Zombie Nine×Human Bell

Zombie Nine×Human Bell

Xue Ling is already an experienced zombie hunter. According to her experience, the strength of a zombie is related to its physical fitness in life, but after becoming a zombie, it can often burst out with greater strength than when it was alive.

Every time she tried to fork the zombie, she had to use all her strength.

But her ex-boyfriend, who used to be a good fighter, was easily knocked to the ground by her with a fork. He didn't even struggle or scream.

Is this normal?

Xue Ling’s first reaction was: Is he pretending?

He didn't turn into a zombie at all, he was just trying to scare her. She was still alive and well, how could Wen Jiuze turn into a zombie?

Xue Ling's mind was in a mess, and the riot fork in her hand loosened. Wen Jiu, who was caught by her fork, moved like a malfunctioning robot.

Although his movements were slow, Xue Ling felt nervous.

Seeing him stand up again and stagger towards her like a ghost seeking revenge, Xue Ling forked him with a fork and took him to sit on a heavy wooden sofa nearby, tying him up there quickly and silently.

When tying him up, Xue Ling felt that he seemed to be struggling just for the sake of expression, and his actions were full of perfunctory.

He really is, he must be pretending, right?!

With a firm suspicion, Xue Ling picked up the flashlight and shone it directly on Wen Jiuze's face.

His red eyes did not have the closing reaction that a normal person would have when suddenly exposed to light.

Xue Ling: He even wore red contact lenses to deceive me!

Xue Ling took out a small towel from his pocket, moved closer, and wiped Wen Jiuze's pale face vigorously several times.

Unable to wipe off the imagined paint, Xue Ling moved to his hand and wiped the back of his hand. Unconvinced, she wiped several places and even touched his pulse and chest.

In the end, Xue Ling had to believe that Wen Jiuze was a zombie and he didn't paint himself like that on purpose to scare her.

Warm tears suddenly fell on Wen Jiuze's blue and black hands.

Xue Ling suddenly squatted down and grabbed her head: "Why are you crying? Why am I crying?!"

She was mumbling to herself in a low voice, banging her forehead against her knees.

Wen Jiuze, whose features were clearly outlined by the light, lowered his head and looked at the back of her round head and her shoulders that were shaking as she suppressed her sobs.

When we broke up, we had such a big fight. I thought she would laugh out loud and scold him for what he deserved when she knew he was dead, and then stab him in the back. I didn't expect her to cry.

It's the end of the world, why is your temper still so damn good? Won't you get bullied?

The big blue hands tied to the sofa moved, wanting to break free from the rope and touch her head.

But if she really did that, she would probably be scared to death.

Wen Jiuze moved and leaned back.

Xue Ling quickly suppressed the sudden surge of sadness, looked up with red eyes, and took out the knife he carried with him.

Reason told her that if there were zombies around, she had to deal with them quickly, otherwise it would be very dangerous.

Everyone does this. Once relatives and friends become zombies, they are truly dead and are no longer the same person. Killing them is the only way to help them get relief.

Xue Ling brought the knife close to Wen Jiuze's neck.

He just stared at her motionlessly. Although he was a zombie, at this moment he seemed to still have human reason and knew what she was going to do. His eyes were full of understanding and peace.

That look was so familiar that Xue Ling couldn't help but recall many moments in the past.

This guy was a weirdo when he was a human. How come he is also a weird zombie after becoming a zombie?

Why doesn't he fight?

Wen Jiuze sat back and relaxed on the old heavy wooden sofa, ignoring Xue Ling's knife that was getting closer and closer. He just stared at her face, ready to take a few more looks before he died.

Although he could easily untie the ropes and leave, he felt that it was okay to die here.

With all his relatives and enemies dead, Wen Jiuze is now free of worries and has nothing he wants to do.

It was an accident that he became like this. The reason why he came all the way from Anxi to Yu City was just because he was worried about Xue Ling and wanted to come and see her.

