Chapter 41 Mother will set off to find your father tomorrow.

The snake cubs clapped almost instinctively, cheering for the cat.

Originally angry and wanting to teach Hu Feng'er, who was talking nonsense, a lesson, Gal smiled in exasperation and looked in the direction of Mao Duoduo, a smile appearing in his eyes.

The commotion was so loud that it attracted the attention of the surrounding orcs, who gasped at the sight.

Soon enough, a familiar orc voice rang out, telling CatDodo and HuFeng'er to temporarily cease hostilities.

"Enough! Do you all want to be driven out of the village together?"

The one speaking was Siri, the ape-man.

His stern face put a lot of pressure on people.

Mao Duoduo coughed and quickly explained that Hu Feng'er had provoked them by coming to their door for no reason.

Hu Feng'er was even more unconvinced, her eyes brimming with tears. She brought up the fact that the cat, Duo Duo, had hit her, and pointed specifically in the direction of Gal, saying, "Chieftain, you have to be reasonable. We can't bring any males of dubious origin into our village."

That's true.

At the very least, after Hu Feng'er said that, many of the males present expressed their agreement. She also twitched her lips, thinking about the male-to-female ratio in the village.

There are over two hundred males and just over twenty females, a severely unbalanced ratio. If a few more males were to arrive, the competition would be too fierce, and serious problems could arise.

“Chieftain, I can explain—” CatDodo had always thought that Gal was a wandering beastman. Seeing that he was hardworking and capable and had not taken advantage of her and her child, she wanted to speak up for him.

Xili interrupted, saying calmly, "The village does not accept males from Mingqimiao."

Upon hearing this, Hu Feng'er was smug, Mao Duoduo had a headache, and Jia'er remained indifferent.

Fortunately, Siri offered an additional condition: "Either of two options. Either he becomes your cat Duoduo's companion and stays here, or he reveals his identity and finds a place to live."

The choice is simple; basically, all the wandering orcs outside have the opportunity to stay.

Mao Duoduo breathed a sigh of relief, while Hu Feng'er muttered that it was unfair, but with Xili's intimidating presence, she dared not speak out easily for fear of implicating her family.

Gal remained silent, which made CatDodo quite nervous. What was wrong with him?

“Your choice is—” Siri stared unblinkingly in Gal’s direction, causing the hearts of many orcs present to tighten.

Gal lowered his eyes and said nothing more. In the sunlight, this white tiger beastman looked very handsome and extraordinary, yet he gave off an inexplicable sense of melancholy.

Cat Duoduo sighed inwardly, deciding to consider it a good deed by delivering the package home.

She gritted her teeth and tried to smooth things over: "Chieftain, how about this? He probably can't make a choice in a short time, so let's ask him to reconsider."

The main reason is that CatDodo thinks the other party will choose to reveal their identity. Clearly, Gal has a special past, and he's unwilling to talk about it, which is why they're stuck at this point.

"In that case, let's be lenient for a few days."

After saying this, Siri warned everyone not to cause trouble, otherwise the orcs who caused the trouble would be asked to do the work of repairing the river embankment.

The mere mention of repairing the riverbank terrified many of the beastmen present, who, unwilling to watch the spectacle, scrambled away.

After they left, CatDodo breathed a sigh of relief and said to Gal, "Okay, thank you for your hard work. Just put down the salt stone and break it for me."

"Hmm." As if nothing had happened, Gal continued working.

The snake cubs pursed their lips, exchanged glances, suppressed their emotions, and continued to tend the fire.

Cat Duoduo was working hard, extracting a lot of white salt and reaping a bountiful harvest, filling several bamboo tubes. Thanks to her efforts throughout the morning, she decided to put her skills to good use at noon and in the evening.

One chirping chicken, one bouncing beast, and a constant stream of delicious food and drinks. There's even time at night to teach a few snake cubs how to look at the moon, find the North Star, and determine direction.

The snake cubs, still a little dazed, asked curiously before going to sleep when they could be raised in the pit by the cat.

"Well, I need to do some more research on this..." Maoduoduo seemed a bit conflicted when she mentioned this.

The snake cubs quickly took a bath and went to bed. Cat Duoduo, however, sat outside, propping her chin on her hand, muttering, "You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? Sigh..."

Having transmigrated, she found herself heading towards becoming a large-scale livestock farmer. Damn it, she wondered when she'd be able to successfully domesticate chickens and rabbits.

Just then, a figure appeared behind CatDodo and sat down next to CatDodo.

Seeing that it was the other person, Maoduo didn't seem to care and said, "Aren't you going to sleep yet?"

"Hmm." As always, Gal was extremely quiet, which didn't surprise CatDodo, until the next round, when Gal said, "I like you."

“…Huh?” Maoduoduo was stunned and turned her head with difficulty to look over.

The other person's handsome face remained unwaveringly serious, and her reflection was even visible in their eyes. CatDodo had no choice but to believe that what the other person said was entirely true.

She moved her lips, wanting to say that the other person was talking nonsense, but under Gal's serious expression, CatDodo couldn't bring herself to say a single lie.

After a long pause, Maoduoduo finally spoke: "I'm sorry."

“Hmm, I know.” Gal’s words left CatDodo somewhat confused.

What exactly does the other party know...?

Just then, there was a sound of something falling to the ground. Cat Duoduo rushed over to check, and almost as soon as she ran into the house, she found that the animal skins covering the snake cubs all smelled of being hastily laid.

Her gaze finally settled on Snake Three's tail, which was wagging involuntarily; the other creature was acting up again...

After spending some time together, Maoduo got to know the little habits of these snake cubs. For example, Snake Three was the most typical; whenever its emotions were unstable, its tail would wag incessantly.

Mao Duoduo sat down next to them, watched for a while, and noticed that their breathing was unsteady before speaking: "You heard that just now, didn't you?"

"Don't worry, Mommy has already rejected him..." The main reason is that Cat Dodo was very surprised by Gal's confession, and she really didn't have any feelings for him.

Mao Duoduo has always been very direct and sincere in matters of the heart. If she doesn't like something, she doesn't like it. She would never play any tricks like those guys Bao Lie, who keep people in suspense.

Snake Three finally couldn't hold back any longer. He got up and threw himself into Cat Duo Duo's arms, sobbing softly, "Mother, I miss Father."

"Sigh." What else could Maoduo say but gently rub the little guy?

Snake One and Snake Two couldn't resist either, and stepped forward to hug her. They were already used to using human form, which meant they would transform into their original form when hunting.

When they were in human form, their tears fell in a steady stream, which really softened CatDodo's heart.

"Alright, stop doing this. We'll go find your father tomorrow."

"Really?"

"When did Mother ever lie?"
