"Yes, they talked to your mother."
"Your father is the head of the security department. Did he tell you why the police officers talked to my mother?"
"It might be related to that old man who was murdered."
"Liang Guoping, the police officers won't suspect my mother is the murderer, will they?"
"No, my dad said that the old man came to your mom twice."

Qiuyue didn't say anything more on the rest of the journey.
She then thought about her parents' and brother's unusual behavior and realized that their family might be connected to the barber who was killed.
She dared not entertain any more fantasies. Why were the police officers talking about her mother? Did her mother really have a problem?
But if the mother was the suspect, and a week had passed since the murder, why was she still safe and sound?
The two arrived at the factory area and parted ways at a downhill section.
Before parting, Qiuyue turned her head and said to Liang Guoping:
“Liang Guoping, your father knows what kind of people my parents are. The police shouldn’t really suspect my parents, right? Your father is a member of the investigation team. Ask him what’s going on.”
Liang Guoping immediately assured Qiu Yue.
"Akizuki, don't worry. It's likely that everyone who had contact with the deceased will be questioned."
At this point, Liang Guoping looked around and said in a low voice:
"Qiuyue, I'm off my day shift today. Let's go to the Huai River to see the scenery. I have a secret to tell you."
