While Lin Dao was holding him, Bryta thought for a moment, then secretly reached out and made his hand longer and softer, quickly scooped up the white mouse from the table not far behind him, and quietly put it into Mr. Lin Dao's coat pocket.
Let Tata 2 accompany Mr. Lin Dao from now on.
That night, Lin Dao took the little creature that had been secretly put in his pocket out of his room. He held it by its tail in front of his eyes, and its nose, eyes, and belly were all strangely similar to the creature's.
He couldn't help but chuckle, and put the mechanical white mouse into the inner pocket of his clothes.
The next morning, when they set off, Blaita didn't come to see them off. Xiang You couldn't help but tease, "Someone's been waiting anxiously for this moment."
Cheng Cheng crossed his arms, looked around, and muttered, "Did he sleep too late and not get up yet?"
"No need, let's go," Lin Dao said.
After swallowing its remaining luggage, Blaita transformed back into its original form and darted out along the corner of the room with Little White. Unfamiliar with the geography of Mechanical Sky City, the best way to leave was to hitch a ride.
While they were boarding, Blaita quickly climbed to the bottom of the helicopter. Little White extended several vines to find a fixed point, and Blaita quickly spat out a vehicle that it had prepared beforehand. After securing it to the bottom of the fuselage, it steadily moved its little bottom to sit on it and fastened its seatbelt.
Everyone boarded the plane and the cabin doors were closed. The spinning propellers created a large gust of wind, blowing the downy fur on Bleta's body, who was at the bottom, to one side.
The helicopter ascended rapidly, leaving the rooftop helipad. The little white mouse, Blaita, felt the continuous upward movement and looked down in astonishment at the steel city slowly shrinking below.
"Where are we going?" Bryta asked, as if to Little White, or perhaps to herself.
Soon it flew away with the helicopter, and all that could be seen was golden desert.
Yellow sand swirled in the wind, chasing its face; Bletta swallowed a handful of dust and spat it out. Meanwhile, just across the cabin, the others either closed their eyes to rest or discussed their upcoming destination, the Arctic Snow Fortress.
Bretta would occasionally open her eyes to glance at the situation below, her sleep punctuated by wakefulness. They had left the desert and were now hovering above an abandoned city. Wild grass grew rampant below, the city was in ruins, and they could see many alien species scattered about, foraging for food.
After thinking for a moment, Blaita decided to go down from here first. It discussed it with Little White, opened its homemade parachute, opened its eyes wide, and jumped down.
The wind lashed at its face, while Little White clung tightly to its body. After finding a foothold, it flew out of its vines and snuggled onto the railing of an abandoned rooftop. It then flew over with Little White in tow, controlling the direction of descent. The moment it landed, the umbrella covered the entire mouse.
Bryta was stunned for two seconds before emerging from under the umbrella.
It tucked its two paws into its body, looked up and watched the helicopter fly overhead and roar away.
Bryta raised his paw and shook it, muttering, "Goodbye, everyone."
Lin Dao sensed something, turned his head to look out the cabin window, and saw the clouds gathering and dispersing on the horizon.
Blaita twitched her nose, then turned and quickly darted downstairs with Little White.
It sensed that there was good, fresh food in this building.
Sure enough, as soon as it turned the corner, it heard a loud noise that was getting closer and closer.
A few seconds later, a cockroach almost the size of an adult appeared in front of Blaita, staring at her with a poised-to-attack look.
"Little White!" As soon as Bletta called out, Little White shot out several vines and flew out, quickly binding the cockroach tightly.
Bretta's stomach had been growling for a while, and drool was hanging from her mouth without her noticing, falling down and burning two holes in it.
The cockroach sensed a threat to its life and struggled in terror. In the next instant, the white mouse pounced on it and bit it.
Not to be outdone, Little White stretched out its vine and burrowed into the alien creature's shell, happily absorbing the liquid it needed.
After the whirlwind swept away the debris, only an empty ruin remained on the ground. Blaita licked his lips and continued downstairs with Little White.
Before long, they successfully hunted down two or three more alien species and were thoroughly full.
At the same time, the other mutants in the building received the news and hurriedly lined up at the first-floor stairwell to escape.
Unaware of this, Britta lazily curled up on the ground, snuggling up to the little white rose, and yawned as she fell asleep.
When Bletta woke up the next day and went to look for food, it found the building empty, so it had to run out to find food.
Born in a laboratory, Britta, as a lab rat, had absolutely no hunting experience. She didn't realize that by alerting the prey, most of it would have already fled.
After aimlessly going hungry and full in this abandoned city, Blaita grew disgusted with the feeling.
It raised its head and stared at the blue sky above for two seconds, then quickly turned around, darted into a building, and rushed to the rooftop.
A few seconds later, Bretta transformed back into human form after a long absence, and changed into clothes. Only then did he feel somewhat at ease.
Xiao Bai asked, puzzled, "What's wrong, Tata?"
Bryta turned her head and murmured, "How about we go find Mr. Lin Dao?"
"Huh? Why?" Xiaobai asked, wrapping the flowers around his shoulder in confusion. "Didn't we finally get out? We can eat so much delicious food here every day."
“But…” Bleta hesitated, “it’s not actually that delicious.”
He looked up blankly at the azure sky above and said, "None of them seem to smell as good as Mr. Lin Dao."
noob:"……"
Bretta thought for a moment and said, "Besides, actually... I think being a person isn't so bad."
"I just can't do anything with you."
"But where are we going to find them now? They're going to... what cod burger?" Little White wondered.
Bretta recalled: "Polar Snow Castle."
"Then let's go!"
