All eyes turned to Liang Damin.
Everyone, including twelve-year-old Qiushou, realized that something serious must have happened.
Everyone was waiting for news from Liang Damin, even though they knew it probably wouldn't be good news.

Back inside the house, Qiu Shou looked at Liang Damin and asked:
"My dad, what happened to him?"

After calming himself down, Liang Damin looked away from the autumn harvest and instead looked at Jiang Yuping.
"Jiang Yuping, Lao Qiu has been attacked!"

How Qiu Jingwen was attacked, when and where, remains unknown.
It was nearly eleven o'clock, and the jeep they were in was driving relatively smoothly. With Qiu Yang and Jiang Yuping constantly urging them on, it was practically running at full speed.
Qiu Jingwen lay in the hospital bed, still in a coma.
His head was wrapped in white gauze, and he was covered with a bed sheet from the First People's Hospital of Jianghuai City.
As a doctor, Jiang Yuping's primary concern at this time was her husband's safety.
She walked to the bedside, grasped Qiu Jingwen's hand with both of hers, and tears streamed down her face.
