Chapter 218 Lan Ze’s Perspective (Part 3)
Lan Ze followed Sang Yan into the imperial court smoothly and found that the entire imperial court was surrounded by guards in different uniforms inside and outside. At least 6 member states joined forces in this operation and finally captured Oslan ruled by Liberi.
A commander saw Sang Yan and walked over quickly with an ugly look on his face.
"I heard that you and the Sun of Oslan are old acquaintances. Look at this situation..." The commander covered his mouth with his hand and whispered something to Sang Yan. Sang Yan nodded and said calmly, "Leave it to me."
Lan Ze was beside them, only concerned about when he could see Sui Sui. He was already extremely anxious, but his face did not show it. Therefore, he did not hear what they were talking about. He just followed Sang Yan into a large hall.
He was very familiar with this place. It was where his father discussed affairs with the cabinet every day. When he was young, he was held in his father's lap and listened to his father handle government affairs.
"Why are you here? Aren't we going to the top floor of the castle?"
As Lan Ze finished speaking, he noticed an empty wine bottle rolling down the steps next to the high throne, making a tinkling sound.
He looked over and saw a disheveled man leaning against the throne, his eyes bloodshot and his appearance decadent and haggard. It was Liberi.
Lan Ze was stunned.
Before, he only heard Sang Yan say that he was crazy, and he thought it was sarcasm. Now seeing his mental state, he found that it was indeed a little different from that of ordinary people.
Liberi was lying on the ground, his head drooping on the steps, his legs draped over the throne in an ungraceful manner, staring at them like a hanged man.
By this time, Liberi had lost his former elegance and refinement. Sometimes he acted like a child, hiding from everyone, and sometimes like a tyrant, beheading innocent servants. Occasionally, he would be quiet, like when he entered the attic.
He would still put on his most gorgeous clothes, shave off his beard, and clean himself up before going to see her.
Then every night I would be tortured by headaches and become a ghost with disheveled hair, living one day at a time.
"What are you doing here?" Liberi picked up a wine bottle and threw it at Sang Yan. "I've told her so many times that she will wake up when she wants to. You are all so annoying. You always come to disturb her."
Sang Yan didn't argue with him. He sighed softly and said, "They've broken in. You can survive if you surrender."
"Hahahahahaha!" Libery laughed crazily. "Do you really think I'm stupid? Why should I keep this life? To let them insult and torture me?"
He has offended too many people over the years.
At first, those nations were terrified of his madness, but gradually they united, turning their anger at the destruction of their homes into motivation to fight back. But Libery, however, seemed to have found pleasure, becoming even more excited. He killed more and more people, and the smoke of war grew thicker.
Sang Yan asked calmly, "Why did you have to go to such lengths? Back when Oslan and the Freedom Alliance joined forces, you and Scorsese were invincible. You could have simply seceded from the Federation, no longer subject to others' control, and lived your own lives in peace. But why did you escalate?"
"Yeah, hahahaha why?" Libery rolled over weakly, leaning against the throne like a puddle of mud. He pointed to his heart and said, "Maybe it's because I hurt here, so I want others to feel the same pain."
Liberi held his head and laughed so hard that he didn't even realize that tears were coming out of his eyes.
He staggered to his feet, spread his arms and looked around the magnificent hall. "What's the use of all this? Without her, what's the point of me taking all this! Let them kill me!"
A hint of pity flashed across Sang Yan's eyes, but he didn't say anything more in the end.
Lan Ze has been unusually silent since just now.
He had foreseen Liberi's fate. He should have become the most distinguished Sun in the history of the Oslan Empire. He bore some resemblance to the second Sun: Liberi's achievements were impeccable, but his personal affairs were criticized by future generations. He imprisoned Qiao Suisui on the top floor of the castle, and the two ultimately fell out. Suisui left him, leaving Liberi in agony. This was why he had warned him—no consequences were the best outcome. He hoped he wouldn't push Suisui to the extreme.
But now, it's different. Everything is different. Not only Liberi, but Scorsese as well. He should have been the glory of the entire family, taking over the Scorsese family, becoming the unshakable duke of Oslan, and officially inheriting the talent after marrying Su Su. But he died alone in the bathtub of the other palace.
Everything is messed up!
Lan Ze was in a state of anxiety. Without waiting for Sang Yan, he turned around and headed straight for the castle.
He must see Sui Sui immediately.
Top floor.
Within this magnificent palace, from its resplendent halls to its exquisitely elegant inner chambers, an atmosphere of peace and tranquility permeates. Here, there is no clamor or strife, only tranquility and peace. Every corner is meticulously furnished and decorated, showcasing the palace's nobility and elegance, creating a stark separation from the outside world, like a man-made paradise.
The hall was empty. Lan Ze walked silently on the carpet. It was so quiet that only his heartbeat could be heard.
Even though I knew I would see her soon, I still couldn't help feeling a little timid.
Lan Ze walked into the deepest part of the hall and saw a huge rectangular crystal coffin between the gauze curtains.
The temperature here is extremely low, but for some unknown reason, all the items are not frozen or frosted, and everything is normal.
He walked up the steps, approached slowly, and looked into the crystal coffin. He saw the girl sleeping peacefully on a comfortable red velvet cushion, her black hair covering the pillow. Her face was radiant, with fair skin, rosy lips, and long eyelashes like a feather fan. She was very peaceful and at peace with the world.
No matter who saw it, it was just a sleeping girl. No one would believe that the owner of this body had been gone for ten years.
Lan Ze's eyes were red with emotion. He wanted to reach out and touch her hand, but the next second, a silver light flashed, and poisonous fangs and a blood-red tongue were spit out, intimidating anyone not to get close.
"Is it you?"
Lan Ze quickly regained his composure. He saw a silver king cobra swimming out of the crystal coffin and transforming into a silver-haired, bare-chested man when it landed.
There was a silver scale on his left chest, which had long lost its original luster. There was an ugly scab around the scale, and some places were even newly grown, hideous tender flesh, glowing red.
"Let me make it short. Don't let Sang Yan take Sui Sui away." Lan Ze said anxiously.
He saw Zongfang's silver eyes staring at him numbly and indifferently, without any reaction, and frowned again: "He wants to bury Sui Sui in peace, you can't let him do that."
Finally, the man in front of him showed some reaction.
He seemed to remember something, and in a hoarse and dry voice from not speaking for a long time, he asked Lan Ze: "What month is it?"