“How do we get there? Towards…” Bryta looked around, “Which way?”
"..." Xiaobai, "Then how do we get there?"
Britta finally decided to leave the ruined city first.
He walked along the empty city streets with a white rose wrapped around his shoulder, surrounded by desolation.
Blaita listened as the wind swirled up the city's old, tattered garbage, and ancient, worn-out plastic bags were blown into the sky and carried away.
Bretta wandered aimlessly for two days before finally emerging from the ruined city.
His once fair face was now smudged with dust, making his little face look somewhat dusty. Along the way, strange creatures that coveted him would occasionally appear. Bretta conjured a scythe with a wave of his hand and swung it down. A flash of light, and the unlucky wild dog that had pounced on him froze in mid-air. After a moment, a ring of blood seeped from its neck, and it howled and collapsed with a thud.
Bryta wasn't very hungry, so Little White kept sucking her clean.
He continued walking, lost in thought. These things he had once feared didn't seem so scary anymore. In his eyes, they had now become completely harmless food.
Of course, this was also due to his excellent luck; he didn't encounter any particularly troublesome alien species along the way. If he were in the wild, large groups of alien creatures would be a much more difficult challenge.
Soon, he arrived in the suburbs and unexpectedly encountered a giant beetle and another large green caterpillar covered in hair fighting each other.
Bryta crouched under a large patch of green leaves, transformed into her original form, and prepared to take a detour. However, the seemingly weak caterpillar unexpectedly reversed course and spit out white silk, entangling the entire beetle and rendering it unable to move.
Then, Blaita watched in astonishment as the caterpillar enjoyed a sumptuous lunch.
Just as it was about to lift its leg to continue walking, a white thread wrapped around its little foot and lifted it up with a "whoosh".
Bryta, standing upside down, frowned, which unexpectedly reminded it of the feeling of being entangled by the tip of that big black snake's tail.
"Tata!" Little White cried out anxiously, immediately releasing several vines that instantly bound the caterpillar tightly, which was about to open its mouth.
The caterpillar was stunned. It watched as the white mouse it had caught stretched out its claws and produced something like a blade, cutting the silk that the mouse was spitting out. Then it fell down, and the moment it landed, it transformed into a human boy!
"!" The caterpillar-like mutant was terrified. "What kind of monster is this?!"
Bleta wasn't actually hungry, but staring at the long, green caterpillar in front of him reminded him of a certain large black snake, which inexplicably aroused his appetite, and his stomach started rumbling.
A clear liquid hung from the corner of his mouth, dripping down with a hissing sound, and emitting white smoke of corrosion on the ground.
The caterpillar stared in disbelief: "Mommy!"
But it no longer had the chance to find its mother.
Then, as it watched the beautiful human boy approach, who appeared like a demon in its eyes, it trembled with fear.
Soon, it instinctively began to spin silk rapidly, and in just a few strokes, it had wrapped its body in one or two layers of white cocoon as thin as a cicada's wing.
The little white creature that had entangled itself felt the sticky white silk and immediately withdrew its vine in disgust. The other creature, however, became even faster and frantically spun a cocoon.
Bretta was stunned. He reached out and curiously poked the increasingly thick and white cocoon until the caterpillar had completely wrapped itself inside before he realized what was happening.
"..." I miscalculated.
He could have swallowed the cocoon whole, but Britta was quite curious. He had read a biology encyclopedia and knew that after a caterpillar spins a cocoon, it breaks free and becomes a butterfly.
"Butterflies, they must be so beautiful," Britta said to herself.
"Great! I can have a butterfly!" Thinking this, ignoring Little White's objections, Blaita found some natural wood in the suburbs and made a small trailer. She put the large white cocoon on it, made two wheels, and continued on her way, dragging the cocoon.
He only remembered that the Arctic Snow Fortress was in the north, so he continued northward.
On the way, after who knows how many days, one night, the white cocoon stirred. It tried to warm the cocoon with its own body heat to urge it to break out of the cocoon. Bretta, who was sleeping next to it, noticed the movement, rubbed her eyes and opened them. She saw that one end of the cocoon had a hole, and then something that was hard to see was emerging.
Bretta stared in astonishment, and Little White noticed the commotion, turning over with its four intently focused white rosebuds and lazily stretching.
After staring at it for a long time, the life inside the cocoon struggled to emerge. Little White, impatient, stretched out its vine to pull it out, but Blaita quickly stopped it.
Xiaobai tilted her head: "?"
Bryta recalled the popular science knowledge she had read and said seriously, "No, it has to come out on its own."
In that instant, the butterfly struggled and emerged completely, suddenly unfurling its colorful wings.
"Wow!"
"!"
Bryta looked at the first butterfly she had hatched with delight.
The butterfly was startled to see Bryta! It was as if the recurring nightmare that had haunted it in its cocoon these past few days had come crashing down on it once more as it opened its eyes! It shuddered in fright and tried to flee, its wings trembling—"slap!" Little White eagerly stretched out its head to meet it, and the butterfly collided with it, the overwhelming fragrance of the flowers intoxicating it.
Little White was also badly hit by its huge wings; its vines went limp, and its petals trembled wildly.
The butterfly's wingspan is quite large—almost three meters in diameter.
Excitedly, Blaita transformed into her original form and leaped onto the butterfly's back, finding a comfortable spot to sit. She then summoned Little White to surround it, and extended two thin vines to wrap around the butterfly's front before returning to its original position.
It stretched out its two little paws, grabbed two thin vines, and excitedly gave a command: "Giddy up—!"
The butterfly mutant, its fate once again gripped by the throat: "...???"
