Chapter 140: Dead Bone Prisoner
Seeing that his face looked unhappy, Qiao Susu stopped asking questions and stood up to take back the wolf fang, but she saw that Carl had raised his arm as high as possible, and she couldn't reach it even if she stood on tiptoe.
“Karl, stop making trouble and give it back to me.”
Karl had a blank expression on his face, without any of his usual teasing or recklessness. He let her jump up and reach out for it, and he didn't give in at all.
"Karl, what do you want to do?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the man lowered his head and kissed her fiercely, biting her lower lip in frustration. He was obviously very angry, but he still controlled his strength and didn't have the heart to really hurt her.
Qiao Susu didn't understand why he suddenly appeared and was so crazy, so she pushed him away.
Her strength was not very strong, but it made the man take a step back helplessly.
"You can kiss him, but you can't kiss me?" His eyes were red and he gritted his teeth, "That street rat can, why can't I?"
Qiao Suisui saw that he was really angry and a little at a loss. Karl had always been at ease and casual in front of her, smiling most of the time. She had never seen him so serious.
Thinking of what he just said, Qiao Suisui frowned and asked, "Have you been monitoring us?"
"I'm on a mission. I didn't expect you to get involved with the rebels." Carl's expression was serious. He held her shoulders with both hands and said word by word: "Sui Sui, don't get close to him."
Qiao Suisui blinked twice and said, "It's too late."
Karl narrowed his eyes, his anger rising to his hair. He really wanted to press her down on his lap and spank her.
Before he could calm down, this ancestor made another request to him.
"Can you use Break to take me to the southern battlefield?"
"Impossible, that's suicide."
Qiao Sui Sui knew he wouldn't agree easily, so she stepped forward, grabbed his arm, and whispered in his ear, "Take me with you, and I'll agree to one condition."
The hot air sprayed on his earlobes, causing Carl's anger to shift to his lower abdomen.
The man was furious and grabbed her waist. His broad back formed a sharp contrast with the petite girl in his arms.
"What are you doing? Using my love for you to make a deal? What if my condition is that you be with me?"
"Then let's be together."
Karl was amused by her desperate attitude. He used his gloved hand to pinch her slender neck, the black leather and the radiant white of her skin forming a highly pleasing image. Her lips were still red and swollen, her eyes were wet, and the corners of her eyes were slightly raised, like a charming little fox.
The man's eyes were full of seriousness. He looked at her for a long time, but finally gave in.
"What I want is for you to fall in love with me willingly."
The two of them were in a stalemate for a while. Qiao Susu sighed and leaned over to kiss his chin.
Karl was stunned by the kiss. It's not like they haven't kissed before, but he was the one who took the initiative every time. This was the first time she took the initiative to move closer. The fire that had just been suppressed was stirred up again by her.
"What is this? A bribe?"
"Advance payment."
"What's the pre-order?" Karl understood what she meant. Last time, he brought the photo to Zongfang and asked her for labor dispatch fees. This time, she followed suit.
"You don't learn good things, you just learn these things."
Carl looked up, helplessly looking at the mottled marks on the top of the bridge hole, and had no respect for this little thing at all.
Qiao Suisui looked at him flatteringly and asked, "Then can you take me to the southern battlefield?"
"Kiss me again."
Qiao Susu obediently kissed his cheek again.
"One more kiss."
She stood on tiptoe and wanted to kiss his cheek, but a big hand wearing a black glove held her head down and kissed him directly on the lips.
His kiss was so intense that it seemed as if he wanted to fuse their souls together. Karl took advantage of the situation and rubbed her into his arms, lowering his head to deeply grab the air from her mouth. At that moment, it seemed as if the whole world disappeared.
It wasn't until Qiao Suisui was almost out of breath that Karl let her go with a nostalgic look. His eyes were filled with suppressed lust. "You'll piss me off to death sooner or later."
Karl finally agreed to take her to the southern battlefield, but Qiao Susu had to promise not to leave him for more than half a step.
-
Southern battlefield.
"Oh, what bad luck! Why did they send us to patrol this damn place?" A service member whispered to the person next to him with a hint of awe in his voice.
Another person whispered, "Of course I did! How did I get picked to be a prisoner of bones? I heard this used to be a village called Daline. Anyway, it's an unlucky place."
"Hey, how about we pretend to be injured and let the silver-haired guy go on his own?"
"Good idea."
After the two men finished their discussion, one of them suddenly fell to the ground, foaming at the mouth. The other hurriedly supported him and shouted to the man walking in front without saying a word, "What should we do? I'll stay and take care of him, or you can go in first!"
Zong Fang turned around coldly, glanced at the two people with poor acting skills, and didn't want to pay any attention to them. He walked forward alone, leaving the two sneaky people where they were.
Not long after, he was about to turn back after his inspection, but suddenly his foot slipped and he fell into a hidden pit.
Dust and smoke rose up.
In the darkness, he steadied himself and looked around in the dim light above him. The pit was filled with bones, like a huge grave.
Zongfang's expression remained unchanged. Encountering corpses on the southern battlefield was commonplace, but these bones seemed to have been sealed in the dust for a long time, leaving only bones that were no longer human. Zongfang's sharp eyes scanned the dim light. Suddenly, his gaze was caught by a flash of light.
He walked forward and looked at one of the corpses, which was wearing worn and faded clothes. He reached out and picked up the badge pinned on the clothes. It was this little thing that had emitted the light just now.
The emblem of the Federation is printed on it.
Zong Fang frowned slightly, squatting down to examine the details of the corpse. The remaining equipment and markings on the corpse confirmed that this person had been a member of the elite team in his lifetime.
A complicated look flashed across his eyes very quickly.
Then he accidentally discovered a recorder on the corpse. It seemed completely unusable, but he still took it off.
"Hey! Are you okay? Here's the rope, pull yourself up!"
It was the two men who saw that he had been gone for a long time and came over bravely.
Zongfang put the recorder in his pocket, turned around to take one last look at the corpse, and then nimbly climbed up the edge of the wall with his bare hands. The two looked at each other in confusion and awkwardly put away the useless rope.
After returning, there was routine reporting and training. At night, when everyone was asleep, Zongfang repaired the recorder in a few seconds with very simple tools.
The recorder's screen lit up, and Munakata was sitting on a towering, huge rock with the wasteland behind him.
He lowered his head and looked at the video clips on the screen. When he turned to the last clip, his pupils suddenly contracted.
The last scene in the recorder was a battleship with a Federation logo dropping bombs, instantly plunging the surroundings into a purgatory. The cries of ordinary people and the intermittent calls for help and evacuation from the elite team members over the intercom all proved the tragedy of it all.
The night wind ruffled his hair, but the man remained motionless, as if frozen. After a long moment, he removed the memory chip from the recorder and inserted it beneath the skin of his forearm, then destroyed the recorder.
At the same time, Qiao Suisui and Carl had just set foot on the battlefield in the South.
Everyone's fate has changed quietly.
