Chapter 139 Witnessing the Kiss
Carl set up his sniper rifle on the rooftop of an abandoned high-rise building and adjusted his scope, still looking as casual and uninhibited as ever. A voice kept urging him through his communicator, "Scavenger 13, the target is in the bridge arch, prepare to shoot."
Fifteen minutes ago, he received an urgent mission from the scavengers, who claimed to have found the location of the long-missing target through mental positioning.
Carl chewed gum and aimed the scope at the bridge hole in the distance. After searching for a few seconds, a young man appeared in his field of vision. He was talking to another person with his back to him.
"Roger that. Target detected."
Carl replied and was about to pull the trigger when he suddenly saw the boy's figure tilt, revealing the face of another person. Carl's hand trembled, he suddenly raised his head to look in the direction of the bridge hole, and immediately looked nervously through the scope.
Qiao Suisui and Anubis stood together, trying to walk out of the bridge arch. They seemed to be discussing something, but Anubis kept talking, and Qiao Suisui only occasionally replied. Carl could see the anxious and worried look on the boy's face as he argued, while Qiao Suisui looked determined.
The voice on the communicator sounded again, more urgent, "Scavenger No. 13, time is running out, shoot!"
Carl's finger was on the trigger, but he hesitated to pull the trigger. His eyes were fixed on Qiao Suisui, repeatedly confirming that he was not dazzled.
At this moment, Qiao Susu seemed to be impatient with the boy's nagging. She suddenly hooked the other's belt and pulled him in front of her, then stood on tiptoe and stopped only a few millimeters away from Anubis' lips.

Qiao Suisui's long hair was blown by the wind and brushed against his chest. She landed on her heels, let go of his belt, then looked up at the stunned boy and threatened, "I have decided to find evidence to prove it for the rebels. If you try to persuade me again, I will kiss you."
Just now, Anubis had been trying to tell her not to worry about the rebels. She knew that he was afraid that she would be implicated and put in danger.
Anubis' heart seemed to be about to jump out of his chest. He tried hard to calm himself, but the blush on his face betrayed his inner panic and excitement.
"You, you can't do this."
Qiao Sui Sui teased him, "What?"

"Their target is me. I'll distract them. You take this opportunity to leave quickly."

Anubis shook his head, "I've already been exposed. If I go to the Imperial Court with you, I'll get you into trouble."
