforting gesture from the other person, so she smiled back, accepted the kindness, and then focused her attention on the dark vortex.