Now that I see she is with her family and has someone taking care of her, I have nothing to worry about.

To be honest, Wen Jiuze was somewhat relieved that Xue Ling could use a knife on him.

I didn't expect my girlfriend to be so decisive and have made progress.

If she could speak, Wen Jiuze would probably whistle playfully, then smile and give her a thumbs up, encouraging her to keep doing it.

——You even dared to kill me, so you can’t let other zombies go.

Xue Ling raised his knife, then put it down.

She didn't care about the dust on the sofa and sat down next to Wen Jiuze, one person's distance away from him, pinching her trembling arms hard.

The first thing we did when we discovered the zombie was to speak up immediately and ask our stepfather and others to come over and deal with this dangerous zombie together.

She was not afraid of being discovered and kept silent. Even now, she was subconsciously not making too much noise.

Suspecting he was faking a zombie, wiping his face, getting so close, these were all absolutely wrong and imprudent things to do...but she did it anyway.

I didn't want to kill him. The thought of chopping off Wen Jiuze's head with my own hands was like chopping off a period of happy and peaceful days in the past.

Wen Jiuze watched her series of actions and suddenly wanted to laugh, but also wanted to sigh.

She just has too strong a sense of morality. She struggled so much even to chop up her zombie ex-boyfriend whom she hadn't seen for a long time.

He looked sideways and saw Xue Ling looking up at the ceiling, taking deep breaths.

Wen Jiuze knew that she was adjusting her mood. Whenever she was nervous in the past, she liked to sit like this and take deep breaths silently.

At first, when I got angry with him, I would take deep breaths, but later I stopped doing that and just raised my fist and started punching him.

"Lingling, why did you take so long? Are you okay?"

The mother's voice rang out outside. Xue Ling was startled and immediately stood up, wiping her eyes. She glanced at Wen Jiuze nervously and said, "I'll be fine soon. I'm fine, Mom."

Standing in front of Wen Jiuze, Xue Ling clenched the handle of the knife. In the end, he did not stab him, but reached out and slapped him hard in the face.

When she finished beating him, she stopped looking at him and went out with a lantern, a knife and a riot fork.

After she left, in the dim room, Wen Jiuze untied his hands from the rope, sat there relaxedly, and touched his cheek where he had been hit.

Xue Ling was really brave. She didn't even wear gloves and just beat him like that. She wasn't afraid that his teeth would be exposed and scratch her hand.

If you don't respect your ex-boyfriend, at least respect his identity as a zombie. It will be contagious.

But she seemed to be stronger than before.

The footsteps went away and came back again, and Wen Jiuze only had time to grab the rope in his hand to create the illusion that he was still tied up.

Fortunately, the lights were dim and Xue Ling was distracted, so she didn't notice.

She came back because she remembered that there was something she hadn't done.

Xue Ling stuffed a ball of cloth in her hand into Wen Jiuze's mouth.

"Don't scream. If you are discovered and killed, I won't care about you."

Xue Ling felt that he didn't roar like other zombies. It might be because he was poisoned and became mute because his words were too unpleasant when he was alive, so he didn't roar even after becoming a zombie.

But just in case, I'd better block his mouth first.

Xue Ling left in a hurry again. Wen Jiuze took out the cloth from his mouth, shook it open and found it was an old vest.

It was obviously Xue Ling's own. He smelled it and it had a bit of a clean soapy smell. It was so nice of her to specially get him a clean one.

Xue Ling didn't get a good rest that night. She kept thinking about Wen Jiuze who was tied up in the room in the backyard.

What if he breaks free and runs out and hurts someone?

What if he suddenly made a noise and was discovered by his stepfather and uncle?

She tossed and turned and couldn't sleep. She tilted her ears to listen for any noise. Her mother asked her, "What's wrong, Lingling?"

Xue Ling hesitated twice: "Nothing, just a little stomachache... I'm going to the toilet again."

