"Be smart and hand over the prescription for the plaster. Otherwise... this day next year will be your death anniversary!" the leader said.
Although he spoke coldly and briefly, Tianyun still noticed the unnaturalness in his tone, which didn't sound like an accent from the Great Liang territory.
The man in black approached her with a knife raised, the blade flashing coldly and reflecting his murderous intent in his eyes. With just a flick of his wrist, he could decapitate her.
"Absolutely impossible." If the prescription is given, not only will he not survive, but his brother in prison will also not survive!
To disguise herself as a peasant woman, she was as plain as possible. At this moment, she had nothing to protect herself. Tianyun pulled out the only silver hairpin from her hair bun, held it tightly in her hand, and looked at the people in front of her with a wary gaze.
"Don't come any closer!"
At this moment, one must not show even a hint of fear, or one will only die faster. Yet, such a delicate figure has no deterrent effect whatsoever.
"Make your move!" the leader shouted in a low voice.
Just then, a figure appeared backlit at the other end of the alley!
This scene was so familiar, as if they had returned to their first meeting, when he had also descended like a god. Tianyun's eyes reddened as she thought this.
Xiao Ziwu, sword in hand, sped over, feeling only relief.
Thankfully, we made it in time.
On his face, however, he showed no sign of weakness. He was like a sharp sword drawn from its sheath, calmly facing the four men in black, and was not at a disadvantage at all.
Tianyun heard a loud "bang—" as the weapons clashed. The speed of their hands was so fast that she could only see afterimages. Her heart was pounding in her chest, fearing that the next blow would land on him. She could only clench her hands tightly, suppressing the scream that wanted to escape her lips, so as not to distract the boy.
The boy's moves were fierce, and the four men in black gradually became overwhelmed. So the leader turned his attention to Tianyun.
She felt a gust of wind rush towards her face, and a black broadsword, sharp enough to cut through iron like mud, carrying a murderous aura that could destroy the heavens and the earth, swung straight towards her! For a moment, her legs seemed to be nailed to the spot, and she could only watch helplessly as the deadly blade approached her!
Xiao Zi looked over without being distracted, his pupils dilated, and he knocked back the three men with a single sword strike.
She then felt someone gently pull her around the waist and turn her around. The knife slashed into the wall next to her, carving half a meter deep into it!
Seeing this, Xiao Ziwu stabbed him in the heart before he could draw his sword.
With their leader wounded, the men in black were clearly outmatched and ceased fighting. They exchanged glances, "Retreat!" and used their lightness skills to escape. Xiao Ziwu wanted to give chase, but she grabbed his collar: "Don't pursue a desperate enemy, it will be dangerous!"
You still know it's dangerous?
The boy sheathed his sword, and blood slowly dripped from it. His face was extremely pale; he couldn't imagine what would have happened if he had arrived even a moment later.
"Is Your Highness injured?" Tianyun anxiously pulled him over to check, and just then heard a muffled groan, but she didn't know if it was him who made it.
Xiao Ziwu shook his head, his voice so cold it could drop icy shards: "How could you come here alone? Do you know..."
Before he could finish his lecture, the girl's beautiful eyes welled up with tears, and her pitiful appearance made him unable to say anything more.
She was terrified, and her feigned composure vanished the moment she saw the boy; her little hands were still trembling.
She suddenly hugged the boy in front of her, sobbing softly, "I'm a little scared." Her usual composure crumbled the moment she saw Xiao Ziwu.
The boy's embrace, though not as broad as an adult's, was incredibly warm. Being completely enveloped by his burning breath made her feel completely at ease.
Xiao Ziwu felt a soft cloud rush into his arms, his embrace filled with a sweet fragrance and warmth. He took a deep breath, unsure of what to do with his hands.
The person in his arms was still trembling slightly. He gently raised his arm and awkwardly encircled her. Her slender, soft waist was no thicker than a willow branch, as if it would break if broken, so he dared not exert any force.
He awkwardly patted her on the back to soothe her, letting the dust from her face stain her clothes. His voice finally softened a bit: "Don't cry, it's alright now."
But the next moment, the words of admonition still sounded somewhat harsh.
"Don't do that again next time."
Tianyun nuzzled sweetly against his neck, nodded gently, and hugged him even tighter, secretly vowing never to go out alone again!
"Your Highness..."
She called out softly and then fell silent, her voice still trembling with sobs, like a little cub pleading for comfort.
Xiao Ziwu's heart trembled uncontrollably, his eyes darkening slightly. "Hmm?"
She shook her head shyly to indicate that she was alright, and then stepped out of his embrace. When she saw the stains left on his snow-white clothes, she realized that she was still wearing a clumsy disguise on her face!
Two thick, dark eyebrows, and a face covered in dust with two white lines from tears, but the surrounding area was still dusty and ugly!
She gasped and buried her face in his chest, her cheeks flushed with shame.
It's amazing how he can remain so calm in the face of her current ugly expression!
"I'm sorry, Your Highness's clothes are dirty."
Xiao Ziwu didn't seem to care much. He glanced at it and said, "Then you'll be in charge of cleaning."
Seeing that she had calmed down, he offered to take her back to her residence.
He even bought her a candied hawthorn on the way, which surprised Tianyun, who secretly glanced at him.
