Chapter 30 Don't Argue with Fools

"Who is the girl looking for? The family next door moved out yesterday."

Tianyun paused, realizing she was too late. "They moved away?"

The old woman seemed to be answering this question before, and without thinking, she blurted out, "Yes, I heard that someone in that family died the day before yesterday, and the whole family thought the house was unlucky, so they all moved away."

Hearing this, her hope was rekindled. "Does the old lady know where they buried the body? I... I'm his distant cousin, and I want to go burn some paper money for him."

She watched as the old woman's expression grew increasingly impatient, and then another sentence shattered her hopes: "I vaguely remember that person's ashes, they seem to be buried in the area behind the mountain." With that, she slammed the door shut.

Ashes...

The body has been burned, making it impossible to determine the cause of death.

Now there's no way to prove it!

Tianyun stood there for a while, then walked back in a daze, unaware that she had been watched by a group of people ever since she left the small village.

Her thoughts became chaotic again. When she came to her senses, she realized that she had entered a deserted alley. This made it easy for the people who had been following her to show themselves and block her way out.

A sharp killing intent swept over her, sending a chill down Tianyun's spine. She turned around and looked back.

The four people who came all had their faces covered with black cloth, and they stood in a row, completely blocking the way out.

She bit her lip, trying to calm herself down: "Who are you people?" It took a lot of effort for her not to show panic on her face.

Unfortunately, no one responded to her.

The group of men in black had been lying in ambush near the woman's residence since early morning, waiting for any suspicious person to come and inquire about information. They would seize the opportunity to kidnap the person and force her to reveal the formula for the ointment.

Although Tianyun had disguised herself, her demeanor and bearing were not those of a village woman who worked in the fields all year round, which was the most suspicious thing.

This also convinced the man in black that she was the "rabbit".

Ultimately, it was Tianyun's carelessness. Living in the sunshine of modern society, she had never experienced such darkness and did not realize that this was an era where people could be kidnapped at will.

Her lips were bitten until they turned white. She stared intently into the eyes of the leader and asked in a low voice, "What do you want to do?" She had already disguised herself so well, yet they still managed to target her. It must have been premeditated!

As she spoke, she retreated towards the wall until she was pressed against it, with nowhere left to go. Out of the corner of her eye, she looked around, trying to find a suitable place to escape.

But after a while, she realized with despair that this seemed to be a dead end, and the man in black was blocking her only way out!