She stood up and sneaked to the room where Wen Jiuze was tied up to take a look. Seeing that the dark shadow was still sitting on the sofa without moving, she felt a little relieved and went back to rest.

But this ordeal still made her a little listless during the day. Xue Ling went out with her stepfather, stepbrother, mother, uncle and aunt this time. They were picking up spoils outside Xinyan City.

In places where there are roaming zombies, they usually won't stay in the same place for more than two days, because if they stay in one place for too long, the strong human smell will more easily attract zombies to gather.

The next day, they moved to a nearby small building to stay temporarily. Xue Ling took advantage of the fact that it was still dark and quietly went to the room where Wen Jiuze was tied up.

During the day, with natural light, his appearance can be seen more clearly.

Xue Ling didn't do anything. She just held her zombie-killing weapon, sat on the doorstep and looked at him for a while.

Wen Jiuze really wanted to ask her: Aren’t you going to kill me today?

But what he wanted to ask more was: You are sweating all over, are you tired today too?

When Xue Ling was outside killing zombies and moving things with her family, Wen Jiuze did not stay there, but watched from the side.

He squatted on the roof and watched Xue Ling kill the zombie. Although he was not very strong, his movements when chopping the neck were still neat and skillful, unlike when he was hesitant when he gestured to his neck.

She is not like her brother who is a hindrance. He is stronger, but gets panicky when getting close to zombies. He misses the target every time he cuts with his knife and has to try several times. He also keeps cursing and blaming Xue Ling for not cooperating well. What a waste.

They stayed in the vicinity of Xinyan City for two nights and were going back to the base that afternoon. They moved their things and got in the car and left.

Wen Jiuze was sitting on the roof again when he suddenly saw Xue Ling getting out of the car and running towards the yard.

He walked down the stairs with his hands in his pockets and sat back in his original position before Xue Ling arrived, not forgetting to put the piece of cloth in his pocket into his mouth.

Xue Ling pushed the door open breathlessly, first caught him with a fork, then tied his hands, dragged him out of the empty room, and pushed him into a more secret room.

Wen Jiuze felt the rope on his hand being pulled away by her, and he felt a push from behind. Then the door slammed shut and was locked from the outside.

Xue Ling left quickly without saying a word.

What does this mean? Put him in a dark room?

Xue Ling returned to the car, closed the door, and started the car.

Her mother asked her, "Why did you run so fast just now? What did you leave in the yard where you lived before? Why did you have to run all the way there?"

Xue Ling passed by vaguely.

The car drove for a while and she looked back from the window a few times.

She couldn't bring herself to kill Wen Jiuze, but she also didn't want him, a disabled zombie, to run around outside. However, she still felt uneasy locking him up in a remote and secret room.

Maybe because she was too worried, Xue Ling fell asleep in the car and had a dream. She dreamed about what happened when they lived together before.

One time she forgot her key in the room and couldn't open the door, and she couldn't get through to the locksmith on the phone.

Wen Jiuze told him to do it, and he went up and pulled the door lock off. At that time, she was shocked and asked him, "How did you pull it off?"

Wen Jiuze said, "Isn't it enough to have hands?"

The second half of the dream was that she locked her zombie ex-boyfriend in the room, and he broke out, holding the broken lock and said to her: "You still want to lock me up? You can open it with your hands."

Then he rushed into the crowd like a wild dog off its leash.

Xue Ling woke up in a cold sweat.

Mom looked at her worriedly and said, "Lingling, you didn't get enough rest these past two days. You were talking in your sleep just now."

"Ah? What did I say?" Xue Ling didn't come back to his senses.

"What do you keep shouting about? What do you mean by 'Wen'? What do you mean by 'Wen Jiuze'?"

"..." Xue Ling said calmly, "It's a hot pot restaurant I used to eat at often. I make Mengtang hot pot."

"You said you'd come back. Come back soon."

"…Because the boss went bankrupt and the hot pot restaurant closed down, I never had such delicious hot pot again, so I asked him to come back."
