Blaita hurriedly walked to the entrance of the snow cave and looked at Lin Dao.
Lin Dao peered through the cave entrance and seemed to see signs of a struggle. He frowned and asked, "What just happened?"
"Well... um... there was a polar bear that turned into a human..." Bretta was a little flustered, afraid of saying something wrong and giving herself away.
"A person? Is he inside?" Lin Dao saw him nod, so he immediately picked up his gun, walked in front of him, and cautiously headed deeper into the cave.
Bryta followed cautiously behind, his head drooping dejectedly.
Seeing that he didn't speak, Lin Dao asked in a low voice, "Are you hurt?"
Britta shook his head guiltily and whispered, "...He might be in trouble."
Lin Dao didn't understand what this meant at first. His gaze swept across the depths of the cave, and suddenly he bumped into something. He immediately raised his gun and was about to pull the trigger when a cry of pain rang out: "Hey! Don't shoot! Don't shoot..."
Lin Dao put away his gun and saw the man lying on the ground. He was covered in an unknown transparent liquid, looking wet and disheveled.
“You…” Lin Dao frowned, “You are one of those aliens who attacked us?” As he spoke, he pointed the gun directly at the other person’s forehead.
The man on the ground trembled at the sight and struggled to beg for mercy: "No..." He saw Blaita behind Lin Dao and was so frightened that he could not speak properly, "I, I didn't want this to happen, I was forced to, it's all their fault... After becoming a mutant, I was completely out of control."
Fearing Lin Dao wouldn't believe him, he tried to explain further: "It's true... If you don't believe me, I'll show you! I'll transform... I'll transform! Huh? What's going on?" The man struggled to his feet, his hands clenched tightly, covered in strange slime.
Lin Dao also noticed: "Where did all this slime on your body come from?"
“!” Blaita, who had been standing nervously at the back, suddenly opened his gaping maw behind Lin Dao in a threatening manner, with large drops of saliva dripping from his mouth.
"This is...this is—!!!" The man looked behind Lin Dao and was so frightened that he hurriedly backed away, his mouth agape in terror for a long time but he couldn't utter a single word.
Lin Dao noticed that he was looking behind him and turned around suspiciously—at the same moment, Bretta had already withdrawn her mouth, looking at him with an obedient, bewildered, and innocent expression, secretly swallowing, and carefully asking, "...What's wrong? Mr. Lin Dao."
Lin Dao watched his rather guilty little expression, and knowingly raised an eyebrow: "It's nothing." He turned his head, walked over to the man who was looking at him with a hesitant expression, picked him up, and pointed the gun at him, "Let's go."
The man was now unable to even mutate, and dared not resist. He obediently stood up and, as he passed by Blaita, saw the handsome young man and thought of that terrifying giant mouth. His heart was filled with mixed emotions.
They walked for a while and finally came to a snowy slope, where several people were fighting fiercely against various alien species.
However, the enemy's numbers increased, with many snow wolves swarming around them, eyeing them menacingly and howling every now and then. Being in the midst of it all felt like being surrounded by snow wolves.
Upon hearing the howls of the wolves, Blaita, for some reason, seemed to sense them and understand their language. His face paled, and he said, "They're preparing to attack. There are not only snow wolves..." but also various large carnivores that live in the extreme cold regions.
Hearing Blaita's voice, Xiang You turned around in surprise and saw him. Before he could say anything, he shot and killed a snow wolf that was charging at him. He then turned to Lin Dao and said, "There are more and more of them. If we don't leave now, we'll be surrounded!"
Lin Dao looked around with a deep gaze, then turned to Cheng Cheng and said, "You and Xiang Youxian take the data from Snow Castle's laboratory and leave."
Not far away, Wei Tang spread his snow-white wings, scooped up Qiao Song in his arms, and lifted him into the air. "I'll take him with me."
Immediately, Qiao Song's somewhat protesting voice came from the horizon: "I can fly too!"
Lin Dao, carrying the polar bear mutant who had reverted to his original form, glanced at Blaita, then turned to Wei Tang and asked, "Could we bring one more..."
"No need, I can do it myself! I run very fast! And I'm very good now!" Britta quickly waved his hand, but what he really wanted to say was that he might be able to handle it.
The man being led around by Lin Dao interjected sincerely, "He really can."
Without further ado, Lin Dao raised his burning gun and sprayed a stream of flames at one of the breaches to clear a path. He immediately gave the order: "Spread out—run!"
The group rushed toward the breakthrough point, some running, some flying. Blaita turned around, wanting to move, but hesitated, unsure where to run. After thinking for a moment, he stood motionless beside Lin Dao.
Lin Dao carried the man forward, but seeing that he didn't move, he frowned and was about to speak when a snow wolf suddenly pounced on him! This snow wolf was huge, standing four or five meters tall!
“Mr. Lin Dao!” Britta exclaimed in surprise.
Lin Dao almost instinctively teleported, barely managing to dodge. The man beside him was so frightened that he broke free and hid to the other side. He tried hard to control his transformation, but he couldn't react at all.
"Change! Change! What's going on?! Change quickly!" He was so anxious that cold sweat beaded on his forehead, and he even subconsciously moved closer to Blaita, keeping a careful and cautious distance from him.
For the first time, someone had relied on and trusted her like this: "Don't worry, I will protect you."
Lin Dao asked, "...How many people have you said that to?"
As they spoke, a pack of countless wolves followed behind the giant gray-white snow wolf, gradually approaching them.
The man, who looked somewhat like he had North Russian ancestry, couldn't help but wail upon seeing this: "Forget about how many people we've told! We're all about to die here!"
He reached out and pushed Bryta's shoulder, shaking him: "Hurry up! Open your bloody maw and swallow them!"
