Chapter 49 Process

When the group arrived at the police station, the middle-aged man confessed without waiting for the police to interrogate him.

“That woman posted online, and I accepted the post. She even asked me to ruin her face with sulfuric acid. How could I do such a thing? I just wanted to earn some living expenses. I would never do such a despicable thing.”

“I was afraid something would go wrong, so I replaced the bottle with diluted sulfuric acid.”

"Officer, you can try it if you don't believe me. Your skin will only turn red for a moment, and it will subside in a day or two."

The middle-aged man gave a wry smile and emphasized it again.

“Everything I’m saying is true. If you don’t believe me, you can try it on me.”

"Speak less. If you knew this would happen, you wouldn't have done it in the first place."

A middle-aged policeman came out from inside. His eyes swept over Huo Zhongyuan, and his expression changed instantly. He strode forward with a serious look on his face.

"Mr. Huo, it's you! Are you injured?"

He was in his office just now when the intern police officer handling the case said that the two people who came might be unusual.

Their police station belongs to an upscale circle, and most of the people involved have extraordinary backgrounds.

However, seeing Huo Zhongyuan still surprised him; he was a heavyweight figure in Huating's financial circle.

Huo Zhongyuan nodded reservedly, his expression indifferent. He glanced down at Qin Suisui, who was deep in thought.

"Director Sun, I'm fine, but my lawyer Qin might be a little shaken."

He looked at Director Sun and introduced him.

"This is Qin Suisui, the head of the Law Offices of Luo Dun."

Qin Sui looked up and nodded at Director Sun.

"Hello!"

"Sheffield from the Law Offices of Roeton!" Director Sun quickly smiled.

"I've heard about Sheffield from the Law Offices of Rhodes for a long time, and today I finally get to meet him."

"Lawyer Qin, how are you feeling? Is there anything bothering you?"

"Director Sun, I was a little frightened, and my head is still a bit dizzy."

"I just want to know who ordered him to throw sulfuric acid at me. This is too heinous. If he succeeds, my life will be ruined."

Upon hearing the word "sulfuric acid," Huo Zhongyuan felt as if his heart was being gripped and he was suffocating.

The look in his eyes as he looked at the middle-aged man grew increasingly cold.

No way, the gaze was so intense it stung his entire body. The middle-aged man had a feeling that even if he went out, he might get a sack over his head and get beaten up.

Director Sun sensed the seriousness of the situation from Qin Lu's tone, and he frowned as he spoke.

"Lawyer Qin, it's already very late. In order not to disturb your rest, why don't you give your statement first? We will notify you as soon as we have the results."

"Qin Suisui, what do you think?"

Huo Zhongyuan looked at Qin Suisui.

"Okay, shall we go back first?"

Qin Suisui unconsciously looked at her senior brother.

"That's settled then, Director Sun. We'll go back and wait for your instructions."

"No problem, we'll conduct a surprise interrogation tonight and try to get results by tomorrow."

With a smile on his face, Chief Sun escorted the two out of the police station.

It was late at night, and the streets were unusually lively. The sounds of middle-aged women exercising, jogging, and dancing in the square, along with the laughter of children, mingled with the gentle breeze, creating an intoxicating atmosphere around them.

At this moment, in Huo Zhongyuan's eyes, Qin Suisui had beautiful eyebrows and eyes, and her eyes were clear and bright.

Do you have someone in mind?

His voice was deep and gentle.

The senior's question made Qin Suisui's mind suddenly tighten, and she spoke calmly and gently.

"In Huating, I only had some conflicts with Anru from the An family."

"settle down?"

Huo Zhongyuan nodded knowingly, not missing the evasive look in Qin Suisui's eyes. He was a little confused, but he didn't think about it too much.

"Senior Brother Huo, you can go ahead if you have something to do. Don't worry about me, I'm fine now."

Qin Suisui glanced at her assistant, who was trailing behind her, and felt a little embarrassed. After standing still, she looked up at Huo Zhongyuan.

"I just heard from your assistant that your client has been waiting for you for quite some time."

"Hmm, you're really alright?"

Huo Zhongyuan asked again casually.

"It's really nothing."

Qin Suisui nodded affirmatively, and thinking of how her senior brother had been delayed several times because of her, she tentatively asked.

"Senior brother, do you have any free time in the next few days?"

"What's up?"

Huo Zhongyuan's sharply defined features were faintly visible in the darkness, making it impossible to discern his emotions.

"I've been troubling you a lot, senior brother. I'd like to invite you to a simple meal. Would you mind?"

"Add me on WeChat first, and I'll contact you tomorrow."

Huo Zhongyuan took out his phone, opened the QR code, and handed it to Qin Suisui.

"OK."

Qin Suisui picked up her phone to scan, her lips pursed, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up.

Seeing her application quickly approved, she was delighted, and a hint of joy was visible on her face.

Huo Zhongyuan stood by the roadside watching Qin Suisui get into a taxi before turning to his assistant.

However, his voice was no longer as gentle as before, and he said coldly, "Let's go."

The next morning, Qin Suisui had just arrived at her office when she received a call from the police station. The police officer asked her to come to the police station to deal with what happened the day before.

"Thank you, Director Sun. I'll be right there."

After hanging up the phone, she couldn't help but smile. According to her plan, the police station would definitely not give a result so quickly. It must be the pressure from her senior brother Huo that forced the police station to speed up the interrogation.

Although the middle-aged man hired by the person who took the job wouldn't deny it and would definitely reveal the reason immediately, it wouldn't have been as smooth as it is now. At least the police would have notified Anjia in advance and only found her in the end.

With Senior Brother Huo around, neither side of the police station wanted to offend anyone. Thinking about it this way, she could imagine An Ru's frustration.