“Uh…” Bryta froze.
Lin Daogang had just finished firing all his bullets, pulled out a long knife, and swiftly dispatched the two snow wolves that pounced at him. Hearing this, he turned around and asked, "A gaping maw?"
Bretta hurriedly shook his head and argued, "...He wasn't talking to me! He was talking to...it!" He pointed to the wolf king, who was clearly the leader of the pack, the snow wolf that had attacked Lin Dao first.
It was significantly larger than other wolves. Moreover, its demeanor was cold and aloof, clearly indicating that it possessed human consciousness; it might even be a snow wolf mutant.
The wolf king, who was being pointed at, was taken aback when he saw the blond boy's face. Soon, he heard a gentle and clear voice: "Apa, bring him back."
"Yes, Master." The snow wolf gave a deep, manly voice.
Both Blaita and Lin Dao were startled when they heard the voice; this wolf king was indeed a different kind of human!
Lin Dao instinctively sensed something was wrong and immediately ran towards Blaita. However, it was too late.
The wolf king Apa leaped at Blaita, extending his sharp claws to seize the fleeing Blaita and slamming him onto the snow, pinning him down so that he could not move.
Bleta felt like his heart and lungs were about to explode, and a mouthful of blood suddenly spilled from the corner of his mouth, splattering onto the snow in an unusually eerie way.
Seeing this, Lin Dao's eyes widened in fury: "Tata—!" His eyes were filled with rage. He took three steps in two and leaped into the air, swinging the blade down towards the wolf king's skull!
The wolf king raised the paw that was pressing down on Blaita and blocked it with a single blow, grabbing the long knife in Lin Dao's hand. The blade met the sharp wolf paw, producing a dull and piercing sound.
The next second, "—crack!" The blade made an unbearable cracking sound, suddenly broke in half, and flew away!
Taking advantage of this moment, Lin Dao swiftly swept past, picked up Blaita from the snow, and teleported to another corner.
The Russian man, who was hiding in a corner within the wolf pack, was dumbfounded when he saw him teleport several times.
The wolf king, Apa, turned around and saw that his prey had been rescued. He felt a surge of displeasure and stared at the mask on the black-haired man's face. The man's amber eyes, seemingly inorganic, stared straight at him.
A voice came from inside his ear: "Apa, I'm getting more and more curious about this old friend. Let go and play with him."
Upon hearing this, Apa turned his deep eyes to the group in front of him and howled loudly. The wolves that had been waiting for an opportunity quickly attacked them!
Seeing this, the Russian man quickly rolled over to dodge, grabbed the broken half of Lin Dao's short knife, and swiftly blocked the wolf's tooth that was charging at him.
Bretta, who had just been bleeding from the pressure, gasped for breath. Little White, nestled in his arms, anxiously tightened the vines binding his waist, yelling, "I told you not to come back, and you wouldn't listen?!"
"Let's just eat that wolf in one bite!"
Bryta was held in Lin Dao's arms, her hands around his neck tightening slightly, her lips turning slightly pale. She shook her head inwardly: "No, I can't let my identity be discovered, and... eating the alien seems to make my stomach feel very uncomfortable."
This is one of the reasons why Bretta's body couldn't withstand the blow after being struck and pinned under the wolf king's palm. He felt that swallowing the polar bear earlier had actually depleted a lot of his strength.
Why?
Bletta had no time to think. Lin Dao, holding him, kept teleporting and dodging, but they couldn't escape the wolves that were relentlessly attacking from all sides. Realizing this, Bletta struggled to get down: "Put me down, I can run by myself..."
"Don't move." Lin Dao said in a deep voice, tightening his grip on Bretta. The next second, he teleported with Bretta to a high, snowy spot that hadn't yet been overrun by wolves.
He looked down at Blaita with a complicated expression, wiped the blood that had spilled from Blaita's lips with his finger, and asked, "Tata, promise me, don't be afraid of me, okay?"
Before Bretta could react, he suddenly lowered his head and approached his fingertips stained with his own blood. A forked tongue—or rather, a snake's forked tongue—suddenly extended from his thin lips and licked away the bright red liquid.
Bretta's eyes widened as she watched the man's black hair grow longer and spread down to his waist, while she also felt something sticky and slippery beneath her, like snake scales.
As the man transformed, the oppressive aura and presence of his natural enemy instantly enveloped him.
Held in Lin Dao's arms, Bleta trembled instinctively, her heart pounding, her face turning pale with fright. She murmured helplessly, "I...I..."
I cannot be afraid.
Lin Dao felt his trembling, his heart sank, and he lowered his head to kiss the boy he was holding.
The delicious liquid spread between their lips and teeth.
Bretta was inexplicably calmed down; the kiss felt familiar and reassuring—it was still his Mr. Klindall.
As Bleta carefully closed his eyes to savor the familiar touch, the wolves pounced on him.
Lin Dao's snake tail, which had transformed to nearly nine meters long, suddenly swung and created a massive wave on the thick snow! The surrounding wolf pack was completely torn apart, flying and crashing onto the snow, howling in agony.
Colonel Klindall lightly touched Bryta's lips, then looked up, his scarlet pupils calm as the sea, staring straight at the wolf king standing majestically a few meters away.
The swirling snow from the surging waves splashed up, covering his full head of black hair with a layer of white. Hearing the noise, Bretta slightly opened her eyes and stared blankly at him.
"Are you still afraid of me?" the man asked, looking down.
Bleta was about to shake her head when she remembered something and didn't dare look him in the eye. She lowered her head and whispered, "One more kiss, and I won't be afraid anymore."
"Okay." Lin Dao smiled slightly and lowered his head to kiss her again.
